There is a hot and action drama just launched this March. The interesting point of this drama was the main character, Song Il-guk. He had not seen on the screen for quite a while and all of a sudden various news media released his totally worked out muscular body recently. I thought he was into a martial art or some kind due to his rather thin and strong muscles than big and plump ones like the body builders. After all he is the real descendent of the great general, Kim juwa-jin who spent his entire life to achieve Korea’s independence during the Japanese colonization period. I wouldn’t mind if he became a real martial art master or any kind of action related hero because his blood is well deserved.

A lot of fans were surprise to see his fascinating body shape and felt that something big was coming. That something was this drama, The man was called a god. This is originally a cartoon created by Park Bong-sung who was a well known cartoonist back in 80’s when I was a kid. I really liked his various works especially The son of god, which was also used for a movie. In the cover of the cartoon book, Choi Gang-tah the main character’s bare body shape were shown. It is so clear that Mr. Song Il-guk has been trying so hard to match that masculine body and the image from the cover and I think it is amazing how close he could get.

The first episode reached 15.8% view’s rate which was as twice much as the previous drama, The Jewelry Bibimbab (Bosuk Bibimbab). It has a lot to say about Mr. Song’s popularity and the viewer’s expectation to see some cool actions they promised. Of course there were other factors like other colorful stars like Kim Min-jong, Han Go-eun, Han Chae-young, and Yu In-young. There were several gorgeous ladies on the cartoon and those three top rated ladies are covering the roles. They all wore bikinis from the first episode. What a deliberate attempt to seduce male audiences from the beginning!!!

As we all know, Miss Han Chae-young has a excellent glamorous body line that is not common in Asian women. She took a reporter role in this drama and had to follow Kang Tae-ho (Kim Yong-gun) and ended up wearing her pink bikini and showed off her body. There also is another beauty, Han Go-eun (Vivian role) wearing her black bikini was at the same place with different purpose.

The three ladies expressed their awkwardness to show their swimsuit features at the press conference. Yu In-young felt that the others are more beautiful and taller than her. She skipped her meals and exercised more because she wanted to look prettier. Han Chae-young said that she was very nervous to show her body through screen and was her first time to feel small in filming. She also said she was the plump while others were skinny and good looking. Is there any way to read their true minds for this sort of comments? It should be interesting to see what they really felt one another.

Another interesting actor was Jin-on from the music group, Focus, had a role in this drama. Yu In-young (Jang-mi role) tried to stay away from him after Gang-tah showed up. He forced her to get his kiss and Gang-tah didn’t like him doing to her. He is actually a singer, not an actor, with some experiences of music video scenes and extra roles from dramas.  He did such a great job for a rookie although it was his first time to act with recognizable scenes and a role.  He may prove that he would be successful in his future acting career through this role.

The last person I would like to mention is Jang Woo-hyuk (H.O.T.) with his beloved song, Rain Man, Original Soundtrack.  This is the very first work after completing his military duty.  He had this song before he went to military and had kept it until the right moment.  When the director of this drama asked him to use his song, Rain Man, in his drama, he was

Jang Dong-gun announced that he is getting married to Go So-young last week and it was a big surprise to his fans as well as the entertainment industry in Korea.  I have seen his works from very beginning until recently since I was born the same year and he was keeping showing his work from the media.  I didn’t like his act when he played very TV drama at Our Paradise (Uri durie chunguk), 1993.  He wasn’t competent enough to be called a good actor yet but had a good looking and a great smile.  I didn’t think he will be this much famous when I watched his act but he was a totally different performer at the movie, Friend, 2001.  I was personally very surprise of his excellent gangster work from the piece and knew he will most likely long run in the film industry.

He has become so successful and well-known actor that he could have bragged about his fortune and lived like the most celebrities do but he seems to choose to have his life simple and humble.  He has made all his money and didn’t make a charity foundation publicly but he didn’t waste it either.  I think that is as hard as donating big chunk of it when you have so much in your hand.

Anyway, basically he is very nice guy with money and fame and great body that almost all the woman dream about.  He could have chosen a 10 years younger hot and sexy girl in the world if he wants.  He didn’t even have to marry and enjoy multiple hot chicks for ever if he wants but he chooses Go So-young, no offense.

For the record, Miss Go also one of the successful and hottest actress in Korea that so many prominent and affluent bachelors would love to be settled with.  She was chosen by Jang.  So many people including me and all of my friends are thinking that she hit a jackpot without what have happened between them.  I think it is because Jang Dong-gun has never have any rumors or problems while she had some.  Without knowing the truth, I can’t say anything further about the rumors but what is important is our Mr. Nice Guy wouldn’t mind that and has chosen her as a future wife.

He announced his wedding not in front of press conference but in his fan meeting, Jang Dong-gun Story 2010.  There has been some critics and complaints from the media that he didn’t tip it to media before hand but I think it is another considerate part of him.  He clearly shows that he cares more about his fans than media.  Of course not many entertainers can’t even think about doing this when media has so much power to manipulate them when they are not their favorite.  He has guts and also love for them I may add.

In his statement of marriage at the meeting, he simply said how much he thought about his life while he was alone in overseas and realized whom he really wanted to be with.  That was the woman who had been just a friend for a long time and he felt different about her and he ended up want to be with her forever.  It described that nothing but a normal person’s feeling towards a female friend and love her at last.  He didn’t really care anything about other factors but the chemistry changes between two normal individuals.  I just can’t love this man enough!!!!

He also didn’t forget to put his humbleness in the statement.  He is having a great time choosing the finest wife of his lifetime but he also doesn’t want to upset any people who undergo hard time from whatever reason socially and economically now.  He promised to have a small wedding without press, just invite their close friends and families.  As I read more and more about him, I fall in love him more and more.

I really hope that he could have a very happy and successful wedding and married life as well as his and his future wife’s careers.

All of a sudden, I realized that I would never have energy to write anything on my precious blog.  It had been my only place to write my soul apart from my work and any type of obligation.  I know that I am not a good writer comparing to countless of bloggers in this web place but I am not in a competition with anyone.  It was a perfect place to make my greatly subjective opinion of what I enjoy. 

I felt that maintaining this blog would generate the strength that I need for my life and others.  I don’t know how I can manage to make my future posts but I would like to give it a shot while I still can. 

I carefully selected Agasireul butakhe to be my first choice after all those dramaless life.  There are so many interesting Korean dramas but the coming back of Yeun Eun-hye caught my eyes this time.  I listened to the original soundtrack and it was absolutely the kind that I like to hear and sing at Karaoke room.  The title of it is Sarang eun uhcheolsu upneyo (There is nothing you can do about love) and sung by Yoon Sang-hyun.  I would like to type the lyric down below.

Another popular drama was closed after having enjoyed so many loves and hates from the viewers.  I guess there were more people who loved it than those who hated it although there were so many yelling and fighting scenes.

The living ones in black and the dead ones in white.  Kyo-bin and Eri seemed to become some sorts of gods in the air.  They looks much happy with white clothes and floating in the air.  I hope this won’t give any wrong idea about suicide.

You might already know how it ended but I am going to tell you anyway.  Kyo-bin and Eri both committed suicide.  Yeah, they were evils and they deserved to die million times throughout the drama except the later parts of the episodes.  They realized their faults and tried to be nicer but it was too late for them.

The viewers had feeling for them and saved their lives and wanted to see something to make their miserable lives might be worthwhile because people all make mistakes after all.  However the producer already put their lives in a death row and waited the execution date while enjoying the viewers’ sympathy towards the two problematic human beings.

Some viewers like me wanted to see Eri’s cancer got cured and live with Kyobin happily without making any more troubles, or let Eri die in a hospital and apologize to everyone who she had broke his or her heart when she was healthy and ambitious.

Unfortunately the ending wasn’t the way I wanted but it showed that people could be changed into better and the justice was alive.  The producers and staffs of this drama were furious that the ending story was leaked before.  They had kept it a secret to surprise the viewers but it back bit them.  This leak also ruined the fun to watch the end scene for the viewers.  I hope this kind of stupidity would not happen again.

The all time average viewer rate was almost 40% which is rare and unique.  I have heard that people in Mongolia has been enjoying this drama in there.  It would be interesting to see their Mongolian dubbed version of Temptation of Wife.  I am sure that this popular drama will get lots of loves from other countries also.

Kyo-bin looked too old to have a young and pretty bride, Eun-jae.  Her wedding dress made her look so pure and innocent.  She looked like an angel.

It looked so funny that Kyo-bin was wearing the same tux in his second wedding.  I guess the photo was taken the same day with his different wives.  Eri’s dress looked very fashionable and gorgeous.  The dress concept had to be dandy because she studied overseas and works as a makeup artist in here.  It also showed her bold and daring characteristics to take his friend’s husband.

So-hee’s wedding dress looked too sexy.  It is not realistic in still Confucius Korean culture.  Who would want to dress showing most of her boobs in front of all the relatives and families.  I think it was shown to have some big fuss about her dress and also let viewers’ know how big her chest size is.  It would attract more viewers and it worked. 

Anyway, she is another evil girl here and desperately wants to get Gun-woo’s love.  She would do anything to show her everything she has got to her love.  It would make sense to wear sexy, exaggerated, and the latest designed dress like hers.

Ha-neul wore wedding dress, too.  Many viewers love to see her wedding and it looked so cute.  I guess she looked better with Korean traditional wedding dress.

Yeah, it was the time to wrap up your favorite story.  I know how hard it must be to see the last episode of your favorite show.  It was the only fun that you had enjoyed for last few months but you have to find some other things to do.  You just hoped to see the wonderful ending for Jun-pyo and Jandi.  If that fits in your expectation, you can at least hold that image in your heart and feel happy about it.  However, if it is not, you just can’t have a good night sleep for a couple of days. 

Does it have a good ending?  I would say it was a moderate finish.  The producer couldn’t take any risk to ruin the fans’ fantasy.  I would do the same as he had done since fans react the most sensitive for the ending and he didn’t want to be nailed by any unexpected moves .  It shouldn’t be this way for the work but there is not much choice in front of hundreds of thousands of fans.  To prevent this problem, we should film all the episodes and then start playing on air like some other country’s mini series shows.

Jun-pyo lost his memory of Jandi after the accident and Yumi took his heart.  They were almost made through it but Jandi brought his memory back after she risked her life to throw herself into the pool at the party. 

Jun-pyo asked her to go overseas with him for marriage and study together but she refused for her own goal.  Kim Beom also flew out of Korea leaving Ga-eul behind.  They all promised them to come back in four years.  Guess what would happen later?  They all came back to their loves.  They became all so successful and happy and they came back where they belonged. 

They had to come back to their ladies because it is a fantasy story.  All of the female fans really wanted to see that the perfect prince Handsomes must think about their ladies for those four years and come straight back to them and propose for marriage.  It sounded no fun and too simple but there was no other episode to shoot and it had to be happy ending to make sure no female fans get angry.  It was the classic style of the ending and there were not much complain and not much praise either, at the same time. 

They were back to the Nam Mountain Tower again for dating.  It was where their first dating and spending a night stuck inside the cable car happened.  Jun-pyo asked her to go to America together but she said no. 

He came back to her and bent his knee for proposing.  The water and the sun looked so great for the background.  Who wouldn’t want to say no with that sort of awesome sight.  It is all about the location and timing.  But remember ladies!!!  The beautiful moment might be the once in a life time but you need to live with the guy who propose you for a very long time!!!  Don’t be too emotional.  Be smart.  I am practicing here to say these words to my daughters when they grow up.

All of a sudden, they were all together.  They all have big grins on their faces.  Was it because they all got together again or just so relieved to take the last scene?  I would do for the latter if I were there.

Quite moderate ratings given their status in Asian market. But even from my viewpoint as a Korean, the post is not totally wrong.

For example, one of the problems with these stars – raised by the post repeatedly – is their less than satisfactory level of English and I agree with that. If you are not planning to settle in supporting roles in Kung-fu action movies, you have to be absolutely natural – not native -  in speaking English. It just seems to me none of these stars reached that point of proficiency.

Just take a look at the video clip of Bae seul-ki where she speaks opening lines. Although she speaks decent English from non-Amerian standard, she just sounds awkward. I am not saying that she should sound like a native American. With or without native accent, your English should convey your emotion. She doesn’t do that here.

Another argument given by the post is that Koreans cannot succeed just by copying already-in-the-market American style. That’s why Seven got the worst point. He sounds just outdated to American, the post says.  All the three singers in the post are actually doing that. The problem is Korean guys singing hip-hop just like Black-Amercan stars would be nothing more than a subject of passing curiosity. The same applies to a Korean girl singing a lyric like I’ll eat you up. Does that aggressively sexual line even match her cute look?  The bottom line is they should offer something unique than copycat styles.
