It will be mine! Finally, the long awaited extended editions of one of the bestest fanatasy epic trilogies will be coming to a Blu-ray box set near you.  </p>
<p>Tolkien fans rejoice! I thought the original DVD’s were <a href="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/reviews/lord-of-the-rings-the-fellowship-of-the-ring-extended-edition">spectacular</a>, so I’d imagine this edition will blow our collective socks off. Boasting a new remastered film transfer in 6.1 DTS-HD surround, this 15 disc box set from Warner Bros. will retail for about $119.98 SRP, but probably less than that online I’m guessing. Amazon has it for $83.99 preorder. Bring it on Mordor!</p>

<strong><em>The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring</em></strong></p>
<p>In this first part of the Trilogy, the young hobbit Frodo Baggins inherits a ring; but this ring is no mere trinket. It is the One Ring, an instrument of absolute power that could allow Sauron, the dark Lord of Mordor, to rule Middle-earth and enslave its peoples. Frodo, together with a Fellowship that includes his loyal hobbit friends, humans, a wizard, a dwarf and an elf, must take the One Ring across Middle-earth to Mount Doom, where it first was forged, and destroy it forever. </p>
<p>Such a journey means venturing deep into territory manned by Sauron, where he is amassing his army of Orcs. And it is not only external evils that the Fellowship must combat, but also internal dissension and the corrupting influence of the One Ring itself. The course of future history is entwined with the fate of the Fellowship. The film won four Oscars® for Best Visual Effects, Cinematography, Makeup and Original Score.</p>

		</p><p><img class="alignleft" style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 10px; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" alt="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/image_thumb.png" width="287" height="349" border="0" /></p>
<p>Greetings programs! Disney has just announced that both Tron Legacy and the first Tron will be coming to Blu-ray on April 5th. Sweet!  Looks like they are going for broke with this release, with several versions of packaging planned.  I’m really looking forward to this one, yeah I’m total geek.  Since there is so much here is a  breakdown:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" alt="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/image1.png" width="484" height="602" border="0" /></p>
<p><img class="alignleft" style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 10px; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" alt="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/image_thumb1.png" width="284" height="351" border="0" /></p>
<p>Not mentioned here is the ‘second screen’ feature, which is a damn cool idea if you ask me. “Disney Second Screen transforms the movie watching experience by allowing viewers to explore the story behind the film perfectly synched on a second device, like an iPad™ or laptop, without interrupting their enjoyment of the movie. By simply accessing the Disney Second Screen companion application on their Internet-connected device, consumers are able to dive deeper into the film by engaging with elements including 360-degree vehicle turnarounds, interactive progression reels, and more. Disney Second Screen directions and access codes can be found inside the Blu-ray Disc packaging.Audio synching is powered by TVPLUS.” And here is the breakdown for classic Tron:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/image3.png"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" alt="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/image_thumb2.png" width="538" height="486" border="0" /></a></p>

According to the announcement this marks the first time they are releasing all formats on the same date. Why golly gee thanks Mickey for not holding back on us there.  Here are some of the features one can expect on this set:</p>
<p><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/image5.png" border="0" alt="image" width="234" height="318" /><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/image6.png" border="0" alt="image" width="258" height="317" /><a href="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/image7.png"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="image" src="http://www.dvd-dweeb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/image_thumb.png" border="0" alt="image" width="243" height="318" /></a></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Blu-ray</span></p>
<p>Untangled: The Making of a Fairy Tale – Exactly how long is Rapunzel’s hair? How many lanterns were used? Where did Pascal’s name come from? Which Disney animated feature first utilized CG animation? These and more will be answered when Mandy Moore and Zach Levi take viewers on a kooky behind-the-scenes tour to learn how the filmmakers styled this film’s ?Golden Tresses.?</p>
<p>Deleted Scenes – Co-directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno introduce three scenes and illuminate why they were ultimately cut.</p>
<p>The Jaunty Moose</p>
<p>Chemistry Develops</p>
<p>Vigor The Visionary</p>
<p>Extended Songs – The complete versions of two great songs are shared in a unique feature that explains the co-directors decision to scale them down.</p>
<p>When Will My Life Begin</p>
<p>Mother Knows Best</p>
