Dow and BASF win IChemE Award for jointly developed HPPO Technology

The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and BASF announced today that they have received the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ Innovation and Excellence Award in Core Engineering for their jointly developed Hydrogen Peroxide to Propylene Oxide (HPPO) production technology. The annual award – presented on November 3 in York, United Kingdom – recognizes the project or process that best demonstrates a chemical engineering solution to improve resource efficiency, lifetime value and/or process optimization.

Edmonds Named Dow Vice President and Controller

The Dow Chemical Company announced today that Ron Edmonds, Vice President and Assistant Controller, has been named Vice President and Controller for the Company, replacing William H. Weideman, who has assumed the role of interim Chief Financial Officer. Edmonds will report to Weideman in his new role.

In an effort to further strengthen its geographic presence and connection with key markets and customers, The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced today that Geoffery E. Merszei, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will move to a new role as President of Dow Europe, Middle East and Africa, while also serving as Chairman of Dow Europe, and Executive Vice President of The Dow Chemical Company, reporting to Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Merszei has served as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer for the past five years. He will relocate to the Company's European Headquarters in Horgen, Switzerland.

Dow India and BMVSS Flag Off the ‘Jaipur Foot on Wheels’ Initiative in Maharashtra

Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd. (Dow India) in association with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) today flagged-off the Maharashtra phase of its multi-state ‘Jaipur Foot on Wheels’ initiative - a mobile vehicle fully-fitted to run Jaipur Foot camps in rural areas across India for the distribution of free limbs, calipers and crutches. Dow India’s 2009 financial donation of Rs 1 Crore, funded the vehicle and will help provide prosthetics limbs and calipers to more than 5000 physically challenged people in India this year.
