The Tattoo is a solid handset measuring 106 x 55 x 14mm with a weight of 113 grams and is available in a business grey color. It is only offered in a limited amount of colors.

Google is going to launch its new branded phone soon in 2010. According to reports, the phone is being launched in collaboration with smartphone maker HTC.

It is expected that the new Google phone will probably be thinner than Droid and iPhone already available in the market. A dedicated team in Mountain View will specifically design the Google phone.

Although no substantial news has been given regarding the specifications of the handset, but most probably, it will be manufactured by LG and Samsung.

Google is planning to sell the phone directly to customers as well as through retailers. This does suggest that Google does not have any major network partner on board, and would sell unsubsidized phones instead.

Also, as the phones will be sold outside the carrier system, it means that the Google phone could cost as much as $500, and would have to run on a SIM-friendly GSM network such as AT&T and T-Mobile.

Motorola has further expanded its line of mobiles by adding a new mobile to its range, the Motorola Crush.

This new phone from Motorola comes with a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, having a 240 x 400 pixels resolution. Along with a 2 megapixel camera, it also has a virtual QWERTY keyboard.

The Motorola Crush offers a high-end design, along with excellent call quality and multimedia features. And the best thing is that it has an affordable price. 

Some of the other key features include a music player, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot to increase the memory up to 16GB.

The Motorola Crush will be made available before the end of this year. However, no price has yet been announced for it.

The Nokia N900, which had been delayed due to some optimization of the Maemo 5 operating system, has finally been released in the US market.

It was announced by the company today that it has already started shipment to pre-ordered phones. The Linux-based Maemo platform would give the users a wide range of connectivity options.

Key Features

The N900 offers storage of 32GB, with access to 3G data networks, mail connectivity, websites book marking, social communities, images, music, multitasking capabilities, and much more.

Moreover, the phone is also a powerful computer, offering a great experience no matter how many applications are running.

Open Source Platform

Having an open source platform, it provides simple ways to build applications for the device, including podcasting, Twitter and instant messaging solutions.

It also supports web browser based on Mozilla Technology, which comes with support for Adobe Flash 9.4 offering a more enhanced experience.

Some of the other features include a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the option to personalize up to four screens, a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash.

Today, Dell officially announced its plan to enter the smart phone market. According to Dell, it will enter the competition by releasing the Dell Mini 3.

Mini 3 is basically a range of smart phones, which has been planned to be released by China Mobile and Brazilian Mobile network Claro.

It was further revealed by Dell that the full details of the mobile phones will be given when the devices become available in the outlets.

The new range will be built around the Google Android Operating System. This will basically be a logical extension of Dell’s consumer product evolution over the past two years, probably as it was in the forefront of 3G embedding connectivity in net books.

The new range will be launched in the US as well, although there seems to be no decision regarding which Operating System it will carry.

Dell seems reluctant to give further details; therefore we will just have to wait for the release of the much-awaited smart phone.

Samsung has launched the second Android powered mobile phone, the i5700 Galaxy Spica.

The Galaxy i7500 was released earlier this year. It was the first phone to run on the Android operating system that wasn’t manufactured by HTC.

After the launch of i7500, many other mobile phone companies such as T-Mobile, Sony Ericsson, LG and Motorola have announced to employ Android mobile operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Spica

Also known as the Galaxy Lite, the Samsung Galaxy Spica is a little bigger and heavier than i7500. The touch screen is of the same size, i.e. 3.2 inch, having the same 320 x 480 pixel resolution, but the memory has been cut down from 8GB to 180MB. However, it can be expanded with microSD memory cards.

The differentiating factor is its support of DivX files. DivX is one of the more common formats of downloaded video files.

Powerful Android Mobile Phone

Having 800MHz processor, it is the most powerful Android mobile phone, according to Samsung. It is 3G supported, having WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, but without FM radio.

The camera has the resolution of 3.2Mega pixel. The battery of the Spica is said to provide an impressive 11.5 hours of talktime.

It was recently disclosed on the company’s site that the Sony Ericsson’s much awaited, first mobile on the Android platform, the Xperia X10, will not go on sale until February.

According to the reports, the phone would be available from January. But the pre-order page on the website for the X10 now indicates that it will not go on sale until February 10th.

Some of the main features of the highly awaited phone includes an 8.1 megapixel camera, with smile detection and touch focus, and an impressively large 4-inch touch screen for viewing.

The smartphone is 3G enabled, allowing fast web browsing. Moreover,  A-GPS, pre-installed Google applications and a superfast 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will allow the owners to use multiple applications simultaneously.

Some of the other main releases due from Sony Ericsson in months to come include the Kurara and Susan camera phones, both of which are set for release early next year.
