This is the perfect look for sobbing in a dirty parking lot. Over-sized sunglasses and a cigarette complete the look. I’ve been having a rough patch this past couple of weeks, but I’m getting over it. New beginnings are something to look forward to, right? One of the reasons why I love online shops is because of their lax rules of return. Sometimes Moustache Man and I will order a few things just to try them on and see if they work out. We ordered some stuff from Revolve and I tried on MM’s trouser shorts because they were too small for him. I love how they fit me with just the right amount of slouch. Alas, I couldn’t keep them; MM needs them more than me!

Long time no see! The move went incredibly well and I’m happy to announce that the new place already feels like home. I’ve been in a transitional period, not just with the move, but also with career minded decisions. Hopefully, everything will work out. In the meantime, I can’t wait to catch up with all of you!

XS Look: Doom Gloom

My friend, H has always been really supportive of EXTRASKINNY. So when she suggested a collaborative project, I was ecstatic. Here is one of two Mike & Chris dresses she lent me to pull together a look. I used layers, but sparingly so that I could show off the cool skirt shape. I’m not sure if the outfit is her style, but hope she likes it nonetheless!

Moustache Man and I are moving out in a week, so I’ve been a bit distracted. Packing and unpacking is the pits, but I want to get it over with so we can finally get settled!

XS Look: Touchdown

This outfit came together one night and made me think of a football uniform. I think the prominent shoulders and racing stripes create the athletic effect. I wanted the look to be obvious rather than nuanced, so I added eye black. I was really excited about my uniform, but quite nervous about getting caught taking photos. Fortunately Moustache Man and I pulled it off, narrowly escaping an encounter with one of our neighbors. I can’t imagine what he would have thought!

XS Look: Signal Antennae

I’ve been distracted for the past few weeks looking for a new place to live. Well, guess what? Moustache Man and I begrudgingly trekked to the zillionth apartment today and it’s THE one! Everything just fell into place: we knew immediately when we walked in the door, the landlord loved us (or rather just MM) and we got approved the same day. It is such a relief to know where we’re going at the end of the month. I’ll be a bit antsy until we get settled, but we are homeless no more!

This is the second time I’ve belted my Rachel Comey top. Here’s the first. I think it flows quite nicely over my high-waisted booty shorts (whilst hiding some of the booty). The browns of my belt and boots don’t match, but surprisingly I don’t mind. What about you?

I’ve got my blinders on. For the past week, Moustache Man and I have been searching for a new place. Exciting, but very stressful! We were intent on staying in the old neighborhood, but have a new location in our sights. Thus, the blinders. But I’m not too worried; Moustache Man has a penchant for online scavenging. He found these jeans for me when I was looking for some grey skinnies. I love the grommets, textured inseam and the way the zippers jangle when I walk. Wish us luck!

Ribcage was a look styled tight on the top and loose at the bottom. Here’s the reverse. When I first wanted to make a leather skirt, Moustache Man was doubtful. “Won’t it look like a Whitesnake video?” I didn”t even know what that meant. But I made it anyway and the fact that I’ve worn it more than five times is quite a feat. As for you similarly non pop-cultured folks, a Whitesnake video = long haired singer + sexy girl in mini. Well, what’s wrong with that (except for the long haired singer)?

XS Look: Ribcage

My ribcage has been keen on showcasing itself. Unfortunately, my belly button is fat. So the simple conclusion was that I needed a crop top. Enter my knight in silky Loeffler Randall. This Opening Ceremony bustier has everything I want in a crop top: comfort, unique details, and versatility. I paired it with every high-waisted item in my closet, but liked this one the best. I think the movement of the umbrella skirt juxtaposes nicely with the body-con nature of the top. Thanks twentythirtyforty.net! You saved my belly button from shame.
