This is a historical and a theological fallacy. Christianity is the fulfillment (fullest expression, expansion, and revelation) of the religion of Adam (the head of the human race) who had communion with the triune God of Scripture. Was there a religion before Adam and Eve?

"Instead of becoming irate and saying mean things I would simply encourage that comments that refer to condeming others to hell out-right in a zealot manner you take a more comforting approach and promote beauty and peace and allow others to come to you with questions about hell and the afterlife, and when you explain your beliefs to others explain approach it as what you believe to be true not as a law or mandatory path that they must conform to."

The problem with your approach Tyler is that in watering down the message of "hell" you are actually being hateful. As one atheist said, 'if hell is real I would crawl on broken glass to warn people to repent'. That is like having prior knowledge of 9-11 and trying to impress people with the park down the street in hopes that they would rather take a walk in the park (enjoying the beauty and smelling the flowers) rather than hear the truth about the doom that is to come. Of course if you do not believe in the Bible and what it speaks about, it makes perfect sense that you would try to advise me in some unbiblical way. I will stick to inspired Scripture. Please, Tyler, repent and turn from your sins today and cling to Christ...while there is still time to escape the wrath of God.

“Do Dogs go to Heaven?”

This is too funny.

These two churches face each other across a busy street.

<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; If man has no essential transcendent worth, than why do we weep and hurt as if we do? The Christian has an answer for that. Does the atheist?

Why don’t we weep every time we kill that which, in the atheist’s mind, is equal to human beings? For example: cows every time we have a burger, plants every time we have a salad, air every time we breath - as we kill millions of microbes every day?

If we show up at the atheist’s funeral having lost a loved one why should we not ask out loud, “Why are you weeping?? I thought man is no different from the grasshopper I killed on my windshield on the why over here?”

Funerals have a universal transcendent quality about them, they tend to speak loud and clear about the essential worth of human beings. To illustrate this consider the following tale, Joe the atheist has a funeral to attend - it is his mother’s. You see, Joe has been raised in a Christian home his whole life, having gone to college and heard some things about coming from primordial soup that developed over millions and millions of years resulting in the primates that are now called humans.

Joe came to his mother one day with the unsettling news that contrary to his parent’s constant tutelage, Joe has come to the conclusion that there is no God. Joe has learned many valuable lessons from his mother and her presupposed worldview that there is a God without which she would have been incapable of teaching Joe anything meaningful about the basic make up of life and experience. Joe’s mother suffers a terrible wreck and dies. Joe has to go to the funeral and face some very fundamental questions. Is my mother truly valuable? If not, than why am I crying? If so, where does she derive the type of worth that has me sobbing all over my suit? Did evolution give her such worth? Did the fact that she was a good mother? If that is indeed the fact, then I must admit that her biblical worldview shaped her into the type of mother that I now value.

What’s the answer to all these questions? I know the scientific answers: she is a primate, nothing more than a primate like an ape, or a lizard, or a toad. But if I was raised by a pack of wolves, and my mother wolf died, would I go on for hours and days of remorse such as I find myself in now? I know that I am not willing to agree to what my mother believed, that all human’s are created in the image of God and have great and intrinsic worth. I know that I will not except that there are such things as absolute laws of morality, logic, and meaning but then why can’t I explain the death of my mother other than meaningfully if there is no ultimate meaning or dignity or purpose to life?

Joe has a very basic choice to make. He must either operate within the principles of the biblical worldview in order to assign the type of meaning to the death of his mother that he knows and even at this point feels to be true, or he must suppress those notions in search of other explanations.

One thing is for sure: his evolutionary, materialist, chance universe is not providing the type of solace that funerals demand. In fact, when sharing your faith with an atheist, the Christian should go on to argue that Joe’s worldview has not and cannot provide him with the ‘preconditions for intelligibility’. In other words, Joe’s worldview cannot be lived out consistently because it does not make sense out of life, death, and experience.

Sadly, even though the unbeliever is incapable of providing rational argumentation to substantiate their own worldview, they do tend to think they know for sure that Christianity is not true. Interesting.

Emilio Ramos is a preaching pastor of Sovereign Joy Community Church. It was sort of like a big reunion. Ray Comfort was there, Tony was on air and of course Freakishly Tall Todd was there as usual -what a blessing to be on the program! It was a blast.

Tye was on hour 1

Tye listened to Todd and Ray intently... he ran off quickly before I was able to follow up with him but Todd and Ray said he sounded pretty impacted by hearing the good news of the gospel.

Rosalinda was happy to be on Hour 2 of Wretched...

But when Ray Comfort began talking about the 10 commandments...her face changed.

She was quite upset when she got of the phone. She felt that Ray and Todd were "judging" her. So Emilio and I followed up with her. We explained the gospel to her and that Ray and Todd don't judge anyone but they encourage you to look into God's mirror to judge yourself and see how you measure up before a Holy God. After a while she seemed to understand.

Her last words before we walked away where the words that I didn't want to hear...she said, "You know what...I'm not ready to walk with God and live for Him...I'm living for myself right now!" My heart just broke when I heard those words roll off her tounge. So Emilio and I pleaded with her that she may not have tomorrow and urged her to "repent today and consider all we said".

I gave her a big hug right before we left.

One of the most memorable parts of my wedding

Emeal (“E.Z.”) Zwayne (Vice President / General Manager of Living Waters) officiated my wedding almost 6 years ago. Emilio and I were beyond honored to have him marry us. I can remember it like it was yesterday. What I'm about to share with you was one of the most memorable moments of the whole night.

Right before the vows, Emilio and I stood off to the side of the stage while E.Z. moved forward and began to preach a mini sermon to all the attendees - there were about 400 guests.

I thought you'd be encouraged by this small snippet that he shared with our family and friends. Here's what they heard:

"The powerful Roman emperor Charlemagne made an unusual request with regard to his burial. He asked to be buried... sitting upright on his throne... with his crown on his head... his scepter in his hand... his royal cape draped around his shoulders and with an open book placed on his lap.

That was in 814 A.D. Nearly 200 years later, Emperor Othello wanted to see if Charlemagne’s burial request had indeed been carried out. He ordered that the tomb be opened. They found the body just as Charlemagne had requested. Only now, nearly two centuries later, the scene was gruesome.

The crown was tilted on the skeletal head. The scepter was tarnished. The mantle was moth-eaten. The body disfigured. But, there, open on his lap was the book Charlemagne had requested - the Bible!!!... and one, bony finger pointed to Matthew 16:26: “What does it profit... to gain the whole world and lose your own soul?” "

Then E.Z. proceeded to share the full gospel message with everyone. It was wonderful, truly wonderful.

If you're getting married anytime soon, what a perfect opportunity you have to incorporate a solid gospel message into your ceremony so that all the hearers can listen to the words of eternal life and possibly get saved. How special would that be!

A Visit to Kenneth Copeland's Compound

Justin Peters emailed me recently after attending Faith Preacher Kenneth Copeland's ministry. Justin sent me the following. I thought you might find it interesting:

"Here are a few pics of the other night at the Southwest Believers Convention. It was titled "The Eden Blessing." There was a woman there - 50 years old - has probably the worst case of Cerebral Palsy I've ever seen (her mother told me she had CP)...I do not know how much mental capacity she has but you just hope for her sake that it is not much. All she can do is moan and cry. Copeland said (to the crowd at the convention), "If you don't have the blessing, whose fault do you think it is? You're the one that screwed it up." Unbelievable.

I have also attached a few pics of my visit out to his compound.
