Shining live aus Berlin - November 2013

Shining is a weird sounding band from Norway that describes the music they play as black jazz. I loved the band after listening to it for the first time back in 2008. When they came to Berlin, in November 2013, I knew I had to see that and create a poster for the concert continuing with a series of Posters for Every Concert I go to. Below you can see how the video from I Won't Forget inspired me to create this glitch like poster for them.

Zapälla does fashion for high society men with a sense of humor. And i was the guy in charge of translating this concept for his web presence. Summer '08 was inspired by lomography, Sublime, street art and that grunge look.

Caia no Mundo is a big network of blogs from people that went abroad to study and to travel by Central de Intercâmbio. They had lots of blogs, lots of content and everything was getting too crowded and too messy. So, they came up to me and asked for a new online identity, a new way to structure this network of blogs and a new way to use wordpress without making it show like it is a wordpress blog. So, thinking about that i focused first on doing a new home with the top content nothing like the majority of wordpress blogs. Wie viel 80er stecken in dir? from National Geographic Television Deutschland During my time working as a freelancer art director at St. Elmo's in Berlin, I was in charge of coming up with the visuals for a game called Wie viel 80er stecken in dir? - something that could be translated as How much of the 80s you have inside you? The idea was to use the visual elements used in the campaign and adapt them to a facebook game. At the game, you have to answer some questions and, to each right answer, you will get some symbolyc Deutsche Mark. The old currency are the points in the Wie viel 80er stecken in dir? game and, in the end of each round, you can exchange your points for some prizes. It was quite a challenge to develop the visuals for this facebook game back in the spring of 2013 but I was quite happy with the results.

Everything is Trash

Everything is Trash was a series of posters that never came to be in their original form. Back in the summer of 2011, I was extremely influenced by the work of the great Thomas Schostok and I decided to see what could I do with all these ideas and images I had in my mind. From that, I came up with the project Everything is Trash and started designing and illustrating some posters. I never managed to design anything more than those two posters that you can see here but, since I really like the way that they look, I decided to show them to the world and see what happens.

Cultural Freelancers United

The word freelance comes from traveling missionaries in medieval times- warriors with a ?free lance? who were not tied to the service of a particular king. With Cultural Freelancers United, we re-introduce the idea of the freelancer as a modern warrior, working project to project, fighting the good fight. Cultural Freelancers United is a network and support system dedicated to improving the working conditions and lifestyle of freelancers in art and culture. I was in charge of coming up with a visual identity that represented this concept of the freelancer as a modern warrior and below you can see what I come up with.

A Month of Glitch

Back in November 2013, after a glitch workshop that I attended here in Berlin, I decided to challenge myself and go for a month of glitch. The idea was to explore what I had learned by myself and add what I learned during the workshop and create, at least, one glitched image per day. These images could be from anything: a picture I took while walking through the city, my cats, anything possible. During that month, I tried my luck with a few different ways of creating error. From HEX Fiend to Processing, from ExtraFile to Audacity... I tried everything I could and the images below were some of the ones I created during those 30 days of glitch.

Pere Ubu has this new album called Carnival of Souls and when I thought about designing a poster for their concert in Berlin, a vision came into my mind. My idea was to explore the Carnival of Souls concept visually with a woman that has something evil hidden in her head.

CREW - One More Time

CREW is an electronic party that used to happen every month in São Paulo. The party went into a hiatus back in 2012 and decided to come back with full force for one special event this july. Again, i was the guy responsible for creating their poster and this is what i created.

Stay Focused - Olympus OMD Pitch

In march 2013, i was hired by St. Elmo?s Berlin to come up with a design concept for a new Olympus camera. The focus of this pitch was on creative people that need an small camera that is better than their cellphone and smaller than a full DSLR. This was the market Olympus OMD was going for and i had to find a way to target them. Stay Focused was the key theme and the visual i was looking for was to use graphical elements from the printing process as a way of playing with the visual focal point. This way, i could play around with the focus, reinforce the message and have strong visual elements for the other advertising elements. The Stay Focused website would be filled with interviews of key creative people showing how their lives got better after they started using the new Olympus OMD cameras. Below you can see the designers and creative people we were looking forward to include on this campaign. None of them were contacted and they never saw this pitch before. I hope nobody sues me. This was my first advertising project focused on the european market and i wasn?t very happy when i was informed that the pitch wasn?t successfull . But, since i like the way it was designed and conceptualized, i decided to include it on my portfolio.
