Gogadgetforum.com is a pretty new forum where you can make money by posting replies and starting threads. I was one of the early members of the website and I am happy that I signed up there. They also have contests through which users can make more money.

How are they different?

The best thing about this website that it has no fixed pay per post rate like most of the other forum where users get x cents for a post reply and y cents for new threads. Here one can make payment request once he/she have reached their minimum requirements (like number of posts, threads etc..). Once you’ve placed your payment request the forum admin will have a look at the quality of the posts and pay you. If you’re a human you can guess the fact that better posts get paid more.

I’ve been on many other forums which pays. The big down about these websites is that they have fixed payment rates for posts and threads. I pointed it as a down side because in this system one will get paid without considering the quality of the posts. In short, users who makes some good and productive contributions will not get more than others here.

I posted 100 posts and some threads on the first two days of registration. On the second day I put a payment request and was paid quickly. I got $8 for a few hours of work. Writing good quality posts

Good quality posts are the posts which includes some information. It is better to add pictures and add maximum details about the topic you’re posting. This doesn’t mean that you can’t ask some questions in threads or make casual replies on threads, but keep in mind that they don’t pay for such casual replies.

Finally, Bukisa takes the safe path too! (“Safe path?” see the end of the article). There are thousands of websites to make money writing articles but only few of them doesn’t require Adsense account. And by January 13th Bukisa will disappear from this small list. What’s going on?

Yeah, Bukisa is completely switching into Google Adsense within 30 days. Any balance will be paid to your PayPal account. After this there is no more Bukisa index payments. Ah..You must have read their email and you’ll be aware of all these stuff. By the way, you’ll get to keep the 60% of the Adsense earnings and the other 40% goes to Adsense.

What is meant by “safe path”?

Integrating with Google Adsense is a safe net for article submission websites. By using this method they’re never gonna end up in a loss. Here are some of their benefit :

Never end up loss: Earlier Bukisa had to pay according to their index system. Actually it was a risk for them because they have no guarantee that they’ll get the index amount from 1000 views. So if they don’t get enough clicks for the views they receive they could easily end up in loss.
No payment headaches: All the payment procedures are now off from their heads. Google does that all now. Bukisa can just maintain the website and stuff. No more payments, payment disputes etc.

This is pretty high when you imagine that you’ve got to give Bukisa $400 if you make $1000 on Adsense with them. And that’s a lot of money for Bukisa who just made the platform for the users to contribute.

I’ve been using ShareCash.org for few days and I didn’t made much money out of it. In fact, I wasn’t able to get 10+ downloads on my file even though I’ve tried to promote it by various methods.

How I used the website

I created a 12 page eBook and uploaded it on ShareCash. Then I created a page with the highlights of the book for promoting it. I added ShareCash download link on this page and started to send people to this page. I’ve continued this for the whole day and I couldn’t get any downloads and the few downloads I’ve got are from the friends to whom I send the link via email. It’s seems that people are not interested in downloading files after doing a survey or completing an offer.

Some tricks to get downloads

I’ve read on ShareCash itself that one of the ways to get downloads is to upload encrypted compressed files on torrents and once the download is complete ask them to find the password in your ShareCash file. But this is not a healthy way and in my opinion we’re actually cheating the downloader! Moreover, this method could only be used for once and after that our reputation on that torrent website will drop and people will start to run away from our username.

Some do make much money with ShareCash

Anyway, you can give ShareCash a shot because some users there makes a lot of money out of it. 40 cents to 60 cents is a lot of money and it is really great if you could get some hundred downloads on a file. I don't know how those users get that much downloads on their files, but it is a fact that they do.

The thing that might work

I think the best way to get some downloads on this website is to create some premium quality virtual goods and upload it to ShareCash. Here is how it works:

1.) Create a quality file and add it for sale on your website or blog or anywhere you think where it will get some attention.

2.) Now add an option to download the file for FREE! And users who select this option will be directed to the ShareCash page and from there he/she can complete the survey and have the file.

3.) It is likely to get 40-60 cents per download and if you think your work is worth than that you may split the files into pieces and upload it so that you’ll earn more.

Anyway, I haven’t tried this trick myself and can’t make any guarantees. But this is the best one that popped in my head.

I recently came across this website called usertesting.com and I think their concept is cool. It’s a place where people can submit their websites for a fee and get it reviewed by real people. And the review includes the video reviews done by the user. You can be a user who reviews the websites and get paid for doing so. They pay $10 per video review.

Getting approved

First you have to download their screen recording software. Now review a website they supply to you and submit it to them and if your review was good enough you’ll get approved. By ‘reviewing’ it means you have to say the good and bad things about the website through your microphone while recording the video.

My experience

Well, the website itself says that one should not consider it as a steady income source. I don’t get much reviews as I’ve expected since the availability depends on :

1. Your demographics.

2. An oversupply of user testers.

3. Your ability to provide useful feedback

I think most of you will be familiar with the website Cashgopher - ‘Make money for doing nothing’. The website was launched on September 1st by the creators of myLot, which is one of the best online communities.

What is it?

It’s simple! You just download their software after signing up there and then run it on your computer and you’ll get paid for that! The more time your computer is powered on with the program running, the more you’ll earn. Users may see some advertisements as well, which helps to generate more money.

The working of their website and the way the owners earn profit are listed on their FAQ page here. They also have an affiliate program in which users earn 25% of the earnings of their referrals for a full year.

My review

I’ve signed up there on the launch day itself. And I expected much from the website. But I was extremely disappointed when I realized that I’ve earned $0.01 for running their program for 24 hours! So it is not at all profitable for me since it won’t even make up to the electricity I spend on PC by leaving it ON for the whole day!!

But I guess they’ll be better in future because the website is owned by mylot and so they’ll find lots of advertisers. Let’s hope that Cashgopher will offer much more soon.

Toneaday is very interesting website to make money online. And it does pays! You can make money by rating phrases and words based on how they make you feel. And for each word you’ll earn $0.02 which is a very good amount.

Payout Structure

They have a special payout structure and one could make his first payout at $2. The next minimum payout is $30. Users enter higher levels as they contribute to the website and at higher levels minimum payout gets lower. They pays via PayPal and I received the payments within minutes after requesting. Anyway, they are going to introduce some new ways to make payments from September, 2010.

My experience

The concept is pretty interesting but we still don’t know what are they doing with these data or how they profit from the same. I wasn’t able to spend more than half an hour continuously on the website since it turned very boring and a lot of non-ratable words pops in frequently. Anyway, there are users who makes thousands of contributions in a single day making hundreds of dollars and you could do the same if you want to.

I guess I’m no longer excited about Lockerz General redemptions. I’ve been active on Lockerz for almost a year and I’m a Z-list member as well. I’ve been active there and referred 28 of my friends by typing their email addresses. Anyway, I still login there everyday and answer ‘Dailies’ and earn some points, but I don’t expect anything return for what I do.
What Lockerz redemption is?
For me Lockerz redmption is the time in which they display ‘Freshout’ on the product pages of PTZplace instead of ‘More Soon’
PTZ PTZ and PTZ again….
Lockerz is giving away a lots of PTZ for almost doing nothing and this decreases the value of it. For 1750 points one could redeem an iPod touch 8 GB and these points can be made within one day by watching the videos out there. I don’t understand why Lockerz gives away so much points while they don’t have much gifts to give away.
Unannounced midnight redemptions
General redemptions are unannounced redemptions which can take place at anytime between the dates Lockerz says. And for me most of the general redemptions were at 3 AM, moreover it happens on business days which leaves me no option to get into their redemption.
The Shop
This is the only thing that keeps me on Lockerz. Not beign a US member, I can’t purchase anything from SHOP yet I am saving some PTZ so that I can buy a DVD or something else when I can.
The new changes

In my post Fiverr: Do something for $5, I’ve talked about Fiverr.com, its advantages and disadvantages. Now, I think it’s time to strike off some points from the disadvantages since they’ve some awesome new features. There are mainly two new options which is very very useful for the users and they are:

No minimum withdrawal limits: Earlier, Fiverr had a minimum payout for sellers which is $40. So a seller should successfully complete 10 sales to get the money he accumulated. But now they took off the limits which means we can now cashout after each completed sale.
Pay with revenue: Now users can buy giggs from other users using the sales balance. Sales balance is the money one made by selling giggs on Fiverr.

Also, they’ve made some improvement on Account Dashboard. In short, Fiverr was able to kick off their drawbacks by adding these features. I’ve got some money there and I am going to transfer it to my PayPal account immediately.

Ziddu.com is a 100% free file sharing website. There is only free account and no premium options. And most importantly, they still pay their users for the downloads generated. Obviously, the pay rate are not as good as the other hosts which sells premium accounts. Yet, I think Ziddu is really worth trying.

Some General Information

You can upload a file of maximum size 200 MB, but you are free to upload any number of files which gives you unlimited disk space. You’ll earn $0.001 per each download you get on your files (that is $1 for 1000 downloads) You can upload photos, audio, video etc. which can be directly viewed by others without downloading. Payments are sent via Moneybookers or PayPal with a minimum payout of $10.

My Experience with Ziddu

I really liked the website. It is stuffed with advertisements and I guess they’ve complete right to add them since they’re offering a lot to the users without having any premium account sales.

When I was new there I uploaded a text file with links to my favorite websites, just the links. I didn’t have any friends in my account there and I’ve never shared that upload link to anyone. Anyway, after a week or two I saw my account account balance $0.007 earned from 7 downloads. I don’t know from where the downloads came from. So if you take this seriously by uploading frequently and promoting the links I think it will be a useful opportunity to receive a small payout at the end of the month.

The only problem I’ve experienced with them is their delayed payments. For instance, they’ve completed their March’s payouts on June 9th!

Blogger makes ‘Title’ a required field for certain gadgets.

Today when I was just doing some works with my blog elements on Blogger I just saw this error message under the ‘Title’ box when I tried to add a gadget without any title “Required field. cannot be left blank”. This is new, I guess, I used to add so many gadgets without titles, especially gadgets like HTML/JavaScript. I’ve tried to add ‘Text’ gadget as well and it showed the same result, but when I tried it with ‘List’ there were no problems.

Anyway, it’s not a big deal. At some points it is really helpful to understand the gadgets when we’re editing our gadget stuffed blog under the ‘Page elements’ tab of Blogger. On the other hand, it might be a problem when we’re adding an HTML code where we don’t need a title.

Blogger is constantly adding new and improved features on Blogger and let’s hope for the best in near future.

Blogger Template Designer Features

We’ve been complaining Blogger for doesn’t giving much control over the templates we use on our blog (unless you’re a programmer). Well, there are so many options to edit our theme by ‘Editing HTML’ from the account and we can find lot of tricks on the web to customize our template by editing those codes. But it would be great if Blogger gives users a ‘What You See Is What You Get’ Interface for some basic designing of the blog. And with their all new feature ‘Blogger Template Designer’

Anyway. if you’re using an external unofficial template you’ve downloaded from the web you may not be able to edit your template using this tool (most probably!)

So the features are :

Template: There are 5 basic templates to start with and there are many customized versions of the same template under each of them. in my opinion, the ‘Simple’ theme is the best theme to start your designing with.

Background: With this feature you can give any color to your blog background or even add a background image from the gallery provided. There are lots of images under various categories, so finding a suitable background image will not be tough.

Layout: I think this is the best part of the Designer and we can easily convert our 2 column blog to 3 column or vice versa. There are options to edit the footer layout as well. Most of all, you can adjust the width of your blog and sidebars using the slider provided.

Advanced: This part gives you control over all the colors of your blog (which includes text, links, pos backgrounds etc.). Also you can add custom CSS to your template to add other stuff you want on it.

It’s great to see more features added in Blogger. It is not so long since they’ve added their stand alone pages option and now they’ve also added Template Designer. There may be more to come. We must wait!

I do make money online but when it comes to ‘blogging’ I’m pretty new! So I read a lot of SEO tips and related stuff. And while I was browsing I happened to watch a video from Matt Cutts’s blog. The video is embedded below and you might want to consider taking some snacks and drinks because the video is one hour long.

So the main highlights of the video are:

Don’t use images in place of texts: Some people use images for displaying text and they use it especially for linking. But that isn't good for SEO.
Meta descriptions are important: Google looks for meta description while listing your site. It’s a good way to let users know what your site is all about while searching.
Google doesn’t look at meta keywords: Since people can add any meta keywords on their website Google are not giving those keywords any importance.
While creating URLs: While creating pages it’s better to create URLs with page heading in it. And when you’re doing this use hyphen ‘-’, instead of underscore ‘_’ to separate words of the heading. e.g. http://www.freshpayout.com/2010/05/advantages-of-using-offline-blog-editor.html . For my blog which is hosted on Blogger, it’s automatically in this format .
Add ‘Related contents’: It’s probably the best way to keep the visitor on your website for some time.

MyPage5: Get paid for being social

Mypage5 is a great website to make money online with. It’s a pure social networking website where you can upload and share stuff (blogs, pictures, videos etc.) and get paid for doing that! Mypage5 tells that they are the “MOST FINANCIALLY REWARDING” social networking site in the world.

You’ll realize that this point may be true (at least to a certain extend) if you take a look at their Earning FAQ. They have a fixed upfront payments on the tasks you do on the website, which is different from other websites who won’t declare any such upfront rates but shares what they’ve earned with the users. Of course, there are limitations and conditions (That’s why I said ‘to a certain extend’ earlier). There are limits on blogs you can upload at a time. And when you’re posting comments you can say short meaningless comments like ‘nice’ and if you do so you may get a penalty of $5.

The minimum payment is $25 via PayPal. The new users must definitely upload their profile picture while signing up, else you’ll lose a bonus of $5.

Anyway, the website doesn’t looks attractive. There are few ads (but not too many) and also there are inline ads which is not suitable for a ‘social’ environment. Since mypage5 have upfront payment system they have to make some real money with the website or they’ll end up in loss. So the inline ads are justifiable.

As I was browsing through some blogs & forums I came across Fiverr. I just had a look at them and I liked the complete concept of the website.

What is it?

How to get some sales

On Fiverr, the best way to get some sales is to be unique and innovative. Don’t do what everyone else is doing! Also you must be very careful while creating a gigg, you must not create a gigg which requires hours of work for $5.

Some other information & thoughts

The name ‘Fiverr’ is meant for buyers only, sellers only earn $4 per sale and $1 goes to Fiverr
The minimum payout is $40 which is pretty high. So you’ll need to make at least 10 sales to get your money to PayPal account. (I was wondering whether all the money goes to Fiverr, if a seller doesn’t make it to 10 sales for minimum payout, because buyers already pays Fiverr at the beginning itself).
There is a category called ‘Social Marketing’ and there are so many giggs which can help in our online business.

I love Fiverr, expect their $40 minimum payout. Because I’ve just completed 1 sale there and $5 was paid to Fiverr by the buyer. So if I don’t get any sales in future and I quit Fiverr, $5 will goes to Fiverr though I’ve earned it with my hard work!

Mturk: Get paid for completing small tasks

Now there are a bunch of websites which pays users for completing small tasks. You can earn some cents or a dollar for following twitter profiles, commenting on blog posts, Bookmarking or Digging websites, posting links on forums, signing up on websites etc. Most of the tasks are simple and easy. This is a simple program where advertisers create campaigns like the ones I’ve described above and the users will complete those tasks and get paid by the advertisers.

In this post I am writing my experience with Mturk which I’ve used myself.

A little about Mturk

Mturk is a reliable website since it is owned by Amazon and there are always hundreds of tasks available on the website. At Mturk users must achieve some minimum qualifications to finish some tasks which can be easily achieved by anyone (Well, some qualifications are really hard to achieve). Now I’ll just tell my likes and dislikes about Mturk

Likes

There are lots of tasks available for users (or workers). Currently (when I’m writing this) there are 182,029 HITs (Human Intelligence Tasks) running.
Reliable and secure: Mturk is a very secure website with encrypted pages. Well it’s reliable and I’ve already said that.
Enroll in your own currency! Yeah, you can enroll your money in your own currency. Well, I’m not sure how many currencies are available, but I think there are many.
We can use it for shopping at Amazon

Dislikes

There are tasks which pays $0.01 which is not a very good amount. Though it’s completely up to the user whether to accept a task or not I guess Human Intelligence tasks should be rewarded a little more.
No PayPal! PayPal has major role in online payments and it would be great if Mturk allows PayPal. Oh, Mturk is Amazon’s and PayPal is eBay's (hmm…).
Many tasks doesn’t pay much less than what is expected.

I use Mturk and the best part is that we can complete most of these task when we’re having a coffee (It’s simple and easy!)

Offline Blog editor: Windows Live writer

In my previous post ‘Advantages of using an offline blog editor’ I said that I use Windows Live Writer as my offline blog editor. So I just though of having a video about it. In the following video you can just have a look at the features of Windows Live Writer.

Reviewstream review

Reviewstream is a very popular website which pays high upfront rates. They currently pays $2.5 per article, if approved. They also have another system in which they accept the article for a lower rate, even if the article doesn’t make it to the original pay rate it has still a chance of getting approved for bulk rate which is 1/5 of the original pay rate. The two things which made Reviewstream popular are:

High upfront payments: They have a very high upfront payments which is not available on any other websites
Review about anything: They allows you to review about anything! Even hotels near your house!!

Anyway, the website also scored bunch of negative criticism. And let’s check why.

No registration or sign ups, people just write reviews using their pen name and email. Lack of member’s area made them look like unprofessional.
Many people reported that the website has bad support.
Rejection of reviews without specific reasons. Yeah, they just reject people’s review for the reason ‘We’re not interested in it’. Anyway, there is no explanation for why they’re not interested.
$50 minimum payout for such a website is too high. They should have made it much lower.

Well, you can write on Reviewstream for some quick money because they have upfront payments. Also, if your submission is not approved by Reviewstream you can submit it elsewhere.

Advantages of using an offline blog editor

When I came across these ‘offline blog editor’ concept, I thought what is the need of such software when we have bunch of free Word processors available for download. But once I’ve started using them I realized how much easier it is to post blogs using the software. I use Windows Live Writer for my offline blogging. There are so many other popular blog editors as well. The advantages of using offline blog editors rather than a word processor are:

Edit your blogs offline (when you’re unable to access internet) and publish it with a click.
No copy pasting involved. Also when we’re pasting from word processor the format may change and the whole text and images may become whacky.
It makes formatting much easier. I found it extremely easy for formatting and aligning pictures using an editor rather than formatting it online.
Add pictures, videos etc. easily. Otherwise, we may have to upload it first and then add it to the post but when we’re using an editor they’ll do the uploading work while publishing.
Some offline editors (like Windows Live Writer) also supports third party plugins and add-ons which makes blogging even easier.

Some blog editors may offer more features which will helps us to blog more efficiently. Also, many professional bloggers recommend to use these editors.
