Cinnamon Desktop Panel Font Size

However, there are still some shortcomings of the Cinnamon Desktop and some things are still not doable very easily. For instance, we do not have an option to change the bottom panel font-sizes easily. The default font size for the bottom panel text in Cinnamon desktop is quite large. What we will do is use a small trick to change a couple of values in the Cinnamon Desktop theme stylesheet.

Step 1: Open the Cinnamon Desktop theme stylesheet in your favorite text editor. The file is located at:

/usr/share/cinnamon/theme/cinnamon.css

Step 2: Now scroll down to around line number 217 where you will find the css definitions for #panel. In side this block all you need to do is change the fint size as per your convenience. I used a font-size of 12px and you can see the result above.

Install Sublime Text on Fedora Using a Shell Script

Sublime Text 2 can be easily installed in Fedora Linux and Red Hat Linux distributions - both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions. Although they are not available in the Fedora Linux or Red Hat software repositories but we can install them using two small shell scripts, one for 32-bit and another for 64-bit. This one will install it properly in the Gnome 3.

Step 1: Download the Sublime 2 Installer Shell Script

32 Bit Version

wget https://gist.github.com/dkd903/5449361/raw/e17a6f97d7e99decd637edd372ca65b55f1b4da8/install-sublime-text.sh

64 Bit Version

wget https://gist.github.com/henriquemoody/3288681/raw/46f698baa041b29e40d2448f8f64e7b5cb5ad4c9/sublime-text-2.sh -O install-sublime-text.sh

Step 2: Make the script executable

In this article we will tell you how to install the Chromium browser on your Fedora Linux system.

Step 1: Install the Stable Chromium repository for Fedora Linux. You can do so using the following command in a terminal:

This will basically download the Google Chrome repository for Fedora Linux and copy it inside your /etc/yum.repos.d directory

Step 2: Now you can simply install Chromium Browser by issuing this command:

sudo yum -y install chromium

This is approximately a 43MB download. After the download and install is over, all you need to do is launch Chromium from the Fedora main menu. Alternatively you can launch Chromium browser from the command line using the following command:

Install UNetBootin on Ubuntu - UNetBootin is available in the default software repositories of Ubuntu, so all you need to do is just install it using this command:

apt-get install unetbootin

Next You can either start unetbootin from the command line or from Unity app search. I started unetbootin using the command-line which is simple. Just open up a terminal and issue this command:

unetbootin

Once, the app opens, all you need to do is specify the path of your downloaded ISO, select the USB drive which you want to make as a bootable USB and you are done.

The first thing you need to is get the Facebook PHP SDK and put it in your application's root folder. Get it from here: https://github.com/facebook/facebook-php-sdk. Extract the following files from the src folder in the SDK and put it in the application root:

Now sign-up for a Facebook Developers account and create a new Facebook App. You can do this from here - https://developers.facebook.com/apps. After you create the App, you will come across two values required for the App - the App ID and the App Secret. Make a note of these as you will need them later in this tutorial.

Now go down the same page and click on Page Tab in order to enter more information about your Page Tab application. You need to enter both the secure and non-secure location of the apps. After you are done you can click on Save changes. At this point we are all sent and we can start writing the code.

As you may know that a crawl job for Nutch can be started using the following command:

bin/nutch crawl urls -solr http://localhost:8983/solr/ -depth 3 -topN 5

Notice the two parameters that are passed in the command, these are:

• depth
• topN

In this article we will talk more about these parameters and see what are the optimum values of these parameters using which you can crawl your website or any other website.

Depth

The depth parameter essentially tells us how many times should nutch crawl the web page in a single run. This means when you, say for instance, start a nutch crawl job with a value of depth as 3, then the crawl job will repeat 3 times in order to crawl more URLs and fetch maximum number of documents.

topN

The topN parameter decides how many pages nutch should crawl per depth. This means, if you estimate a website to have 3000 pages then you can specify a depth value of 3 and a topN value of 1000 for a successful crawl of 3000 documents.

However, this is just theoretical and while putting above in practice you might notice that not even 50% of your set target number of URLs have been crawled.  These essentially happen when the URLs timeout or they cant serve content to the spider currently. Choosing optimum values for the above two parameters, depth and topN can be finalised only by trial and error as both of these depend on the size of the website being crawled.

According to his blog post, FeedDemon depends on Google Reader for Feed synchronization. Till now the only, frustrating solution was to restart your laptop in-order to get the integrated webcam working. However I cam across a cool way to fix this issue and reload the webcam on your Ubuntu Linux system without re-starting your Laptop!

All You need to get your Laptop webcam on Ubuntu up and running without restarting the Laptop is to simply issue the following two commands in the same order;

sudo rmmod uvcvideo
sudo modprobe uvcvideo

However, this is a temporary fix and you will have to re-issue the two commands above, in that order, every time your Laptop webcam stops responding. Since this fix works perfectly for Ubuntu, it will work well with other Debian based operating systems such as Linux Mint and others. American Journey 2.0 is a Ford app that is making waves. It’s designed to give all the information you want to know about directions, local businesses, and weather. Where Ford is trying to push the envelope is to actually make the car attach to a social network platform, such as Twitter or Facebook.

The public has been very receptive to date and are more than a bit intrigued that their new car might have more personality than what was first believed.

‘Auto’matic Blog

This is an incredible app by Ford that actually allows your vehicle to automatically “blog” about how it’s doing to a social platform. This is where you want to make sure you keep up on the maintenance and keep the trash picked up. You wouldn’t want your car to let your friends know you’re a slob!

Toyota Friends

The Toyota Friends app is one that is designed to bring owners of Toyota vehicles together in a social bonding. They can trade information about vehicles, ask each other advice on maintenance and improvements to make on their cars and trucks. It brings people together with the common interest of loving their Toyota.

GigaOM Pro

GigaOM Pro is GM’s answer to the app frenzy. The developers have a lot of financial backing to create more features for the coming year, such as the ability to send diagnostic information to the dealership shops and mechanics if the vehicle is experiencing any problems. That would be a new twist on things.

The time that feature could save to the shops and consumer is astounding. Of course, all of the majors seem to be working diligently to try and get that feature successfully up and running. BMW iVentures

BMW developed this app to simply help owners find available modes of public transportation, GPS location information, road construction and all manners of things that effect how and when you can drive safely.

They are quickly joining in the clamor to bring social networking into the fold; whether it’s simply fellow owners socializing on the myriads of networks, or a helpful blog- type app that gives pertinent information on repairs, maintenance and saving money.

These are only a few of the apps that are in the beginning stages of development. This is a whole new world that auto makers are venturing into and you’ll see some big strides made over the course of 2013. The iPhone came out in 2007, and was an absolute blockbuster. It planted the seed for a new generation of button-less mobile phones, which revolutionized the way we communicate with people. By the time Android arrived, users were warming up the idea of having a mini computer in their pockets. Nowadays, smartphones have become an indispensable part of people’s lives, which in return has changed how we use social networking services.

Social Network on Android & iOS

Both iOS and Android have provided easy and mobile access to social networking, because of which services like Facebook and Twitter have rethought their strategies. The mobile version of such social networking sites is not simply a mobile webpage, but rather a complete mobile experience. iOS and Android both have integrated social networking deep into their software, which greatly enhances the user experience.

Users can now check-in to places and share their location with their friends. They can instantly click and share a photo or a video with their phones. Why such an intro? Well, when you see the 2 minutes intro for the new HAWKEN all you are going to wish is to play that game, immediately. Now, the game may be free of charge or it may come as a $50 Christmas gift, but you won’t care cause all you want is to play that game, that’s how this game looks like-Awesome.

So, as the trailer starts you will see the world in the far future, over-industrialized and not so cute as it is now (yes, its cute now compared to what you have in the game). Once you finish the trailer, please have in mind that Adhesive Gaming published a beta game couple of weeks ago so you can go and start playing the game in the couple of minutes.

It takes a good internet connection, Email, Password and your profile name as it will be in the game. Once you downloaded the game you can enter the mechanical world of Hawken.

It will take you some time to figure out what you have to do, but once you’re used to all the controls and surroundings, you will have hundreds of hours of pure fun. Oh yes, it’s 2 GB download once you decide to enter the game so it may take some time before you actually start playing, but it’s worth it.

The game is something like BF 2142 meeting Star Wars meeting CoD but with a huge twist. This twist is you sitting in a robot and chasing your enemies. You can customize your robots and once you do that, you can join your friends in an online shooter.

The mechs have extra trust in their engines which can make them jump like crickets. This brings even more speed to the game and the planet, even being dead, will bring the liveliest battle out there.

You will chase your enemies through the Illal (the World where everything is happening) and the enemies will chase you. The stunning graphics are powered by Unreal Engine 3 which is a symbol of HQ graphics.

As you progress through the game, you will unlock several bonuses for your mech which will bring the unique experience. No mech is the same and this is what will make you feel unique while you’re fighting your way through the game.

The game itself is a bit of arcade style, if not totally arcade. It is constant shooting and chasing, you shoot your way through the field (city) and there is nothing more to it, which is great.

This is what the arcade games are all about. To have loads of fun and not to waste any second of your precious time.

On the other side, you may not feel like you’re inside the robot since it feels like everything is going smooth and without too much trouble. What I am trying to say is that robots should be harder to control, well that’s my opinion.
