Open Library Environment Project (OLE) Publishes Report

The Open Library Environment Project has posted a draft of their final report to solicit comments from the community. The OLE's service-oriented architecture model references several e-Framework service genres, such as Translate and Syndicate, for use in the library domain. e-Framework Invites Comment on SUMs from TILE Project

Several technical artefacts resulted from JISC's Towards Implementation of Library 2.0 and the e-Framework (TILE) project. This group of Service Usage Model (SUM) descriptions have not yet been fully reviewed by the e-Framework Technical Review Group, but the e-Framework has made them available so that community members can view and comment on them. e-Framework publishes technical model document

Experience gained since the formation of the e-Framework Partnership has resulted in the articulation of an e-Framework Technical Model. The model aims to make the e-Framework’s service-oriented approach to software design more comprehensive and more comprehendible. The technical model document also shows how the different e-Framework documentary design artefacts relate to inform the design of systems. Phil Nicholls, the International e-Framework's technical editor, attended the recent IMS Global Learning Consortium's Learning Impact 2009 conference in Barcelona, Spain, held 11-14 May 2009.
