this here’s a blog for all the fellas.

i’d like to take a little time to shout out to all of our guy friends who have been following this little blog of mine religiously since day one. unfortunately, i’m not fully confident that their intentions were genuine, as they mostly use the material they read to harass steve. (apparently there was one particularly lengthy email chain after my post about votive candles.) but i love and appreciate the support all the same and cannot WAIT to rock the dance floor with them all on saturday.

bryan is one of our awesome mary washington friends. although he was a year younger than us at mwc, he was an avid soccer fan and friend to stevie throughout their college years. steve was a groomsman in bryan’s beautiful va beach wedding to his bride, jenn (also a fellow eagle!). the two live down in va beach where jenn is a teacher and, when the boys aren’t fiercely competing in fantasy football or have their phones on speaker as they play each other in madden, bryan is a public accountant. we are so excited to have both bryan and jenn be a part of our big day! as a wedded vet, i’m counting on bryan to make sure steve gets to the altar and that all boys behave (somewhat) appropriately in my absence : )

it’s monday of wedding week and we are mostly feeling good (the bride is slightly under the weather but hoping to bounce back quickly!). there really aren’t too many more projects left to complete and although i didn’t quite attain my goal of planning completion by weekend’s end, i got pretty darn close. we are anxiously awaiting the completion of stevie’s wedding suit and the arrival of the westford ferraiolos (i don’t care that they live in newburyport now)! hope all of our guests are getting ample beauty rest for this weekend’s festivities : )

one! week!

WHOA.

i spent the morning of day eight with the wp’s and left our meeting feeling totally organized and like we are in the best possible shape for next saturday. i also chatted with the incredible holly who gave me the very best quote of the day:

she said to me, “miracles are happening.”

that is complete music to a bride’s ears and i instantly got 100 times more excited about our incredible florals (if that was even possible). to celebrate how confident i am with the vision and the capability of our incredible dream team to execute it, i ceremoniously took one last jaunt around the wedding blogs and (gasp!) unsubscribed to about 90% of them – i couldn’t let them all go. my google reader has shrunk significantly but, to be honest, i’m kind of sick of looking at other people’s weddings and reading to experience my OWN.

so a very happy weekend, all!! we are so excited to see and celebrate with you this time next week.

thanksgiving is a week from yesterday (eek!) and a week from today is the day before it all goes down!

steve and i are getting more excited and less stressed with each day that passes and day nine was a particularly great one with all of my american university career center coworkers tossing us one heck of an office wedding shower. they have all been dying to meet steve (i’ve managed to work there for over three years and keep him completely hidden!) and thus truly outdid themselves. we had such a fun time!

our weekend is going to be chock full of more errands and wedding to-do’s than i was hoping for commencing with a mid-morning meeting with the wp’s today – my very last one (crazy!). i am still vowing to be free of planning by tomorrow at midnight. think i can do it??

so many wonderful things clicked into place on day ten!

we got word that steve’s illusive wedding suit is due to arrive today or friday (hallelujah!) at nordstrom. we finalized flowers and our amaze florist placed the order for our blossoms. i picked up our favors (hint: they’re edible). we heard that steve’s grandmother is coming from portugal on monday so she will be present on 11-27! this is big news that we’re both really happy about. and finally, steve’s awesome cousins gifted us with a fantastic combination of portuguese wine for our guests to enjoy at the reception.

what good news will day nine bring? because we are only accepting good news at this time.
