The Summer of '09 in just four minutes? From the perspective of a small big band? That's the basic concept here. About 30 tapes of material from 2009 and beyond compressed to one short film. We're proud to say the music video was shot entirely by a bunch of our close friends, who can now add "Cinematographer" to their CVs: Heidi Strengell, Anna Olli, Lauri Olli, Heli Suoninen, Severi Lajunen, Mikko Haapala, Ville Pesonen & Sami Peura. Edited by Ilari Laine (Final Cut Productions Ltd). Luv you all. The song features one of the hottest guitarists ever to bother any strings with his fingers, Petteri Sariola, and the fantastic Johanna Juhola just blazin' on the accordion... need we say more? As the Summer Of Love 2009 slowly draws to a close we'd like to send our sincere thankyous to all who came to the gigs. We'll be preparing ourselves for more touring during the autumn, and a revamped website with videos, photo blogs and slideshows etc is coming soon as well. Anyway, this summer was probably the most fun we've ever had on the road so here's a little 'THANK YOU' from Ilosaarirock's main stage!

Don Johnson Big Band will perform at the Helsinki Railway Station Square on Saturday 5 September 2009 at 6.15 PM to celebrate the "Human Flood" event organized by Friends of the Earth Finland. The show is free of charge and open to everyone! The purpose of the "flood" is to call for a more meaningful climate policy and to demand for an effective climate law to combat climate change. Join us and let your voice be heard!

A New Mobile Blog Out Now!

A New Johnson Mobile Blog has just been opened on Facebook, MySpace and rrright here! We're gonna send all kinds of strange clips from the road, gigs, backstages and who knows where... immediately after shooting them with our mobile phones so it's gonna be 100% fresh every time! During the Spring Felix and our sound engineer Teemu already took some footage and some of those clips are already in the player. More stuff from early June still to come... stay tuned for some hardcore titan action from Ruisrock!
