This is an active lesson that I am in the process of learning… of course learning the hard way… Is there no other way?

I was told a story about two Buddhist Monks & a Lady… This story rang true … so I am dropping the “Lady” because my back is sore and I cannot carry her any more after 5 months.

Recently my personal integrity was called into question due to a misinterpretation of my own words. I value my honesty and integrity greatly, so to have this happen needless to say, 3 days ago I was crushed at that moment. Then the next day, I was pissed! The only thing I could think of was “How dare they!” Now, today, I am wiser, stronger, and can move on down this path.

For those who may not know, or have perhaps wondered, I am currently residing in a household and provide “domestic service”. This couple has been patient, kind, and just down right Awesomesauce! I love them very dearly and I love being a part of their household. This is something that I find VERY fulfilling and I am grateful for the opportunity to be useful, needed, and of course “the finder of lost things” These two people have provided me with a purpose. For this I love them dearly and will not consciously do anything to jeopardize that.

I have many lessons yet to learn, hopefully they will not all be “the hard way”.

So the 5 reasons that can give me back my personal power and integrity are:

*1. I cannot control what this person thinks of or says about me.

*2. I can only control my own words and actions, and hold myself accountable for them with the honesty and integrity that I know I possess.

*3. This person sees something in me that they either dislike about them self or see a quality that they wish they possessed.

*4. I am in service to two very wonderful, communicative, intelligent, strong, patient and loving people. I am very proud to serve them.

*5. The Super-Secret Zombie Squirrels are pissed because I got the best two nuts off the tree, and they will do anything to try and steal my nuts!

Normally I would confront such a person… but I cannot do that and not hurt others around me.

I can only account for what I do now, and in the future. I view this lesson as an opportunity to shine, to improve upon myself, to speak from not just my words, but my actions.

That new re-design?

I grew to hate it. And what I grow to hate, I burn. And what I burn, I discard.

So, you'll likely notice the return to a more traditional "blog-like" design. Simple, readable layout. Everything is here without all the goddamnable clicks and fidgets.

And there isn't nearly as much work on the backend either.

My thoughts?

It would depend on how much potential drama you’re willing to accept, whether your knowledge of this “bad player” is first-hand (gossip is bad!) and what your motive behind the warning might be.

If you have seen examples of behavior you (and a Community “as a whole” share the opinion) deem “bad play”, then you have a leg to stand on. If all you’ve got are rumors and gossip? Don’t spread it.

What is your motivation? Are you looking to score points? Revenge for some wrong? Or is it a genuine concern for a friend? Be careful with this one. Rationalization is a powerful agent – listen to your gut and be honest with yourself.

And are you honestly willing to accept the potential drama this may drop in your lap? It could came back and bite you in the ass. So be prepared to defend your actions and accept the consequences if the need arises.

I look at you and immediately the hooks set. I wonder how, in detail, I am going to break you.

This is my life, the view from my perspective. All things compartmentalized. Once you present yourself as someone who wishes to be Dominated, I begin working you — as a puzzle for me to deconstruct. Take a piece from the whole, place it on the table, examine. Do it again. Repeat and repeat until your very essence is exposed and naked.

Naked is an odd state of being. For some it’s a place of comfort. Others squirm and cloak themselves with hands, any bits laying about or the simple cover of emotion . . . such as shame. Add a focused light to bare skin. Place the naked form on a simple chair under that focused light and even the most comfortable begin to feel the discomfort of exposure.

I know that’s where you will begin to sweat.

I was having a conversation with a fellow (out of State) kinkster who ran into an interesting, and increasingly common, situation.

A D/s house began teaching a few informal classes. Those classes began forming into something a little more structured. That structure locked into Mentor/mentorship roles for participants with the original D/s house acting as the overseer's for each Mentor and their "student".

Not a bad thing really. For my friend this worked out very well as his partner enjoyed learning from someone other than her partner. It allowed her to expand the knowledge she had and increase experience – explore in ways she may not have been able to in the relationship she and her partner had.

Here's where the sirens began to wail.

At some point, this friend was approached by one of the "students" who had been approached by a member of the D/s house with a most interesting proposal.

Evidently the House Mistress and her Master were most pleased by this student's progress and performance. They asked the student to join their house, leave her Master and pledge service to them and their efforts to educate the localBDSM community.

There was a moment of beard stroking and reflection to be had. He could understand the offer to "join their house". But to leave a Master to whom she was collared? And to use the guise of classes to "Collect"?

Nothing new in our community, but not often done so blatantly. It's a shitty way to grow a Stable, but it happens from time to time.

Unwilling to cry wolf, my friend asked his submissive/partner about this. She confirmed it. She knew (from conversations) that a handful ofsubmissives in the class had been approached with a similar proposal. He asked if she had been approached.

Let us just say tears followed that question. It is difficult for anyone to admit a betrayal of trust made by someone who offers you trust and replaces it with deceit as these "Teachers" seemed to have done. He did not fault her for the hesitance to reveal the offer – he saw it for what itwas…a MindFuck.

The question he posed to me was this:

"WTF?!!"

"What do I do about this?"

I have always had a fondness for objects of art made of glass. One of my earliest memories was going to the dime store and collecting small blown glass animals. I still have a few of my childhood treasures. There is something about the smooth, cold surface of the glass, the way it collects light that delights me. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I have truly fallen in love with the pyrex dildo my Dom has given me. It is an artful piece that could easily be on display for it’s beauty. However, when put in a cold glass of water and used in his expert hands it truly becomes a work of art. The lovely thing about pyrex is not only its beauty but it’s practicality as well. I was asked recently what was one of the things I enjoyed most about BDSM. My answer was immediate. It is the honesty that is essential to our play and the intimacy that is a result of such straight forward communication.

It begins with negotiations. Honesty becomes essential as you communicate your wants, desires and needs. After all for the sub, having someone use you and consensually abuse you demands that you communicate as concisely, clearly and as openly as possible. There is not a lot of room for coy prevarication when someone has you hogtied with a single tail in their hand. Hypocrisy doesn’t survive long on the other end of a flogger.

It is not a surprise that with such honest communication and the raw emotion that our play generates arises a level of intimacy that I have not found at any other time in my life. This honest communication that is so vital to our playtime certainly sorts the wheat from the chaff. Perhaps too it is this honesty I have discovered within myself that lends to more intimate relationships not only with my partner but with my friends in the lifestyle. I find my friendships are deeper, more intimate because not only am I more honest, but my kinky friends are too. BDSM teaches us all how to better communicate not only our desires, but our thoughts and ideas. This honest communication lays the foundation for trust where intimacy can thrive.  We may be a bunch of  sick twisted perverts…and proud of it…but the level of intimacy that derives from our twisted play  is truly a thing of beauty.

Our recent Podcast offering (#10, the Potluck episode) covered our interpretation of Community within BDSM. This weekend one of our kinky friends needed some help with replacing a roof, and so was mentioned locally at a play party, and on Fetlife and partially by word of mouth.I should mention that the space being renewed is used as a play space, just as much as being someones home.

I didn’t expect to be there because I thought I was starting a new job so when my training days were postponed I took advantage and offered 6 hours of my free time. (it was that or deep cleaning at my girlfriends, and while I love her…….).

So I drive 40 miles from my girlfriends to my own home (to grab some tools), then backtrack 5 or 6 miles to the project site. Arriving mid-morning there was already a bustle of activity, the roof was being stripped and new roofing materials were on site. Our local TNG group (The Next Generation) were very much in evidence as well as a few ‘mature’ folks like myself (mature being a better term than old because I don’t feel my age and I’m sure none of the others do either). There were conversations about side-projects, construction discussion (I think I know what a bird mouth? is now) and even talk about theater production and lighting. I made new friends (faces I recognized but couldn’t put names to) and hopefully pulled my weight. There weren’t many kinky conversations, though semi-joking discussions about waterboading and comments about being beaten with an Asp rod were made. I laughed.

However, what made it fun was the fact that despite all there with varying levels of skill, we were all working to a common goal: a new roof. Everyone gave what they could in terms of time and skill, asking nothing in return, but aware subconciously it benefits all of us who are able to use the space for our play sessions. By donating our service we show our appreciation for that.

More importantly perhaps, was the sense of commeraderie as we built ties between ourselves that maybe weren’t there before, or are now simply stronger. Thanks for feeding us well, and letting us use parts of your home for our kinky endevours. To you and my other co-workers, thanks for the conversations and your friendship.

I can happily say, that is being part of being our community!

Oh, and today (Sunday 27th) is day 2 of the project so why not drop in and say Hi! (bring work gloves and a smile).

So you’ve been there, done that and got the T-shirt. Bored? Well who’s fault is that exactly?

I have tried a few fun things in my journey into Kink, by no means an extensive sampling yet, which leaves me a veritable cornucopia of experiences as a Top. If I should get a hankering to try a different perspective I can always try a slice of submission (don’t hold your breath!!).

However, of the things I enjoy and feel I have some talent for, occasionally certain aspects have almost seemed mundane  recently where I feel I’m  ’just going through the motions’ (something my playmate does NOT deserve to suffer). I don’t think I was truly aware of  this until the last play party I attended (I’ve had a few burdens to carry recently in all fairness to my creative streak). Anyway, I’m chatting to my partners in crime, when a mummification scene starts right next to me. An accomplished member of the community whose creativity I’ve seen parts of on occasion, he has some clingy wrap, a volunteer and my partial attention (I’m still talking with friends…. but I know he plays with style).

Now, the wrapping proceeds, the fun begins, and my attention becomes glued, my own conversation falters as I’m concious of  the noise level dropping in this section of the play space.  I was torn initially between some edge play also taking place and this mummification. Not for long though as what followed was simple, creative and very intense. I don’t think there was a dry sub in proximity to the scene, and I’m sure the volunteer enjoyed it. Kudos to the Top and his playmates.

Invigorated, mentally refreshed, and re-enthused I came up with a few variations on some themes I already had. A few minutes of voyeurism goes a long way folks, so pay attention to your environment. Sometimes a Gem is just arms length from creative realization. As for being bored or going through the motions, I’m over it already and back on the pathway to tormenting my playmates as normal service is resumes.

Evolution of BDSM

The Media is watching. The movement to educate the masses is growing. Organized Corporations are recruiting. Non-profits pop like flowers, bloom, burst and die on top of one another – a constant phoenix cycle.

All this time we, the cogs, move to fuel the machine that is BDSM.

It’s not unlike the Hippie movement. Something that started with pure exploration, idealism, rebellion and many statements has become a money maker and status symbol. If you want to be someone you need to teach someone. If you want your name known it needs to be National. If you want to National you need to cut a niche from the fabric of our community.

And all to often that fabric we’re cutting was carefully knit by someone else.

I’ve met the people who created “this” but never got the recognition for it. And I know the giants who stand on “that”…when it’s really just something simple that’s been done for decades, centuries…who knows!

The scramble rolls and tumbles on.

I’m not immune. I do this little Site, record voices and people listen – all around the world! For some reason it’s taken off and I’m okay with that. I am humbled by the people reaching out and sounding off – thousands and thousands of you.

But I’ll admit, I do it for the same reason I do most things in my life. I do it because I love it, it’s fun. I don’t get paid for it, we’re sure as hell not making a living from this!

So I ask the question. “What are we now?”

Are we here to get noticed? Or are we here to fill a greater need?

I see many Collectors. I see many running to reach a level where they’ll achieve some notoriety.

In the end, the Collectors burn through their collections and the only notoriety gain is to become “Notorious”.

The rest of us simply do our thing.

Mine is different than yours. Yours is different than mine. If either gains respect of the the Community at large? Then it’s a good thing…

…I’ll sleep well knowing it was done through honest effort.

A post of some thoughts…be.ware.

Watching and being with, around, so many new kinksters last evening was interesting.  Some watched, some played, some jumped hard and a few ran.

You just never quite know.

Then the new happens. Edge starts creeping in. Scenes without safe-words (consensual, RACK scenes), some extreme body punching, blow-darts…good fun.

I’ll say this now. It’s good to see now people. It’s good to see them learn and grow the way we all grew.

But damn, it’s fun to see the edge come back. I missed it. I want it.

Now it’s time to do more planning to make it grow…get a little sharper.

I love watching women with knives. I love playing with women with knives. The thrill, electric, powerful, intense.

Part 1 was an Idea Roundup.

This time we’re going to talk a bit about space.

When making your own dungeon you have to make the best with what you have, since most of us don’t have the luxury of making a custom dungeon from scratch.

Here, my friends, are a few of the basics to consider:

1. Is this going be a “Transparent Dungeon”? Meaning: Once your done with dirty deeds, do you need the space to easily transform into something harmless?
2. What are your main activities going to be? Meaning: If you love suspension, your needs will be different than someone with a love of fireplay or a love of throwing a single-tail.
3. The “Touches what make it special”. Meaning: Sound-proofing? “Dexter” brand kill-room plastic wrap? Fire extinguishers? IP Cameras?

Once you’ve defined the vision, it’s time to make the plan. Write it down, draw it, gather your resources and start.

Here’s the beauty of a home Dungeon…you can always revise! Start simple and build up.  Do it in stages, it doesn’t have to happen all at once.

The brain is wandering with the seasons today. As Fall approaches, I start thinking of darker scenes. Those visions and fantasies in action that push Western psyche past Taboo — into squirm and fear.

I have visions of shifting one or two witnesses into cluster-fuck overdrive.

Planning? Yes. But I’m one who strives for simplicity. I won’t make something into a Circus Sideshow unless that benefits the scene itself. That’s sometimes done to cover a Dom’s lack of skill – cheap paint covering a bad build. Simplicity adds to the impact itself.

Now. Where will the wander lead?

And which scene comes first?

• The BDSM Lifestyle – What do we love most?
• What makes us a Community?
• Fondest Scene?
• Describe your favorite toy…why?

Frottage: No-penetration body grinding done with or without clothes in public or in private.

Saturday Night.

10pm – Gather everything, grab a couple of Sweet Teas and drive.

Something I should have done…tie the rope before hand…that would have saved more time for shooting.

10:25pm – Arrive at location: a pretty much abandoned parking garage. Cars scatter the various levels. There’s a van being loaded at the dock. I’ve been watching this location for some time…no one uses the roof level.

10:35pm – After blowing precious time on rope, we’re ready. DE and I walk to one of the elevator buildings. I call the elevators to our floor, cuff and tie her – the shoot begins.

10:45pm – We leave.

Body Image and Self Doubt

It’s about learning to become comfortable in your own skin. In the grand scheme of things we don’t have much control over very many things–at times this includes our own bodies.

If we’re overweight we can often change dietary habits, exercise and tweak our own lifestyles to solve that issue, but results are slow and we need to be patient.

If we look in a mirror and see something that may or may not be the reflection? Well, that’s a bit different. That’s us perceiving our own body image. Too often what we see is skewed from reality.

Bent.

It takes time and patience to see what’s really there. In the end we all need to learn that our bodies will always change and very few of us have 4+ hours a day to spend in a gym and $1000 a month in whole foods.

Your body is yours. Learn to change what you can, *if* you want to. Love what you have, always.

The rest of us (here) come in all shapes and sizes. Very few of us have room to judge…so we don’t.
