Cleveland isn't know for its Tech/Startup scene. So over the past couple of months, a few of my buddies decided to start a Meetup ( Startup Slam Cleveland ) with the goal of changing this perception. Yes, this is a huge endeavor. Changing anyone's stereotype of a city is pretty ambitious, but we decided that something, no matter how small, should be done. Eventually, we turned the Meetup into a mirco incubator ( Blazooka ) with the long term goal of growing the incubator on a larger scale. To start out we decide to build something that could, in the loosest of terms, become a viable product. It was more important to launch something quickly then to sit around and not make any decision at all. We threw around a lot of ideas and choose to do a Siri Humor site for our first project.

The decision was made on a lot of factors, primarily being: - The idea was simple and it could be launched relatively quickly. - There is competition for this niche, but we felt that we could make a better product. - The idea could, and eventually should, be turned into a mobile app. - The site can make money with custom Siri quoted T-Shirts, ads, and any potential income from a mobile app. - The three founders could all help develop it. If youre made of the sort of money that allows you to keep 500+ bottles of wine in your cellar then $49 a year for this sites premium plan will seem like a spit in the ocean.I can usually manage to rack up about 30 bottles pre-Christmas, however, they never seem to make it much past New Years Eve and although Ive often thought about keeping the labels in a scrapbook of the ones I like its always something someone else does.Anyway if wines your passion, as a collector as well as a guzzler I might add, then this one just might tickle your taste buds (feel free to spit after).

The whole notion of someone actually collecting beer sums up an image of a guy opening the fridge or cupboard door, staring admiringly at the bottles (and maybe even stroking a few) before closing it again still thirsty.In the loosest sense of the term I suppose that I am collector of beer but in the Homer Simpson mould. I collect a slab on a weekly basis and would you believe it I have to collect another load a week later!

I can understand people collecting vintage wine and I reviewed an app recently that helps people organize their cellar. Beer however, no matter how noble the saintly beverage is, needs drinking and enjoying a few seconds after its been removed from the trunk of your car.

Sorry for the pun but Im afraid this one leaves me a bit cold (Ed - there goes another rib...). Whats funny is that a lot of apps promote their ability to help you cut down on clutter such as scraps of paper and Post-It notes whereas this one actively encourages you to recreate the same squalid looking mess on your PC rather than stuck to your fridge door.If youre a Facebook user you can create an account and set up your own efridge and whats more you can post notes on any Facebook users efridge.Just why youd want to is a complete mystery to me. If youve already gone to the trouble creating a Facebook account to keep in touch with your friends, share photographs and flag events then why on earth would you want to duplicate the process by way of this strange little app.

OK so it might appeal to kids and I suppose anything that gets them learning what the cyber world has to offer shouldnt be disregarded as long as its free. The kids also might be the only ones who can comfortably work out how to use it as their young eyes might actually be able to focus on the video demonstration. On my laptop, on normal view the text was totally unreadable and on full screen it just turned into a blur and so it seems pointless to ask them to screen it at my local cinema in order that I might get the hang of the technical aspects!

This one looks like someone has finally convinced the banking fraternity that their best bet for future success is to completely disappear into the background and leave the sticky matter of customer service to people who actually give a damn!Lets face it the reputations of most banks are currently shot to bits. Its not just that theyve made our lives a financial misery through years of imprudent lending but generally theyve gone about it whilst being rude and unhelpful at the same time.

Simple represents quite a canny idea whereby it acts as the face of the bank whilst not actually being a bank. This in itself should not cause any risk issues as your money will always be held in FDIC-insured products with their partners who are bona fide financial institutions. Currently they use The Bancorp Bank and CBW Bank.

Yes you read it correctly. This rather humorous review app is called FMyBoss but in reality its really called F#%MyBoss. So what's it all about I hear you say? Well it's an app for venting and letting off a bit of steam. FMyBoss is a place you can go to sound off with all your grievances about your boss at work. All the dumb things that do and don't get done, all the stupid things they implement and all the things you zip up about when your boss turns up while you are chatting around the water cooler at tea break. FMyBoss turns out to be a rather hilarious app which allows disgruntled employees everywhere to blow off some steam by sharing stories of their horrible bosses. FMyBoss collects those stories and gives the FMB community a place where all concerned employees can go and enjoy them and vent themselves silly too. This is not a place where bosses will find any solace, trust me. But in the process we can all have a good laugh and relieve the stress of bottling up all that inbuilt frustration of not having anyone to share the inglorious stupidity of the people that pay you. They are fair game I reckon. Bosses give you hell all week long. Now it's your turn. Tell FMyBoss what your boss did and they will put him (or her) up on their wall of shame for the whole World Wide Web to see. Trust us, you're not alone here. Go ahead, rant it out. Give him hell. In a similar way to sites like AutocorrectFail you can't help but laugh at some of the stories and comments featured in FMyBoss. The funniest thing is that, no matter where you are in the world, the same themes keep cropping up time after time. And with some of them, what appears to be a major disaster to one person turns out to be an hilarious interlude for many others...well I thought so anyway. Overly ambitious?

I imagine the developers of this one have a huge ambition of their own and that is to actually develop something worth logging in to. As it stands I really cant see the point of it at all.Billed as a platform where you can "maintain a public list of all of your big ambitions in life" the site has been around since the middle of 2011. Looking at the members however they all seem to have registered within the last couple of months so its obviously taken a while to get off the ground. The issue I have though is that it hasnt actually got that far off the ground.

To be fair the blurb does say that they have big plans for the future and I think perhaps they should delay rolling it out to members until they actually have some useful features.

All you writers out there who rely on research and interviews to help you create that article or even longer piece of work will know what a grind it is getting all of it together.Getting it all together is one thing. Keeping it all together and putting it in a workable order is another but this one just might make your life a whole lot easier.I know, Ive been there. You have a file for newspaper and magazine cuttings, you copy and paste useful web content onto a Word document (or print it out and file it with the cuttings) and you have a drawer full of dictaphone tapes that hopefully youve labelled correctly.
