Hey all,

The time has come for a little vacation. I will be spending the next several months abroad in Granada, Spain. That unfortunately means no Straus parties or monthly mixes since I won't have my gear with me, but of course the world does go on.

I know, long summer, but there's been plenty of freshness brewing to keep you busy all fall.

Starting this weekend, gone are the nights of idling on futons waiting for fun to appear. No more will uncomfortable dining hall dances bring suffering.

DJ Straus and the Queens Head Pub are partnering to bring you the wildest, craziest Saturday dancing experience you have yet to witness.

The "Club at the Pub" is kicking off with a grand opening this Friday, Sept 11, 10pm-2am. Epic enjoyment and dancing will of course follow.

Hope to see you guys out there! Don't be afraid to say hi at the booth.

Am currently in Paris. Yes, the Eiffel Tower is pretty cool, but I definitely could not write a post from here without paying homage to those two other French pieces of metal we all adore.

While you and your mother may have heard this song 800 times already, here's a version from a while back that probably missed your radar. The gritty electric guitar gives it a tough yet fun new feel. Enjoy! Au Revoir!

It wasn't clear to some that booking a DJ Straus performance doesn't involve micromanaging the music playlist.

The MenSpeakUp Campaign kicks off today! I've been personally involved in the project and our mission is "To enlist men to speak up and take action against all forms of gender violence and inequality."

Its a truly great cause, and the founders have been hard at work for months. The Site is wonderful and will only improve as more people get involved. We should never underestimate our power to change bad norms. Music and Parties included.

The MenSpeakUp launch is the perfect time for Justice and Lenny Kravitz to remind us to "Let Love Rule" with this new remix of a 1989 original.

Simian Mobile Disco will be playing at the Paradise Rock Club Wednesdy, April 22, at 8pm. It will be rocknasty. Tickets Here for only $17.50

While their electronic style may not appeal to everyone, they are definitely a duo worth at least listening to.

For those unfamiliar, the Paradise is the ultimate in small concert spaces. It was also the venue for Deadmau5, when he visited two weeks ago.

The Harvard Voice is releasing an exclusive look into the world of Straus this Monday. Watch for the fanfare at the Science Center, and listen out for the Straus mixes that will be rocking the plaza.

There are many new features in the works for the site(including an imminent April Mix) all meant to provide you with more quality content, and here's the latest for you:

Enlightened readers such as yourselves deserve to be listening to the freshest, best music. And the mission of Straus is to encourage this enlightenment. That's why I'll be regularly providing you with a taste of great tracks that are fresh on the music scene. Perhaps you'll like them, probably you'll love them.
