Little Boots recently canceled some of the dates on her current US tour, but that didn’t include her show last week at LA’s El Rey Theater. Below are some awesome pics of the set, which included lazers! And masks! More at Los Anjealous.

MGMT played a secret show last night at NYC’s Mercury Lounge under the name “The Smirking Worm,” and some website called Youtube taped the whole thing! I just made myself LOL. The band debuted tracks from their upcoming sophomore album, Congratulations, including “Flash Delirium,” which I’m still trying to wrap my head around. Below are performances of new tracks, “Siberian Breaks,” somewhat of a clusterfark, and “Brian Eno,” which might so far be my favorite.

The majority of Dignan Porch’s upcoming debut album, Tendrils, features tracks that are less than two minutes long. The UK indie band’s first official video for “On a Ride” that premiered on Fader last week ends before the 1:30 mark. The short, repetitive, lo-fi tracks are addictive, and perfect for looping. “On a Ride” is above, and 3 more 90 second tracks are streaming on the band’s Myspace. Wonder what their 15 minute live show is like.

Tendrils is due March 30 on Captured Tapes. Album covers this cool can only come from mum’s old photos.

Here Lies Love, the upcoming concept/tribute album by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim about Imelda Marcos (the First Lady of the Philippines) got a video premier today on Boing Boing for the track, “Please Don’t,” featuring Santogold on vocals (above). Byrne told BB, “there are six of these videos that have been completed for this project. Most, like this one, use news and archival footage to, well, show that every word of the song is true!”

He also said of Santogold’s performance on the track that “by the time you get to the chorus, she owns it.” She does (BTW, where is her sophomore album?).

The double disc album also features vocals from Tori Amos, Sia, Cindy Lauper, and Martha Wainwright, and is due April 6 on Nonesuch. Stream the entire album below, via DavidByrne.com.

She & Him’s Volume Two isn’t out until next Tuesday, but NPR is offering up a full stream of the new record from Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. The follow-up to 2008’s Volume One was written completely by Deschanel (she wrote all but 4 tracks on the first record), and features more of the duo’s uber-charming, retro pop.

Summit on the Summit is a group of actors, musicians, and friends of singer, Kenna, who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to create awareness for the global clean water crisis. Lupe Fiasco, Santogold, Emile Hirsch, and Jessica Biel were among the celebrities involved with the Summit. The peak of Kilimanjaro is 19,340 above sea level, and their hike is a total of 40 miles around the mountain.

I sincerely hope this Playaz Circle video is one of the 45 videos Lil Wayne shot a couple of weekends ago, because it’s pretty boring. But I’m enjoying the track. Is this the first hip hop beat with a theremin on it? “Big Dawg” is from the southern duos sophomore album, 2009’s Flight 360: The Takeoff. Note: this is no “Duffle Bag Boy.”

As a huge fan of Kate Nash’s Made of Bricks, when I first heard “I Just Love You More” from her upcoming sophomore album, My Best Friend Is You, I had questioned exactly where she was going with this new record. Even Karen O doesn’t squeal like that! However, after hearing the first official single, “Do Wah Doo,” and watching the colorful, Kate Nashified new video, I’m feeling much better about it. I’m also pretty confident I’ll come to love the squealing.

My Best Friend Is You is due April 19 in the UK.

MTV recently got some footage of Broken Bells at The Boat, the famous studio in Los Angeles (Madonna, David Byrne, and The Sex Pistols are among the clientele), performing “The Ghost Inside” from their self titled album. Danger Mouse and The Shins’ James Mercer play here with a full band (DM on drums). Sounding pretty flawless live. Starting to wish I had made an effort to get some Troubadour ticktets for Sunday (SOLD OUT).

The National gave a “super early preview” on Jimmy Fallon of the opening track, “Terrible Love,” from their upcoming full-length, High Violet. According to Stereogum, this hadn’t even aired as of yesterday. Nothing shocking to report here. Trumpets dance among a calm sea of guitar and piano as Matt Berninger’s voice scratches through the smooth surfaces gallantly, giving them life.

It’s incredible, or whatever.
