The AFC Challenge cup starts from 8th March 2012 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Different Asian countries will be participating in the tournament. It will be shown live in various countries not just in Asia but also in other 2 continents - Europe and North America.

In Nepal, the host nation, the matches will be shown live on Kantipur TV. It is a free-on-air TV channel in Nepal which broadcasts 24-hours a day. Other TV channels and their broadcasters are:

AFC Challenge Cup 2012 in Nepal - Fixtures and Schedule

AFC Challenge Cup 2012 will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 8 March 2012 to 19 March 2012. A total of 8 teams will be competing in the tournament among whom the winners will qualify for the Asian Cup 2015. The matches will be two played in Two venues - Dashrath stadium and Halchowk stadium both located in Kathmandu.

The tournament will be played in Round-robin / Knock-out format. Eight teams are divided into two groups among which two from each will qualify to semi-finals then to the finals. The third place play-off will also be played.

Here are the groups for AFC Challenge Cup 2012:

The semi-finals of SAFF Championship is going to be held today between Nepal and Afghanistan in New Delhi, India. Afghanistan have qualified as group leaders while Nepal as the second in the group. With huge win of 8-1 against Bhutan and 3-1 against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan look to be a difficult opponent for Nepal. Nepal too have been considered favorites from the start of tournament. However, they have failed to convert a lot of chances to goals.

Nepal registered victory over Bangladesh after 18 years as Sagar Thapa - Nepali Captain scored at extra time. With the win, Nepal are the leading the group table with 4 points and are in the verge of qualifying for the final. Nepal had drawn 1-1 against Maldives in the first match.

It seemed as if the match will end in a draw like the previous ones. At the last minute of extra-time Nepal got a free kick from almost the centre of the ground. Nepali skipper Sagar Thapa then scored an stunning goal into the top-right corner of the post.

Defending champions are all set up for the further match in UEFA Champions League 2008/2009. The 1st leg match between the quaterfinalists is all to begin April 7 at Old Trafford. Man U is going to host Porto in their home ground.

Liverpool captain Stephen Gerrard and Bayern striker Miroslav Klose are at the top on the Champions' League 2008-2009 top goal standings. Porto's Lisandro Lopez along with Barcelona's Lionel Messi are on the 2nd spot as they are still alive in the cup. Manchester United seems to be very back in this frame as their striker Berbatov is quite a distance apart from the top scorers. Another Barcelona's Theirry Henry and Samuel Eto with Arsenal's Adebayor follows them.

Chelsea Vs Man City 1-0 in Premier league 2009 - Highlights

Chelsea are now back on 2nd place in premier league table with a 1-0 win against Man City, 4 points short of Man U. Michael Essien who has featured in his first premier league match after a long break due to knee injury became the only scorer in the match.

The goal: On 17th minute of the match, a poor defence from City and brilliance finish from Essien resulted the first and only goal of the match. A 45-yard free-kick from Lampard into the penalty area was struck first and changed into a goal with right-footed short by Essien.

Though the match ended in 1-0 Chelsea missed a lot in the first as well as second half of the match. Essien had headed a pass from Lampard in 39 minute which went completly off-target.

In support of about 42,000 home crowd, Chelsea certainly rocked. The new manager, Guus Hiddink has arrived with new hopes for Chelsea and now the comeback of Ghanian Essien certainly gives them more chances for gaining more momentum.
