Wow, a week has gone by since I left Minneapolis for Copper Mountain, Colorado. I drove through the lovely state of Nebraska on my way, stopping in North Platte, NE, for a night.

I woke up to a cloudless blue sky and bright morning sun…Which was a great contrast from the rain I drove trough the day before. I got off at the wrong gas exit and found this herd of cattle. A short drive down a dirt road allowed me to get this close for a few shots.

Ooohh, the Minnesota State Fair. Of course this year was my first time in attendance of “The Great Minnesota Get Together” and, yes I find it humorous that everyone calls it that and means it.

The Minnesota State Fair is one of the nation’s largest state fairs. This year they set an attendance record at 1,790,497 tickets sold.

Slugs Too?

This is my first year growing sunflowers. I had no idea that sunflowers had so many enemies. Rabbits, squirrels, birds, ants, beetles… and now SLUGS. I am glad I can help so many wild animals get a quick meal but will I be able to have some sunflower seeds for myself? “The way things is goin’, I don’t know!”
