Video Contract With Notts Police

Nottingham Police have recently contracted DRS to produce a ‘Scooter Safety Film’ highlighting basic safety principles for young people that use mopeds as a method of transport.

The film will be released on the internet and DVD later this year and has been produced by our very own Alex Walker.

Taylor Swift Live

Ben Marshall, Senior Producer at DRS had the pleasure or tracking a number of Taylor Swifts UK shows on her recent tour. The system used to record the shows comprised of BSS Active Splits and a mobile Pro-Tools HD3 system.

‘Local Conservative’ Video Production

Our team have been working hard alongside ‘Local Conservatives’ to produce the parties campaign video for the forthcoming local elections. The video can currently be seen at NG15.com and on YouTube ‘Hucknall Conservatives’

The video was filmed by Mark Hitchings with an FX7E camera and mics from Rode and AKG and edited in our Final Cut Studio Suite .

Seth Lakeman Live at the BBC

One of our engineers had the pleasure of mixing Seth Lakeman’s BBC Radio 2 Live Session this week.

The session was carried out at BBC’s Maida Vale Studio’s and mixed for the first time at the venue using a Digidesign ‘Venue’ console.

Seth Lakeman has revived folk music back into the modern pop charts and had a huge hit with ‘The White Hare’ in 2009.

The year couldn’t have finished better than it did as we received two Radio Academy Awards for the project at the prestigious ceremony in London.

Trent FM’s Mark Hitchings said “There could only really have been one winner. Raise Your Voice was a massive project that a number of people said we couldn’t pull off but with our team and DRS’ working together, it was always possible. Recording 10,000 kids, 6 sports teams, the world boxing champion and all the rest was no easy task but we nailed it!! We’re very proud of everyone on the team!!”

Party In The Park 2011

This years ‘Help For Heroes’ Party in the Park will be under exclusive Production Management of DRS LTD. The event will take place at the Rolls Royce Leisure Complex in Hucknall, Notts and is expected to attract a crowd of around 5000 people.

The event founder Phil Rostance said “We’ve worked with DRS before and they make things go so simply. We’re delighted they’ll be running the whole show this year”.

The event will take place on June 25th 2011.

Meltham & Meltham Mills Release ‘In Perfect Time’

Despite the most bizarre set of circumstances we’ve ever encountered, Meltham & Meltham Mills Brass Band have now released their first record, ‘In Perfect Time’. The record was recorded on an Alesis HD24 system with Focusrite and Neve preamps and a Yamaha 02R96 at the helm. MD for the project was the fantastic Stewart Fawcett who DRS’ Tom Cable described as ‘A pleasure to work with’.

The Wanted (Broadcast Infrastructure)

Following our work at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall with ‘The Wanted’ earlier this year, we’re set to be working with the boy band sensation in 2011 providing broadcast infrastructure and lighting for a number of their dates in the UK.

Stevie Wonder Live At Hyde Park

Motown legend Stevie Wonder became the latest addition to the DRS client list earlier in the month when we had the honour of installing a 96-way split rack and two Radar 1HD systems for recording his sell-out concert at Hyde Park in London, UK.
The system, designed and installed by Mr Garrick Thomas performed superbly and the recordings are likely to be used for Stevie’s live album/DVD release early in 2011 if the video shoot was a success to the same degree.
