EVDO will not work outside your home circle

Today I have a small update regarding EVDO. Actually I faced this problem when I was travelling outside Kolkata.According to Customer Care EVDO will not work outside your home circle. Cause BSNL till now not started the roaming facility for both EVDO as well as Data Card.

After a long time today I came up with a good tricks for BSNL EVDO Datacard. It is applicable for all other datacards like Airtel Datacard/ Reliance Datacard etc. Those who doesn't get full EVDO network on their place, this trick will definitely help you out guys. I have also tried this one and got improvement of network as well as Speed. The steps are given in the Pics . Just follow these steps and let me know your comments. From last few weeks I have noticed that my blog is getting lots of visitors inquiring about the BSNL/EVDO/3G service in kolkata. Earlier I have posted a few posts on them. Hi everyone ! Today I thought I will write a post on a important Windows Vista Update. I probably already mentioned that I surf internet using wireless data card and my OS is Vista Home Basic. While surfing microsoft's home website I suddenly came to know about this update. This one is a very important update from Vista for those who use DataCard (BSNL EVDO/Reliance Datacard/Tata Indicom/Airtel DataCard) and Vista as a OS. It will not come with your automatic windows updates, you have to download it separately from Microsoft's website.

By installing this update to resolve an issue where the throughput of a 3G Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) Data Card is reduced on a computer running Windows Vista. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

This update is provided to you and licensed under the Windows Vista License Terms.

You all know April 1st is coming. Its time to make fool your friends. But how ? This Question came also to my mind. Then I thought to make them fools by giving attracting offers on their mobile phones by simply sending SMS. But they all know my mobile Nos. So I need a special no. But its not possible for me to get register for a new nobile connection for only this thing. Then i suddenly came across a good free SMS site.

My Experience after using BSNL EVDO Data Card in Kolkata

After using BSNL EVDO for more about 15 days in Kolkata I thought to share my views and idea and my overall experience with you. Hope this will definitely help you to choose your data card provider. Earlier I used to surf internet by BSNL Brodband 2MBPS connection. That was amazing. I was then able to watch youtube videoes online and was able to download with a constant 40-50 KBPS speed. But now I am using BSNL EVDO cdma datacard to connect with internet.It comes with 144 kbps. I thought it is enough. BSNL claims that it has a connectivity upto 144 KBPS. But truly speaking its get connected with only 37 kbps speed, means you have a really poor connection which is worst than the BSNL Dial Up connection(56 kbps). I am not comparing it with my earlier 2MBPS connection but i expect that using BSNL data card I will be have a download speed of atleast constant 10 kbps by DAP but it only gives average 5 kbps..Sometimes like at late night it gives a good speed. It shows that it is connected with max 200 kbps but real story is that the speed lasts for only few seconds. I don't know how fast is BSNL's EVDO Datacard, that claims to be connect with 2mbps..So, my experience shows if you want to connect to internet only for surfing purpose then BSNL EVDO rocks,otherwise its really a poor one from BSNL,,..

This is my first blog and so i am very much new to this blogging. I don't know how to make your blog's position higher in Google search engine before writing this topic.Only I have an idea that if you want to make a good number of constant reader for your blog then you need a quality no post and also to attract new reader's to your blog you need a higher ranking in search engine (Top list).
This post is not a new one or not a self invented post of my mine.You may rather tell it a small knowledge gathered by me after several day searching search engine on this topic. I, therefore, think to write a really helpful and gist idea about this topic.

Before proceed this topic further you need to know that some basic idea like what is Page rank,What is Back Link etc. This is actually nothing. In a short you can tell PR (Page Rank) is proportional to with your ranking in Search Engine.Higher you have the PR,higher you have the chance to get the 1st position in a search result.

Now question comes how you will be able to increase your page rank ? Its also very simple , its proportional to back link of your blog.Now what is back link?? It is the source of your blog link mean to say, how an internet user get your blog's link in internet while surfing. He/she may get your link from a search engine/directory , from one of your friend's blog etc etc.. So,its really an important parameter for measuring your blog's page rank.

Is Google's GMAIL Drive less user friendly?

In my earlier post related on Microsoft's Sky Drive I mentioned about Google's G mail Drive. GMail Drive uses the inbox of the Gmail account to store files and creates a virtual filesystem on top of the Gmail account, enabling the user to save and retrieve files stored on the Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive adds a new virtual drive to the computer under the My Computer folder, where the user can create new folders, copy and drag-and-drop files to, but does not give an actual drive letter, such as C:, preventing its use in all DOS applications, and some older Windows applications.
Multiple user can simultaneously log in to this drive and use the same files at a time.At 1st though Google bring this new technique of online accessing the files but after launching the Microsoft's SKY Drive it is lagging with some features with SKY DRIVE.

Advantage of SKY DRIVE over Gmail Drive
1.Storage of SKY DRIVE is 25 GB
2. Max size of adding each file in SKY DRIVE is 50 mb where its only 20 mb for Gmail drive
3.SKY Drive has password protection security.
4.You can share your uploaded file links with your friends and the download speed is quite good.
5.In Gmail Drive you can't able to upload .exe and .zip files but in SKY DRIVE you can't face these type of problems.

Google earlier launched G mail Drive - A virtual disk space on top of your G mail account that enables you to save and retrieve your files stored on your G mail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. I will very soon post a details information on that on separate post.

Here now Microsoft comes with its SKY Drive with a huge 25 GB space. Microsoft launched this service to access your important data at any time anywhere. You need a hot mail/ Live id to use this feature of Microsoft. After signing in you will get four folders by default but you can easily create folder as per your wish and to this folder upload your videos/photos / docs etc .Though you can upload 5 files at a time simultaneously but the maximum size of each file should be 50 mb.

One of the best feature I think, that you can easily share your files to anyone by just sharing the link. It has also a password protection security to your files so that you can share your files only those who knows the password. I haven't upload any file to this drive but can share a file to you of a another user.Its a link of mp3 of Oscar winning Film Slumdog Millionare. Song name JAI HO.

BSNL EVDO internet SPEED in Kolkata

hi,,as earlier i mentioned that in Kolkata BSNL launched two types of data card.
1. EVDO Data card with speed of 144 kbps avilable in entire Kolkata
2.Another is with speed of 2 mbps only for Saltlake / Rajarhat.

i am using the 1st one. but i can able to connect with only speed of 3o kpps , measued by the calcutta telephone site. Here is the link.
And the download speed is near about average 4.5 to 6.5 kbps (download accelarator). so using internet with this BSNL datacard i only understand it is only good for surfing not good for movie or video downloading. u can only download mp3 songs cause they are in much more small size (4-5 mb). But still it takes near about 25 mins to complete the download..so don't hope for brodband download speed by this wireless internet...its only good for browsing the internet.

Still it rocks.hope BSNL will update its 3G network very soon so that we can get atleast 10 kbps constant download speed in DAP (Download Accelator Plus)..

hello everyone.most of u already aware of that bsnl has launched 3g in india and they are also providing wireless internet connection by DATA CARD like most other network provider (Airtel,Reliance).But truly speaking BSNL's monthly rental for wireless internet unlimited plan is much more cheaper than other providers.In kolkata it only charges Rs 227 per month while other network provider's charge for the same is near about Rs 1000 pm.In kolkataBSNL launched 2 types of data card.
1st one is known as BSNL EVDO with upto 144 KBPS speed and its one time cost is Rs2912/ only.You can also take this by a fixed Rental per month along with extra unlimited plan internet charge.This device is available in most of the BSNL EXCHANGE and BSNL Franchisee.
And the other one is only for RAJARHAT and SALTLAKE Area.Its come up with 2 MBPS Speed and its cost near about Rs3500/. I am presently using the 1st one(as am not a resident of Saltlake or Rajarhat area).So I can suggest you if u hav a laptop and if you want to stay connected 24x7 anywhere then simply go for either one of the devices of BSNL. Don't go for such Reliance/TATA/Airtel Datacard,those hav a much more highet rental than BSNL.
Below these are the few info that you need to know while purchasing this USB EVDO DATA CARD Of BSNL
Documents Needed-Resident Proof,Photo Identity Proof, Passport Size photo
One time cost- Rs 2912/ (144kbps) or RS3500 (2MBPS) only for Saltlake and Rajarhat
