But this article does not discuss how and when the company was established, this article talk about Steve Jobs, the face of the company. The man who took Apple from near bankruptcy, to making it the number one company in terms of computer sales, music sales, and phone sales. Computers ranging from the iMac to the Mac Pro. Music ranging from the iPod Shuffle to the iPod touch. Phone sales ranging from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS.

Steve Jobs left Apple in 1985 after the board of Directors over threw him. After 12 years working in another company he established, he came back to Apple in 1997 (Stock being at a record low of 15$). He came back to be the interim CEO, and was presented in the 97 Macworld Expo in Boston. In that keynote speech he gave, he introduced Bill Gates to the live audience and made an announcment that Microsoft has purchased $150 million in Apple stock, and that all new Macintosh computers will feature Microsoft office and Internet explorer as the default web browser. Within the next year, Steve Jobs stopped production on all Apple computers that were being sold, and stopped the production of the Apple Newton (A PDA). He fired most of the computer engineers in the company, only to keep the best and bring the best to work on future projects.
In 1998, Steve Jobs presented the first part that changed Apple into what it became today. The iMac. The iMac was designed under the supervision of Jonathan Ive, the senior Vice President of Industrial design. Ive is also known for desiging the iPod and the iPhone (We'll get to that later). The iMac had a 15 inch screen, 4 gb hard drive, and 32 mb's of RAM. The iMac got rid of the floppy disk drive, and just went with the CD tray. The iMac sold about 800,000 units in the first 5 months, and brought Apple back into the scene and pushed up the company's profit. The iMac continues being the best selling desktop from Apple, and it has gonna through many changes accross the years.

But the thing that brought Apple's profits to the top and made the company what it is today, was the iPod. Under the supervision of Steve Jobs and designed by Jonathon Ive, the iPod dominates the MP3 player marketat about 70%, with the 30% going to the Zune, Creative, San-Disk, Sony, and other companies. In 2001, Steve Jobs introduced the iPod to the public with a 5 GB hard drive, and the most user-friedly software, something that put all other mp3 players to shame. the iPod put "1000 song in your pocket". 8 years later, the iPod has changed in many ways, coming in many different shapes and sizes, and over a hundred million were sold.

In January 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone in a keynote address. The iPhone was seen as a "Break through Internet Device, an iPod, and a Phone". The iPhone was only released in the USA through AT&T. The iPhone was in the works for over two years, until Jobs approved it's final form factor that came out in 2007. It was eventually released in several other countries around the world. In 2008, the iPhone 3G was introduced with the app store, which injected even more billions of dollars into Apple and pushed profits even higher. With the iPhone 3G being so much better than the previous version, the 3GS was released a year later to show how much faster it is and much more powerful than the 3G.

Steve Jobs has also supervised many other projects including the Macbook, the Macbook Pro, the Intel partnership, the introduction of the Apple stores, and so much more. Without steve Jobs, we'd all be using a Creative MP3 players, or using a Dell laptop, and not a Macbook. Whats more to come from Apple? We're gonna have to wait and see within the next couple of months.

If you would like to know more about Steve Jobs, be sure to check out the book Inside Steve's Brain by Leander Kahney, the guy who wrote Cult of Mac and Cult of iPod.

Grand Theft Auto coming to the iPhone

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is coming to the iPhone and iPod touch this fall. But I can start off by saying, it's amazing. Most video gamers think of games that are based of comic books are really bad. And for the most part, that is true. But this is not the case when playing Arkham Asylum. This game is truly a master piece, and a lot of time and hard work has been put into it. It constantly keeps the player aware of everything that is surrounding Batman, trying to make the experience of playing this game even better by any means possible.

The game starts off by Batman capturing the Joker and taking him to Arkham Asylum, home to all the insane and demented characters that have spread fear all over Gotham city. But, with the help of Batman, these maniacs made there way to Arkham Asylum, creating somewhat of a "hell on earth". As Batman arrives to Arkham and drops the Joker, he realizes that all of this was setup, and it was a trap in order to lock Batman in Arkham, and try to survive by fighting off all the villians that have been set free by The Joker and several other characters.

While playing as Batman, you have a lot unique gadgets you can use the will help you in progressing through the game, finding clues, and solving riddles. You can also switch to a detective mode when you want to analyze things to find people or object that you will need to progress in the story. As you progress, you will get to meet a lot of famous villians that have been featured in the Batman comics for many years, and you will also be able to get to know them a lot better by finding information about them all over Arkham. At the same time, you get many flashbacks as Batman, reminding him through the many hard times he has had as a little boy, and as a grown up.

One feature that stands out, are these question marks that have been scattered all over Arkham Asylum by Edward Nigma (The Riddler). You will miss out a lot of you don't. It's already been called the best game of 2009 so far, and it's also broke a world record (Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever).

I rate this game a 9/10.

Snow Leopard and pricing in Kuwait

I'm sure most Mac users have heard about Apple's new operating system, Snow Leopard. It's not really new, it's just a tuned up and more refined version of Mac OS X Leopard. What I wanna talk about, is how the Apple stores in Kuwait continue to steal peoples money. And what's funnier, is that people don't even notice it. If you're currently running Leopard, you can purchase the upgrade disc for 29$. Which is About 8 KD. That is not bad. I purchased the family pack off Amazon, which cost me 49$. Around 14 kd. Now, I read on certain blogs, that some stores are going to be charging the family pack 50kd. They literally just switched the currency signs from this $ to this KWD, and added an extra KD. Why do Apple stores constantly keep ripping people off? Don't let me get into the price of their laptops. Anyways guys, I suggest you go to Amazon.com, and purchase it from there. 3 kd shipping when ordering from Aramex, adds up to 11 KD, or 17 KD respectively. Make the right decision guys.

PS3 Slim: Part 1

Many of you have seen the new and redesigned version of the Playstation 3, that is going to be sold on September 1st. A touch screen computer device that will change...The World. As time went by, the iPhone came out, and the amount of rumors regarding this Tablet computer dropped drastically. People kept saying the iPhone is the "Touch screen computer". As time went by, rumors started popping up again, some even showing pruposed release dates, but none of them ever came true. Just recently, within the month of July, constant info keeps on popping up about this highly anticipated device, and now it may be a reality. It hasn't been announced yet, and people already know who is making the device, and when it might be released. Many apple "insiders" have stated that this product will be unveiled in September at the annual updated of the iPod, and may see a released date sometime in December, just in time for the Holiday Season in the USA. The company that is supposedly assembling this new product is none other than Foxconn, the same company that assembles all the iPhones in the world. The device would have a 9 inch screen. But what's bugging me, is how would someone be able to hold it up with two hands and work on it? Doesn't seem too practical. Have you heard about the guy that worked at Foxconn who lost a newer version of the iPhone? What if he really lost this Tablet Computer? We are just over a month away until we reach September 9th, the date that the iPods are unveiled showing their new looks. And speaking of iPods, info has been leaked that the iPod Nano and the Touch will both be carrying built in Cameras. Chinese manufacturers have been producing silicone covers that show the exact dimensions, and holes that would be open for these cameras. Below is one cover I found.
I'll be sure to keep you updated.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

This is a clip from the last movie Heath Ledger was working on.

Unlock your iPhone 3G/3Gs

If you have a locked iPhone 3G or 3GS and would like to unlock it, feel free to contact me at admin@blackberrykuwait.com. Here is how you can solve the problem:

1- Backup your contacts and Delete the BBM 5.0 by: going to Menu -> Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications and deleting BBM 5.0
2- Visit this website http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/devices/#tab_tab_update on a Windows laptop
3- Enable the ActiveX controller on the browser (yellow thing that will pop up on the top)
4- Connect your blackberry via USB and click Update at the bottom ***
5- You will then get a list of applications that you could install or uninstall. Select what is necessary and click next. Be sure you select Blackberry core applications.... Read More
6- Select any application you need to add or remove, and be sure to check blackberry messenger at the bottom of the list.
7- Next next next, and there you go! Restore your contacts and your done!

*** After this step, the blackberry application loader will run and update itself and take whatever steps it needs to take, just let it run.

-It looks long, but its simple, fast and user-friendly. So, no worries!:)

Benzema's first Goal at Real Madrid.

Link:

Cute or Weird?

Apple's website back in 1983

Would the Apple Inc. website looked like this back in 1983? If so, tell me in the comments, because I do not want to put up the instructions if know one is interested.

UPDATE: Here's how to do it:

1. Set the country of the iTunes stores as USA. On the main page, you will see on the bottom that it says My store: set it as United States.

2. Go to the app store, and click on any free app. Think click "Get App". As soon as you click that, you will be asked to sign in or create account. Create an account, and pick your Username and Password.

3. For the address, you need to put an American address. Preferably an address that you may have for Airamax or Ushopweship.

4. For the billing info, you will see that you have visa and other types of cards, and at the end, you will see "None". Click on that.

5. That's it! You now have an American iTunes account.

Now, the only way to put in credit, is through the iTunes cards. Or if you have an American visa, you can use that. But you can not use your Kuwaiti Visa. I suggest you head to Amazon, and stack up on the iTunes cards. Plus, only American iTunes cards can work if you are registered in the American store.
