The summer has been jammed packed with rising 2011 SENIORS and I will have to say each and every one of them have been great!  I really enjoyed  meeting each one of these seniors with all of the personalities  and style which makes each session  unique and fun!  Although I tried to schedule shoots in the early am or late evening it was still HOT and I mean HOT!!   I would be melting from my clothes being soaked with sweat and they would still look BEAUTIFUL!  And let me tell you, that camera strap around your neck doesn’t help in this crazy heat we have been having! But I wouldn’t have it any other way!  I LOVE what I do!!

So, was your summer slammed with church trips, the beach, pool, work and all the other fun stuff and didn’t have a chance to have your senior portraits taken?  I have a limited amount of sessions remaining in October and November so don’t wait to call and book your 2011 SENIORS ROCK session! Find a senior rep at school for more details!

All 10 of them arrived in a limo with the coolest baseball shirts on!  They quickly rushed into the church to get dressed because like all weddings we were on a tight schedule!  Once everyone was ready we all loaded back up in the limo and headed to an offsite location that Shannon and I had scoped out earlier in the week! 

When this bride hired us she specifically said “I WANT OUT OF THE BOX” and after our 1st consultation I already had a vision!  I knew I wanted rustic and some type of red chair and thanks to Laurel Lane Interiors they made that  happen!

I’m not sure what was going on here but Shannon sure captured a great expression on the grooms face and this beautiful flower girl!

Needless to say, I was very excited when I announced the contest and received 32 contestants!  I had no idea that many would come in, and had no idea that once the contest launched there would be over 500 VOTES!  The winner will receive a “FREE” Mini Shoot along with 10 digital images (value $350) and the 2nd place winner (which, by the way, there are only 14 votes between the two) $75 print credit to be used toward a mini or full session! All contestants receive a $25 print credit just for entering!

The WINNER of the 1st ANNUAL, SUMMER 2010 “Cutest Kid Contest” is….(pause)….Miss Autumn Whitley!  Autumn is the cutest thing! I photographed her and her family in November of last year and let me just say this….she wasn’t very excited about our shoot! Although we had to take many breaks, we were still able to capture the beauty of this family! I can’t wait to see her again! Everyone please leave a comment congratulating Autumn on her win!  While you are there, wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, as next Friday (July 23rd) is her 1^st birthday !!  CONGRATS and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUTUMN! 

And now for the 2nd place WINNER….Mr. Cameron Godwin!!  His dad worked really hard at getting votes and it sure paid off!  He is just the cutest thing…love the dark hair…and that smile….I could just eat him up! CONGRATS Cameron!

So, let me tell you about my day yesterday!   I started out at 7:15am for my morning 2011 SENIOR shoot with Bridget N. from West Johnston and got LOST!  My GPS kept taking me to the middle of a sub-division…errrggg!  Luckily I knew about where is was and was able to take a couple extra turns and find my way.  Sometimes I wonder if things like this happens for a reason because during my kayos of being lost I find a KILLER shoot location!  I can’t wait to try it out! When I finally arrived at Banks Miniature Horse Farm I got my stool out (I am short) and my camera and here I go!  Five minutes into the shoot guess what  “Mrs. Grace” (me) does?  That’s right……..I feel off the stool and hit the ground!   Needless to say after getting lost and falling of the stool I was a little concerned about how my day was going to turn out!  

Once I picked myself up…the shoot was on!  Bridget had picked this farm as one of her locations because she spends lots of time there and has a miniature horse herself.  We had lots of fun… John Deere tractors, her personal truck, hay, fences, trailers and her boyfriend even joined us for a few shots!  But let me tell you….it got HOT quick!!  By the time we got to our second location I was drenched !  Thank goodness for the cooler with drinks I had in the back of my car! 

Although the day got off to a rough start, it turned out to be great and Bridget has LOTS of AWESOME images to select from!  Here is one of my favorites…
