IUI has been found to be much less effective than IVF and most specialist will do as yours did and steer you away from it. The risk just do not out way the results.

Talk to your OB/GYN and ask for some Estrace in a tube. Estrace is a natural estradiol that can be used as a lubricant for sex without harm to the mucus and it will not have a negative effect on the sperm. As stated above most women begin to need lubricant because their body is trying to tell them something. This could be an early sign of peri-menopause. It can effect women as early as their mid 20's.

I will have to disagree with you on this one. Chemicals of all types should be avoided if you are experiencing infertility. I am personally very sensitive to chemicals and there isn't a hair-salon in the world that is ventilated enough to keep you from inhaling fumes sufficient enough to create infertility. Alcohol, smoking and caffeine should be avoided as well.

Not everyone will have a sensitivity to chemicals, but you should err on the side of caution.

IVF is a catch 22 as you discussed. The fertility specialist is concerned about a successful conception and the OB/GYN is concerned about the health of the babies and the mother. Unfortunately that is the risk that most couples are willing to take to conceive and that is why the numbers are growing so fast. That is why every effort to conceive naturally should be the first priority of every couple. Also, if adoption in this country was not so full of red tape and expense you would probably see more couples go the adoption route vs. IVF.

I agree that a good diet is important if for no other reason than to improve your over all health. However, I believe that every diet should include what I like to call the ABC vitamins. Vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E and various other supplements can improve both male and female infertility. You can read more about this at:http://www.infertilityconcerns.com/improving-infertility-with-vitamins/

There is a reason why some of us need more lubricant. Our body is telling us something. Other than finding something outside that helps temporarily, would it help if we look at our lives and see how we can make adjustments so that the issue at hand actually resolves?

If we resolve it, we are helping the body to heal, rather than letting the imbalance stay and deteriorate.

My suggestion is to be sure you that you shop around for the best price. There are very successful centers that offer IVF and other fertility treatment for a lot less.
Best of luck to you!

hi
i wanna share my experience , ive been trying to get pregnant for about 8 months now, my doctor said that i had late ovulation so she put me on clomid for 4 months & duphaston as well as choriomon but with no luck, then she changed me into femara last month and asked me to do an HSG, by far it was the worst experience i have ever had!!! the pain was really unbarable, first the doctor spent 10 minutes trying to insert the speculum which was the begining of my pain, then when she injected the dye it was a pain that ive never experienced and when i got home the pain was persistant for the whole day, contineous cramping and i couldent even pee coz it was painful, and i also had fever for a short period so i took an antibiotic for that fearing from infection, anyway my tubes were perfectly open with no blockage and now im wondoring what to do else since nothing is wrong with me!! and my husband did his sperm test and it was ok, so anyone knows what the next step should be coz i really wanna have a baby so bad :(
