Recently, team president Jed York said he was confident that a deal would get done.

However, no contact = no contract.

And Parker is putting the blame on Crabtree. Per PFT, "we're hearing that Parker is dealing with the Crabtree conundrum on the recruiting trail by blaming the holdout on the player. Parker, we're told, is pointing to the deal he negotiated for defensive end Tyson Jackson at the third overall slot as proof that Parker is willing and able to negotiate a fair deal for a first-round pick."

"We'll get it done at some point," York told John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle before Friday's game. "They've had discussions. We'll get it done. We're all in."

Typically, rookies are slotted in based on the contracts of the picks before and after them. The Packers signed B.J. Raji, who was the ninth overall pick, to a five-year contract worth $28 million ($18 million of which is guaranteed).

However, the monkey wrench in the whole process is what Raiders owner Al Davis did. With the seventh overall pick, he selected Maryland's Darrius Heyward-Bey despite Crabtree being the top receiver on nearly every team's board.

Therefore, Crabtree, his agent Eugene Parker, his cousin, his barber's nephew's little league coach, etc. want a deal that exceeds that of Heyward Bey, who received a five-year deal worth $38.25 million ($23.5 million of which is guaranteed).

The Raiders signed Darrius Heyward-Bey yesterday, so that should make it easier to get a deal done for Crabtree.
