What's New

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sun, 28 Nov 2010 19:48:00 -0600

How about new haircuts!

Also, they have new pj's, hair bows, and light-up necklaces....THANKS GRANDIE & PAPAW!

Somebody thinks

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sat, 27 Nov 2010 19:50:00 -0600

there is something missing in this picture. (hint: it is not the rest of Kinsley's face)

Did you figure it out? Isn't she too cute??? I know so!

And The Benz has not come to terms still with the fact that Halloween is OVER! Nor does she care if she is in her undies in front of family, friends, strangers, or the camera.

(fyi - Kinsley's nicknames are as follows: The Benz, Benzer, Kinzer, and Pookie Pie)

Jordan and friends rocked out to the dance Wii game. That game rocks. I'm thinking more than Shred. Sorry Vicki! It's certainly more fun! Especially since I have beat Mr. Ed multiple times, and Mr. Ed has MAD dance skills.

Band kids do not only rock the field, but they rock the dance floor too. Well, maybe all except the girl that's off sync...or maybe the others were off??? Hmmm......

It's About Time

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Fri, 19 Nov 2010 12:04:00 -0600

for an update...don't you agree?

Well, Jordan was nominated (didn't win...but that's okay) for homecoming prince.

Averi and Kinsley wore their first homecoming mums. I also made one for Jordan's "date" but didn't take pictures. I'm not really sure what the point was of "taking" someone to homecoming since he couldn't sit with her because of the homecoming court stuff and band. But, what do I know???

HALLOWEEN!! Averi was a scary witch, and Kinsley was her pot. Although, Kinsley kept telling everyone that she was a kitty cat. Kinsley is still ringing our door bell and saying "trick or treat". Actually, she says "trick or treat, my smella my feet". I have NO idea who taught her that. ;)

Jordan was a candy dish. Pretty clever, huh? Yeah, that was my idea. Thank you very much.
And finally, do you know what this is? It's a 65 Convertible Ford Mustang that belongs to ME! My sweet hubby bought this baby for me. It's going to be B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L once it gets a little TLC. A little background story: When Ed & I were first dating, we went to a classic car show & I saw the prettiest 65 Convertible Mustang. I was in love. I really liked the car, too. ;)

Another First Day!

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Mon, 23 Aug 2010 19:53:00 -0500

Summer flew by! Averi is a big 1st grader now.

She was so excited for her first day!

Her friend and soccer teammate is in her class. They even sit right by each other. Could be trouble!

Jordan was so excited to once again have his picture taken for this special day.

After Jordan walked out of the house, Kinsley ran and opened the door & yelled out, "Jordan, love you too. Have a good day!" It was super duper sweet!

Do You Know What Today Was?

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Fri, 9 Jul 2010 19:17:00 -0500

If you said Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A you would be correct. This year we had cow noses. I'm sure there is another name for cow noses, but I'm not sure what that would be. Eddie saw the pictures and said, "Thanks for dressing my kids up like Hannibal Lecter". Maybe next year we will forgo the cow noses.

check out the tail!

Nie

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Fri, 9 Jul 2010 10:45:00 -0500

I visit Nie Nie's blog. She was just a regular mom of 4, enjoying life, enjoying her children, loving her husband. It changed in an instant when she was a passenger in a small plane that her husband was piloting/co piloting. She was burned severely and in a coma for 6 months. She now blogs about her daily life struggles and trying to be the mom and wife she was before the accident.

Today I dove into her archive on her blog...just randomly picked a month & found this post that had me dying laughing & so relating. Now, we don't use saucy language like the "f" word at our house. We go with "toot". To each their own, I guess.

I know Mr. Ed would totally love a gift like this. Someday Mr. Ed....maybe!

Averi graduated

And makes cool poses

Kinsley lost the 2 paci on a clip contraption. She is paci free.

We grew these. They are yummy!

Yeah, you guessed it. He just doesn't learn.

We did change it up a bit.

Shred time. Visit Vicki Courtney for a shred adventure and much more.

More shredding. Drumline vs. Flutes volleyball party.

He's so cute! And I'm so proud!

Mr. Ed made some yummy ice cream for Father's Day.

And got loved on by his girls!

Oh, Ken paid a surprise visit to Jordan's House of Blues & rocked out on the marimba. Hoping his girraffe found some food in there.

Mr. Ed's Latest Project ???

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Mon, 7 Jun 2010 19:53:00 -0500

All I know about this is the following:

- He ordered some stuff off of ebay

- He mounted it all on a board

- He can make certain parts move by pushing a button on the laptop

- It has something to do with the plasma cutter he bought a few weeks ago

- Whatever he is doing, he is having fun

I love this man!

Any Day Now and Other Random Stuff

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Thu, 28 Jan 2010 19:23:00 -0600

Averi's 2 year dream of losing a tooth will come true....any day now.

In honor of this milestone, I want to share a few stories about the tooth fairy:

Story 1:

I remember being so envious of my brother because he was collecting all this money from the tooth fairy. It seemed like weekly he was getting cash under his pillow. I decided that it was time to do something about this injustice and went into action. For some reason, my parents kept all of his teeth in a jar.....gross huh! Isn't the tooth fairy suppose to take the teeth? Anywho, in my 4 year old brain, a plan was formed. I'd take his teeth and put them under my pillow. I mean how smart could this tooth fairy character be - he wants old nasty baby teeth from children.

Well, apparently I forgot about my brilliant plan to defraud the TF the following morning and the morning after that. My dad discovered the 4 teeth scattered throughout my bed (yes I was a greedy little 4 year old). And that's when I learned the truth about the tooth fairy.

Story 2:

Jordan lost his first tooth on a cold rainy evening...almost bedtime. He was super excited about the impending visit from the tooth fairy. Well, the "tooth fairy" didn't have anything but a 20 dollar bill, and sadly it was way too cold, late, and rainy to make a trip to the store to "break" said 20. Jordan was in disbelief that the tooth fairy would leave him SO MUCH MONEY...all for a tooth!

Luckily for the tooth fairy, Daddy empties his change in a bowl every night. So, we shouldn't have any problems this go-round!

And I'm waiting for Mr. Ed to come up with a tooth fairy story, and he's got nothin'.

and random:

this is what happens when I put sheets on our bed (sorry i tried several times to make this font smaller and i can't figure it out)

and then this

dress up time is ALL THE TIME

we bake...sometimes (thanks Gran for the baking set for Ave!)

we dance

on coffee tables (that's what they're for, right?)

we eat at tables way too small for us or in diapers. I have pics of Ave also participating in this eating event in her undies, but she gets embarrassed easily so no pic...but it's a cute one!

we eat cake that matches our outfit

we play wii simultaneously

we live, love, and laugh.....

love my fam!

p.s. can you find the ken doll in one of the pics?

If you are not....

listening to Matt Chandler you are missing out. Big Time!

I posted a short video clip of one of his sermons earlier on this blog.

I'm listening to him constantly. He's real.

He's got brain cancer. Read this daily.

Pray for him daily.

Listen to him. I can't stop. He knows it's not about him but about Him. Lovely. Refreshing.

Love,

3 Things Averi Loves

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Fri, 8 Jan 2010 16:49:00 -0600

1. Daddy's queso (Kinsley is a fan now too)
2. The glass jelly jars/drinking glasses Grandma Glenda gave her

Happy Hallloween

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sat, 31 Oct 2009 20:44:00 -0500

Averi decided she was going as WordGirl from a PBS cartoon. Of course, the obvious costume for Kinsley would be Captain Huggy Face (WordGirl's sidekick).

This was the first year for homemade costumes, which made Halloween so much more fun!

Here is the "real" WordGirl and Captain Huggy Face...

And here are the girls...

Kinsley insisted on carrying her bucket the entire time and waving bye-bye 2 times or sometimes 3 to each house we visited.

Averi was super patient trick-or-treating with her sister. I think she had as much fun passing out candy when we got home.

If you are looking for a great place to store wrapping paper....

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sat, 10 Oct 2009 21:40:00 -0500

Mr. Ed apparently found one.

Now, this is not a passive-aggressive rant.

This is me showing how we function/dysfunction.

We had a super busy week and weekend filled with birthdays (2 to be exact and I'll post on those when I'm emotionally ready), Homecoming, marching competition, soccer game, benefit garage sale for my dad (I'll post on that when I'm emotionally ready), and all that topped off with me having a terrible cold and losing my voice.

Eddie was a super star and wrapped Averi's gifts while we (Granne, Jordan, and myself) took Averi and a couple of friends to Chuck-E-Cheese.

Eddie should always wrap gifts because he's got great technique. I'm a mess when it comes to wrapping.

I'm really wondering though, how long the wrapping paper will stay in the decorative vase and why Mr. Ed decided to stuff it in there after his wrapping job.

The really strange thing is that I haven't asked him, and he hasn't said anything about it either. It's just been patiently waiting to be reintroduced to its wrapping paper buddies in it's proper home in the wrapping-paper-plastic-holder.

I wonder if Mr. Ed will ever notice it.

(alright, that was a bit passive-aggressive)

P.S. You did read correctly...Jordan did go to Chuck-E-Cheese with us. I even shared a few tokens with him. I'm cool that way.

Do you have one of these?

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Thu, 8 Oct 2009 19:00:00 -0500

If not, I highly recommend you get one ASAP.

Couponing is Contagious

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sat, 19 Sep 2009 19:42:00 -0500

Eddie continues his Friday lunch tradition with Charles. They've been going strong for the last 5 years or more. A few months ago, they found a new restaurant that they love.

Guess what? I usually had a coupon for that place. So on Fridays, Eddie would always ask me for the B1G1F. Mr. Ed's certainly stepped up his couponing game.

So, I didn't pay much attention to the fact that Mr. Ed was asking for coupons for his Friday lunch with Charles, as the word coupon is probably one of the top ten most used words in our house. In fact, I didn't pay much attention to the last several months when I heard Mr. Ed make mention of Charles already having a coupon for their beloved Nico's.

It wasn't until this past Friday that I really realized....couponing is CONTAGIOUS.

As Mr. Ed left that morning for work, I did my wifely duty by reminding him to call me if he needed a coupon for lunch.

Well, around 11:30, I received a text: "need coupon"

I got online looking for the coupon for their regular lunch spot. No coupon!

We made phone contact. Yeah, people do actually use the phone to talk still.

I told Mr. Ed that the regular restaurant spot coupon was not valid, but I could get a B1G1F for a like restaurant. Mr. Ed was overjoyed because this was one of Charles' favs.

Here's where I get to the point. Hopefully.

Mr. Ed asks me to leave the q's in the mailbox, and he'll have Charles meet him at the house.

He then calls back....here it comes.

Ed: Well, Charles has already left cause he had to get gas, but he brought his coupons with him and has the El Paso one.

HE BROUGHT HIS COUPONS WITH HIM!

Now, I've always liked Charles. He's been a great friend to Eddie. He's a hard worker. He's a great softball player. BUT, he's bringing his coupons (plural...meaning multiple coupons) with him. He's gold! He's a gem. I'm over-joyed.

Sammi: He brought his coupons with him? So, Charles is couponing?

Ed: Yeah, he's been doing it since I started.

Sammi: Really??

Ed: Yeah, he loves it.

You know you've spread the couponing word when two grown men are planning their lunch around their coupons!

Love it. Shout out to Charles...HEY!

3rd Child - Letter of Apology

noreply@blogger.com (Sammi) — Sun, 13 Sep 2009 18:54:00 -0500

Dearest Kinsley,

I want to apologize to you for the hand-me-down-winter-jammies that daddy cut the sleeves and legs out of to make hand-me-down-winter-jammies-modified-summer-jammies.
I especially want to apoligize that mommy didn't get the matching "modified" set on you after bath time.
I also want to apologize for the many hours you have to spend each week sitting in your car seat while we are picking up big brother and/or big sister. I know it's torture.

You are adjusting well for sure.

I have taken notice that you have found some very neat ways to spend your time since big sister is no longer spending her days at home with us. I appreciate that you can find almost anything in the house and turn it in to your own personal McDonald's playground. Very creative.

I have also noticed that your "shoe shoe" fetish is improving a bit. You only have small relapses now and again. So proud!

Mommy and Daddy love you very much. You take the prize for sure in the "MOST AWESOMEST 3RD CHILD EVA" category.

Keep up the good work!

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

P.S.

I wanted to just give you one little survival tip for this house. NEVER fall asleep on the couch in the middle of the day.
