&lt;p&gt;We looked at the basics of:&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
&lt;li&gt;a cover letter for a job application, working from a template - &#xD;
&lt;li&gt;a CV, working from a template  &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;In both instances you will have to consider modifying these templates based on your personal circumstances:&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
&lt;li&gt;your level of training and experience &#xD;
&lt;li&gt;your interest in the particular job &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;We worked through the details of these documents - what you should put in and what you should elave out.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;I also distributed the &lt;a href="http://jecd.typepad.com/files/asst_grid_cv_letter-2010_t1.htm" target="_blank"&gt;assessment grid&lt;/a&gt; that I will be using for this assessment - producing this letter and CV.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;The Session # 2 today was given over to tutorial support to enable practice for your first draft of this assessment.  If you would like to send a 1st draft this week, then by all means do so.  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial Black"&gt;HOWEVER I will be in Adelaide until 11:30am Thursday (March 11), and can only be reached by fax during this time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

&lt;li&gt;&lt;a href="http://mycareer.com.au/" target="_blank"&gt;MyCareer&lt;/a&gt; - operates similarly to Seek, but has the advantage of letting you nominate a preferred travelling distance from a nominated suburb (such as 20km from Campbelltown).&lt;/li&gt;&#xD;

&lt;p&gt;At this stage it is not necessary to launch an account with either service (whic in any case is free andenables useful additional features)&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

&lt;p&gt;BUT PLEASE - when looking at the advertisements&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

(More logical, right?). This is reflected in the revised Assessment sheet distributed in class. Please note that the DUE DATES STAY THE SAME or, indeed, go back (NOT forward) a bit. I also announced that the Topic Timetable is altered slightly to accommodate this shift. We then looked at how people present themselves in the workplace and elsewhere.
