Today I share an article from the blog www.indiafirsthand.com . The following is mere an excerpt.

The job responsibilities of a god are too much for me to handle. I have to make a lot of conflicting and contradictory statements which is not my nature. I also have to make a lot of predictions which I am not good at (the current value of my stock portfolio is one good example). And the compensation package is not what it used to be. Most politicians and business people make more money.

Some of these individuals like Sai Baba are extremely successful while others like Paramahamsa Nithyananda get tripped up. Only the strong and those with the right public relations and political connections make it all the way (notice I used the word “strong” and not the word “true”). This is religious evolution at its best!

Some Christian groups in North America (particularly the evangelists and the Baptists) consider groups like the Mormons (that have large worldwide following) as heretics.

But why are we not using the same degree of rationalism and skepticism to the gods and religions of bygone years?

Read the complete article at : http://indiafirsthand.com/?p=1654

It took 14 years for this delivery, Yes long 14 years. Indian women finally get 33% representation in the Parliament. There have been many debates and agitations in past to get this bill through, but what happened on Monday was the most shameful act of this delivery. The bill rather being debated, was battered and the Vice President was attacked during the on going session.

Well yesterday they finally took action and suspended the hooligan and got the bill passed. Though he politics remained at core even as the drama was unfolding. Mamata Banerjee abstained from this as she too wishes a quota with this quota. Achieving that she may score against the Left in her home state, where the ruling party has promised 10% reservation for Muslims.

Image : Wikipedia

The same concern was of the Yadavs, they want a provision made within this law as to assign quota for Dalits Muslims, SC, ST or other backward class women. Well this sounds reasonable, but cant they imply this in their own parties ? or do they need a law to get this done. Who stops these politicians from issuing tickets to the minorities?

33 % reservations seems to be a good move, but will this limit the women being just 33% in parliament? Shall they be contending hence forth only against women ? Also given the castist politics in India will all get the true representation. Will this bill benefit the women or will it sabotage women representation? Shall they henceforth be turned ‘Officially’ dolls at hands of’ men’ ?

There are many more questions which are thrown open with passing of the bill, but its more important to see the whole issue holistically. There are still matters within this bill that need to be addressed but was prime important to least get it passed and make it a Law. Once this hurdle is overcome India shall surely overcome the rest that lies in her path.

At times I wonder we worship Shakti, Kali, adore the qualities if Sita and glorify Draupadi, but yet it took 60 years to get First women President, or Lok sabha speaker. Even after 1000’s of years of our existence the women have to agitate and fight for their rights. We take pride in calling India as Maa Bharti, then why does this Maa wait so long and that too for just mere 33 %. Dosen’t she deserve more ? …….

I lay to catch, in my hand,
Soothingly it flows away,
“No one can hold me long”, it says.

Smiling at it, I swept my palm,
Lying on milky wave, steady and calm.
Realizing, I grabbed it too hard
Wanted to carry it, a little far.

Patiently again,holding in two hands,
This time for a while and gladly it stands.
Keeping it aside, I gently smiled
Now, I know what you made me realized.

Certain things are momentary to cherish,
Enjoy the essence, till they perish.
Don’t go too hard and fast,
It just matter, how long they last!

Dear Mr Vir Singhvi

Ref to : http://blogs.hindustantimes.com/medium-term/2010/01/19/judgements-and-journos/

Yes Mr Singhvi I am a blogger and FYI I represent nobody, I do blog from darkness of my room and feel no shame to share my views or thoughts. I may not be elite in media or anywhere else, but that does not stop my bloody brain from ticking.

Lets try to understand your congnisance when you claim the bloggers are elitist and self loathing. Apart from editing stuff at Hindustantimes arn’t you too a blogger ? Correct me if I am wrong. So does this

“Let’s take just one example. It is now common for bloggers and tweeters to complain that the media are only interested in circulation and viewership (or TRPs).”

apply to you too ? or are u above or alien to this behaviour of the elite bloggers ? Also lemme know does the mention of number of followers on Twitter, indicate popularity (TRP) or was the mention for no odd reason. Well I am not on twitter so cant boast of my followers, in short my personal TRP doest not exist, but should that stop me from ‘thinking’ or contemplating ? or should iIfollow your footsteps to become a elitist brag ?. If TRP is the marking as you say in your article

“When bloggers tell you that TV channels are only interested in TRPs, what are they saying?

In effect, they are saying that TV channels are only interested in reaching as many people as possible.

And why is this a bad thing? Surely the people the TV channels will reach will be just like the bloggers, ordinary people with an interest in some aspect of the news.”

Then perhaps the absence of TRP to this blog may render us out from the realm of ordinary people agreed, but does TRP judge the quality of thoughts ? The moment I share porn, nude pics of celebrities this blog shall have TRP like never before, so shall we apply the same to news channels too ?. Do you anywhere intend to say that running for TRP is not bad, then lemme ’stretch’ this logic, shall we start striping news readers ?, nude pics to editorials, I bet the ordinary people will be aroused with interest in ‘all aspects of the news’.

“Or, look at it another way. If a programme gets high TRPs, then this means that lots of ordinary people have liked it. The ordinary people may be right or wrong to have liked it – I pass no value judgements here – but the fact that they liked it is a reflection on them, not on the TV channel. So, why blame the channel? Why not blame the viewers?”

Well you sound perfectly right in blaming the viewers, its eggjactly the same like if person A attacks B, then along wtih A, even B should be blamed for being there or (for sake of TRP) or blaming the already famous but not yet even conceived embryo of Abhi-Ash, as its his fault for not getting conceived. Aplaud to you.

“Thus, we have a bizarre situation where traditional media are criticized for fulfilling their role of appealing to mass audiences on the grounds that the programming does not appeal to a tiny minority on the Internet (and compared to TV audiences or newspaper readerships, the blogging elite is really tiny).”

Tiny ?? hugh !! so ? does that make them ignorable ? Unfortunately I am not part of the traditional media but wonder what is that ? is it enforcing the bland news over n over or bombarding people with flashing news of some high profile guy’s missing Dog ? Or is it hiding the truth a part of traditional media. Can it be a case that the growing Blog prowess makes you insecure as Media as turned into a full professional business and the Ordinary people are seeing that fact. For eg : NDTV went all bonkers due the IPL ignoring Pak players. Why ? perhaps you know it better, NDTV has license of broadcasting in Pakistan and few other Arabian lands, IPL decision was big blow their market. Does this smell news selling ? or is it servicing the ordinary. Enlighten me and pull me out of my dark room.

Media has to be a watchdog and if some one else is becoming your watchdog be brave enough (as ur names goes) to accept this ‘censoring’ at least take it in positive spirit of competition. And yes this is a free country and yes like us you to are free to brag and add x number of elitist or more so erudite qualities to self, but wait ! judge us not , thou art not the final word in media so dont even assume that role. People expressing their views on others thoughts / actions is your profesion too, not all can be good but this dosent mean they should stop trying. Or Should we ?

A not so elitist blogger

Continued from my pervious post, let me enlighten you a little more about the world of parties, saturday nights, and evening sickness! This time solely focusing on bashes where alcohols are flowing like Babylonian rivers, where the throats of various sizes and stomachs of various capacities are gulping down the see of “soma-rasa.” And you standing around the next corner, with part-shut, part-open eyes, are waiting for it to be over. Thrown across are a bunch of recurrent bluffs, of which I will tell you a five:

1. I am not drunk!
This will come right at your face just before the party gets in the full swing, one crate of beer is split wide open and two more to go! Yes pal, I can see! I can see that you are not drunk, especially when you are swirling like Shakira and leaning like tower of Pisa. What probaby beholds you from biting the dust is the so-called center of gravity which has now shifted towards the right toe. But you won’t give that last glass, will ya?

2. Drink it for your friend, please!

Image: freedigitalphotos.net

Yes, even the treacheroursly red eyes of yours won’t hold the lie too far and the emotional blackmailing that comes along. I will not be convinced by you that that life is indeed like a beer, and that I should suffer its “bitter” taste. The occasional pats on the back and you calling me amongst the “closests” will not help. Yes, you will remember it for the lifetime and will “never” ask me again to drink, provided that you will at all remember this night!

3. You must be having fun!
Ha! Oh hell ya! I am happy that I didn’t drink, I didn’t fall for that bate, and didn’t sip the soar liquids that the god only invented because the heavens were getting overpopulated. I am having great fun to dust off the broken glasses and clean the floors afterwards. I am fulfilled with the joy of dropping you at your doorsteps like DHL express delivery, if only I will eventually get paid!

4. I will never drink again!
Argh, there comes the swearing-in, as much in a dramatic manner, that even President Obama will be less embrassed about his miss-spellings. The venue, the toilet seat, where the head is half inside and the sounds are echoing from the thick walls of the bath-room, “I will never drink alcohol!!!” The liquids are now flushed away, but the heads are still swinging like cricket ball on a grass pitch.

5. You are my best friend!
I can’t say, how blessed I feel every time I hear it from you and a drunk bastard on the street! Yes, I am your best friend even when you don’t remember my last name and flirt around my girlfriend. Yes, sometimes I even feel that we are the twins separated at birth, only to meet now as you hug me. Don’t forget what you said my fren, cos I owe you a 100 bucks!

Hanging over continues…!

This week we share an article from the blog ‘Gopinath’s ArTicKles’, owned by Gopinath Mavinkurve. Following is an excerpt from his article.

………………….Almost all of them bank on the single most important factor – that one hopes for better times, better deals, better lifestyles and so on and so forth – and would go to great lengths to have it! How often have we been advised, “Lose whatever you may – don’t lose HOPE!”? So we cling to our hope – so one day we will get all that we need! Sure, Sure.

The government says in the way the Gods always did: “Tathastu”. Tax slabs are raised – so you got to be happy! Excise duties, petrol prices are raised – couldn’t help it, folks, we had to roll back the stimulus, now that the ‘recession’ is over! So what the revised tax slabs giveth, the higher duties taketh away! We have bureacrats and ministers who can outwit our best magicians with their conjuring acts! ………….

…………………………Social sector reforms, educational reforms, law and order related reforms, land reforms, agriculture sector reforms – the list is endless.

The Government of India could begin with one all day session explaining how much of the budget allocations meant for those intended by several schemes actually reach them? They have thoughtfully named these schemes – like NaREGA- which when they dont reach the poor, they call MaREGA, perhaps? …………

……………………

Since everybody seems to be affirmatively posting reviews on this year’s budget, (including Kareena Kapoor in Times of India), why should dynamic22 be left behind? This, I suppose, is the first ever budget review posted here, so allow me a few crude remarks!

I found this year’s budget, in a sense, as a corroborative statement from the honorable finance minister, Pranab Mukharjee, that after all, Indian economy has successfully withered the recession. He has promised that the GDP growth will touch the dream figure of 9%, up from past three year’s average, somewhere around 6%. In his speech, he has also mentioned of slow “withdrawing” from the stimulus plan and robustifying the economy further. Surprisingly, the two sectors which have managed to steal the show are health and education with combined allocation of 50,000 Crores. The government has planned to invest substantially to improve the standards of both, but it is not yet clear the come-abouts of additional revenues to achieve its targets.

The skepticism comes from the new taxation mechanism which is unchanged for lower income group. Moreover, considerable savings are proposed for the groups earning more than 5 Lakhs. This will mean additional saving for 60% of tax-payers, at the cost of government incurring significant revenue deficit. According to C. P. Chandrashekhar, the new tax slabs are slated to earn 4,400 Crore lesser tax receipts this year. But he surmises that the reforms in health and education are probably coming from corporate taxation and indirect revenues. Tax surcharges and MATs alone will earn 40,000 Crore in direct taxes whereas the buoyancy in the market will garner 70,000 Crore indirect revenues.

Pranabda has proposed moderate reforms for two other areas which are vital for growth, infrastructure and energy. He has set aside 46% of total plan allocation of funds, amounting to 1,73,000 Crores, for infrastructure development. Out of which nearly 13% will go into extending the national highway network at the rate of 20 Kms per day. Since coal is still the mainstay of Indian energy market, a national level regulatory authority has been proposed to deal with the bidding processes of mining blocks. But disappointingly modest amount of 650 Crore is allocated for solar energy sector. A national clean energy fund (NCEF) is also in the pipeline.

An all-inclusive development was also spoken of during the budget speech. The finance minister has, to that effect, proposed increased spending in schemes such as rural development, employment guarantee, and cheap housing programs. On the urban development side, excluding the infrastructure, government is willing to invest in projects such as unique identification authority, technology advisory group, and grants for legal and judiciary reforms. To summarize, keeping with the current pulse of the market, Pranab Mukharjee has managed achieve a balance between three differently weighted sentiments, one from India’s 70% population which is still struggling for progress, the second is of the tax-payer’s and the third from the Indian incorporate.

Lost a few months of yours in between … but here’s how your Budgety March will be ..

Aries: Dear Ram this is the month you have been waiting for, raring to go professionally, and perfectly willing to make a complete overhaul if it means greater success ‘down’ the road. For this you may need a new Car or least overhaul your old one. Get a brochure from Maruti Suzuki and pick our bebe.
Tip : Wax your back all your self with honey pack for smoother rides or buy a second hand Nano.

Taurus : Relationships take center stage this month. There is apt to be a whole lot of negotiating, discussing, and compromising going on with a special person in your life. Confused about the special person, look around and ask “Itna Sannta kyon Hai bhai”
Tip : Here a possibility of radical change in your life stands, go to nearest river and wash all your clothes singing “Ram teri ganga mailee” with Ram being said 3 times

Gemini : Geminians here is a strong possibility of falling love or settling in some deeper relationships. You will experience some deeper levels of intimacy and meanings. Start applying for loans, launching new projects–occur on the 10-12th taking you deeper to your chattery grooves.
Tip : Deeper relationships may form once you try selling condom vending machines in Vatican. Give it a shot !!

Cancer : You have added energy at your disposal to start or jump start a health and fitness program or You may be embroiled in a conflict between domestic demands and those of a close partnership. Focus on one important endeavor rather than scattering your energy.
Tip : Take life with pinch of salt (Pssst : add a slice of lemon and shot of tequila .. )

Leo : A project dear to your heart could bear fruit now, Call you Ex to confirm it , an unexpected partnership opportunity could arise. This may give you a super boost of confidence and optimism, but not always is good news on way. Do be careful that you are seeing things clearly, better strengthen you financial position.
Tip. Find a head balder than babies arse, pluck 3 hairs, keep in satin murky blue cloth under ur pillow.

Virgo : This is a strong month for creating balance in your work and home environments, as well as in your interactions with loved ones. A romantic opportunity could arise around the 18th, but be careful it may boomerang. The month may also start steady rise in our income, thanx to your ‘calculative’ nature. Avoid jumping to impulsive conclusions about any dealing with a partner now, business or personal.
Tip : Well its always wise to use whats between ears rather legs. Try it !!

Libra : This is an excellent month for presenting your ideas, making appointments, networking, going on interviews, and establishing membership in a group of like-minded individuals. But get not into any contracts or legalities esp personal ones. Any matter that requires people skills, charm, and verbal prowess is favored by you but yet you neet to play caution. This may hinder your goals but you need to overcome it.
Tip: Learn to laugh at your problems , well the rest world does.

Scorpio: Your flavor for adventure runs high, but career matters capture most of your attention. Romantic feelings on the job are possible, but be aware that you are prone to idealizing others (Rakhi Sawant). An opportunity to heal any upset feelings with a special someone occurs around the 10th; and a connection to an old friend (or old flame!) may occur. Before jumping into it blind, do your best to consider all of your options.
Tip : Remember God is watching you, so least give him some entertainment– join Bollywood Dancing intensive course.

So like said in last post here I am with our first Haphazard recipe. This time the grocery owner did not get Bandga to which Pillya was lil annoyed but Ballu seemed to be Happy to see his Surmai. But that’ll come later on. The first fresh fish what we cooked Barracuda and crabs. Lecker ! even the smell arouses the hunger. The fresh carried along the ocean smell and had flesh that just bounced back on touching. Fressssh !

We bought appx 900gm of fish that day. Got it home and Pillya was all head over heals to cut it. While Ballu guided him for the thickness of the pieces, I started to prepare the marinating stuff. Now here’s the thing, as they both had just described to me the taste the remember from the mothers cooking, I have chosen the ingredients. They may or may not fall in standard procedures of cooking.

Ingredients :

Image: freedigitalphotos

The ingredients are all in appx quantities.

Turmeric half tbsp

Chilli powder 1.5 tbsp

Ginger half inch

Garlic 3-4 cloves

Mustard oil for frying

lemon juice 2tbsp

Salt to taste

Ballu swiftly mixed all the ingredients to a very fine smooth paste. (Do not add much water), Pillya and me applied this paste to the fishes and set them aside. While fish marinated I prepared some Rice and simple Dal (Maharashtrian ), at Pillya’s demand. While I kept working on that these two gulped down beers. In 30 min we decided enough of marination lets fry them.

Procedure:

Heat some mustard oil in a pan and place the marinated fish pieces in the pan. Fry them until light golden braun on each side. Serve it hot !! Well I served it with garam rice, dal and raw-turmeric pickle. Leckerrrrrrr !!

The crabs I’ll post it for next friday.

Psst Psst : For the ones in Germany: Mean time incase you dont get fresh fish try buying frozen Barracuda form any Asian shop. Leave it open for 2-3 hrs to defreeze. Preferably do not keep it in hot water to defreeze.
