Tech Q&A: Allocating Memory For Virtual Machine Application

Q: I just purchased a 24-inch iMac with 3GB of RAM, and i am planning to load VMware Fusion into it, with Windows XP for work purposes. It is my understanding that I need to allocate some of my RAM to the virtual machine. Do you have any recommendations about how much to allocate? Also once I allocate RAM to the virtual machine (1GB) does this mean that only the remaining RAM (3GB) will be available to run my MAC even if I am not running that virtual Machine? Or will the full 3GB in my example be available to my Mac when I am not running the virtual machine? Do you think I should get more RAM?

A: Allocating RAM in OS X isn't like in the “classic” Mac OS, where you’d have fixed parcels of memory. OS X will swap out memory from one application to another (and from RAM chips to the virtual memory swap file on the hard drive) as needed without any intervention by you.. The only setting you’d have to adjust would be in Fusion itself; that program, like other virtual-machine environments, will let you designate how much memory the simulated Windows machine should have… I’d give it 1GB, since that will greatly improve your “enjoyment” of xp While still leaving plenty to spare for OS X even with Fusion in the foreground.

1. You login into Blogger Account AA and invite your friend as an author to your blog (Navigate your mouse to settings > permissions).

2. Your friend login into his/her email (Account BB) and accepts your invitation.

3. You login into Blogger Account AA (Navigate your mouse to settings > permissions) and change your friend to an Administrator of your blog.

4. Your friend login into Blogger Account BB and deletes you as an Administrator to your blog.

There was no official confirmation of the reported death and spokespersons for Jackson could not be reached for comment.
"We've just learned Michael Jackson has died," TMZ said.
"Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the entertainment site said.
It added, "A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived."
Earlier, the Los Angeles Times said the singer had been rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital by fire department paramedics who found him not breathing when they arrived at the singer's home.
The newspaper said paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene before taking him to the UCLA Medical Center hospital.
Jackson had been due to start a series of comeback concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer, whose hits included "Thriller" and "Billie Jean," had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months.
The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within minutes of going on sale in March.
His lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, makes him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.
He lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation.
There were concerns about Jackson's health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.

Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. Five Jackson boys -- Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael -- first performed together at a talent show when Michael was 6. They walked off with first prize and went on to become a best-selling band, The Jackson Five, and then The Jackson 5.
Jackson made his first solo album in 1972, and released "Thriller" in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-10 singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide.
The next year, he unveiled his signature "moonwalk" dance move while performing "Billie Jean" during an NBC special.
In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together.
Jackson has three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, known for his brief public appearance when his father held him over the railing of a hotel balcony, causing widespread criticism.

Recently, I have tried to directly copy paste JavaScript ads code into my blogger template and gave me an error message look like this:

Some case happened when blogger xml parser seems to valid JavaScript code in blogger template without displaying an error message at all. So, I think that all is valid code until I discover the ads block nothing to gets displayed. I thought that this may be an issue with the adsense code. So, I tried to insert other ads code such as AdBrite and Chitika codes but they didn’t work as well.

Solution for this problem:
I converted all the special characters in the JavaScript into HTML entities. I replaced characters "<" to "<" and ">" to ">" and etc…

For your info, there are around 5,000 web directories on the internet or more who’s know... Will you be on the first page of Google search for sure if you submit your blog to all web directory and have your magic words as a link to your blog? Bang!!!! again... Big mistake!... Not all web directories will accept your link even you submit to them and not all of your submission will be indexed by Google and count as a backlink to your blog.

It just won't work at all if you bought a software which is able to submit your blog to 3,000 over web directories. The concept same as you might get an instant backlinks from other blog and this will get your penalized by Google real fast. For my previous experience, i just got less than 20 of backlinks after submitting my blog to 100 directories. Oh ya... Comment On Dofollow Blogs And You Will Rank Higher And Faster? Is That's True?

That might be a big mistake if you are using dofollow blogs to rank for your keywords most of the time. Dofollow blogs will increase the backlinks for your blog (that is true). It will help to increase pagerank but not helping much in getting higher rank for your keywords (and that it true also). I used to depend on dofollow blog to get my previous blog to PR3 but hardly any traffic coming in.
Just imagine the backlinks from these dofollow blogs: I will get “Bloggertut” as my backlink if I use “Bloggertut” to comment on dofollow blogs. This might help me to rank No.1 for Bloggertut but not the keywords I want to rank for.

Now, moral of the story, giving too much comments on dofollow blog will also cause sudden increases in backlinks. Some blogs have “Top commentor” or “Recent comment” on their sidebars. When you happen to be the top commentor or recent comment that shows on the sidebar, all of the pages on that blog will have a link to your blog. Ha!!! bang!!...you might get an instant 40 or 50 backlinks from this blog and this will get your penalized by Google real fast. I’ve gone into that trap before. Remember that!!! How To Use Hotmail With Usual Mail Software

For today post i will talk about how can we download Hotmail messages to the regular mail program on your local computer? For years, Microsoft restricted this kind of offline access to its free Web-mail service. To get it, you had to run one of its email program or pay US$19.95 a year for a Hotmail Plus account.

But in January, the company begin allowing some Hotmail users to check and send messages using any standard email program. The Hotmail site, however has yet to advertise this feature.

Following Microsoft’s instructions may require a little experimentation. In a Mac’s Mail program, you only had to enter two server address (pop3.live.com for incoming mail, smtp.live.com for outgoing) and your Hotmail username and password, and the Apple software figured out the rest.

But in Microsoft’s Outlook Express, you had to click the “Advanced” tab in the account-properties windows to enable SSL security on each server connection and change the outgoing server’s port number to 587.

In Mozilla Thunderbird, you also had to switch the outgoing server to a particular kind of security not SSL, but the “TLS”, if available option.

Ok finale… The Windows Mail program built into Windows Vista was suck and worst of all. Its new-account “wizard” refused to set up Hotmail access, claiming that it was impossible. I had to edit another account’s setting to work around this defect.

In any mail application, make sure it’s set to leave new messages on the server, or the email that land in your program’s inbox will vanish from the Hotmail site.

Before you need to move files between a Mac and a PC. What are the disk formats you should consider? The simplest option is the one used on most removable disks in Windows, FAT32 stand for “File Allocation Table”. Macs and PCs can read and write disks in this format. Almost all internal Windows disks.
