Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

Barceloneta’s Can Majó strictly makes the difference between facing the sea and deliciously tasting it. His owner Enrique (charming eyes and envyingly naturally tanned) tells me a sailor story at the entrance next to the restaurant’s excellent wine warehouse. After taking over an old fish market and garage next door, this tasty hippocampus (seahorse) moved from being a pequeño (small) five-table restaurant during the late 60’s, into the seafood location in town. Not to forget their butch rice dishes, and I am not talking “paellas”. Once seated, the peaceful aquarium sensation becomes inevitable, dishes keep coming and I feel like going down to the sea. It must be its harmonious family atmosphere floating on the space, and carefully delivered by the kind staff. Suitable privacy for a business lunch, a family reunion, or simply enjoying its Mediterranean terrace like one should during the summer months.

Dear Diane, dear shaded viewers,

Alberto Incanuti and WS Fashion, (the brand's parent company), showed their aesthetic  vision and their stilistic narrative for the SS2012 compaign with a concept not based on the fashion world. Some young dancers were asked to use their body movement to portray the atmosphere of the collection. They have brought poetry intensity , beauty  in a  spontaneus , experimental and intimate perfomance that took place on the set. The volumes and extra long lines of extra large size sweaters in white hues  that  emphasized the dancer's movements, giving a 3d qualitity and depth to materials and the structure that highlight the texture.

The reportage photographer and  specialist Simone Casetta, supported by the stylist Stephane Gaudrie created the image. The images  carried us away in an ethereal mood that had no sense of time.  THe video  produced by Davide Calafà was harmonious to the  Aimo Richly spirit .

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I was too late for the fashion show of Brain and Beast, so I met Diane, David, Jason and Glenn outside of the show venue of Barcelona fashion week, Placa Del Rei.

After a little tea with Daniel, Felipe and his husband, we decided to explore the gothic area.

We were a little too late for the oldest candle store... In Spain, the shops are closed for siesta... Hope we can make it there before we leave.

This window on Carre Libreteria attracted me when I lost my way to Placa Del Rei.

We did some souvenir shopping. From the objects inside the store, you feel full of love - I think they really care what they have in the store. I love the way they packed our souvenirs.

We are in Spain - have to try some Spanish hams - of course these are for David and me. The food at Allium was quite good - by the time we left, the restaurant was filled with locals.

Around this time of the day, there are group of young boys dancing outside of CaixaForum. The glass becomes mirror for them to see themselves.

Just before the Glenn's lecture, there was a little time to visit Mies van der Rohe Pavillion across the street.

This pavillion was originally built as the German Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition It was once diassembled in 1930, but it was reconstracted in 1986 on its original site.

Bas Kosters’s A/W12 “1,2,Tree” presentation yesterday at Amsterdam Fashion Week opened with ‘super designer’ Bas on the phone. The show consisted of high-speed models on the runway dancing erratically but keeping the same intervals as the music and the phones operator requests to wait. He seduced his local Dutch audience when he perfectly shared the most simple, even normal exercise of communicating with phone operator recorders, pretending his overwhelmed busy lifestyle doesn’t take away fun. Natura allegedly evoked the oversized fringes and digital prints, however the connection was subtle. When simultaneously combined with a video projection (in collaboration with Alex Kaseta), the visuals added artistic atmosphere to the printed lycra combined transparent fabrics. In a more delicate way Kosters’s show sponsor (Vodafone) appeared through printed portable phone t-shirts, they where more commercial and not as strong as his spectacular starting pieces.

With his first "Advanced Style" book officially coming out on April 17 (but we can pre-order it here), Mr. Ari Seth Cohen's unique, radiant and inspiring portraits are just about to get printed. In the meantime, he gently shared with us a few precious gems of wisdom from his irresistible ladies, along with his hopes and thoughts about the future, freedom, aging and personal style.

S.B.: Since 2008, your blog has inspired and delighted the creatures of the web, definitely becoming a must read for fashionistas and street-style photographers all over the world. Your book though will now finally bring your work back to its very true protagonists, making it easier to reach for those elder elegant souls not so familiar with the blogosphere. Perhaps they will feel proud, a little braver in their look, you will revive a bit of that healthy feminine competition that never really disappeared. What do you hope for? Would you dedicate your book to anyone?

A.S.C.: I hope that it changes people's ideas of aging and allows them to feel better about themselves. These ladies provide inspiration for living life to the fullest. I dedicate this book to both my wonderful grandmothers who had great style, but more importantly great spirit.

S.B.: A splendid Gitte Lee will be the cover star, and I know it will feature an interview to your friend Ilona Royce Smithkin by no less than Dita Von Teese, a gorgeous diva we hope we'll see on your blog 40 years from now. What do these two talented artists have in common, and whose idea was it? What else should we look forward to?

A.S.C.: First of all Dita and Ilona are performers who use dress as an integral part of their art. Ilona is an artist, but as a cabaret performer, she incorporates wonderful and colorful costumes into her work and everyday life. Dita was inspired by Ilona's individuality and spirit and I asked if she would like to interview her for the book. They are both known and appreciated for their originality and personal style. Dita and Ilona are both nonconformists who have shared passion for unconventional beauty and glamour.

S.B.: Whether the great age of your muses could certainly surprise, what's really charming about the women you photograph is their irresistible, surreal strength, their lighthearted indifference to any trend or critique. You said that confidence is the best accessory, still, it's not for sale. How could we attain such a blessed state of mind?

A.S.C.: The ladies I interview always tell me that they have come into their own over time. I think we can definitely learn from them, but most important is to accept ourselves and celebrate life everyday. 91 year old Ilona Royce Smithkin says that the last ten years have been the happiest of her life. She feels a new sense of freedom, has let go of her insecurities, and can be more giving of herself.

S.B.: Very young people could sometimes approach life in a somehow hasty, impatient way, hungrily, and demandingly. Clothes turn into statements on their sensitive flesh, and the quest for one's own identity is carried out through several daring, unlucky fashion ideas. Do you believe your teenage audience may learn from the wise, glamorous women in your blog and book, or do you think one's own personal appeal could only be achieved through experience and some rather embarrassing missteps?

A.S.C.: We can definitely learn from the advanced style ladies. They always say that style is an ever evolving process. The more we know ourselves, the better we feel. The better we feel the better we look.

S.B.: Your blog has nurtured our naive minds with priceless fashion tips, bright creative suggestions and a kind of resourceful wit young generations will always lack. I've just seen a fantastic video of Ilona turning a broken umbrella into matching shawl and bracelet and one of Jean making a turban out of a pair of leggings. Absorbing such a rare, unique and graceful wisdom, did you notice your own personal style changing throughout the last three years? What will you be wearing in your eighties?

A.S.C.: I have always been very free with my style. If anything I have toned it down to shine the spotlight on the people that I photograph. In my Eighties, I hope to be a mix of Quentin Crisp and Cary Grant.

If Paris defined menswear under a provocative tangent, outside the conservative and notorious male tendencies, SACAI Men A/W12’s assignment is to treat classics under playful approximations. Japanese designer Chitose Abe surprises us once again with her comfort looks by intercalating classic materials, such as an uber-refined silk pin-dot-tie fabric ‘alla charvet’ transformed into a sport ribbed cuff pant. Popping up sometimes, fascinating knits give the attention to detail and elegance that modern men demand. These details are also used for a mock vest insert in an Aran cable knitted blazer, delivering the finishing we all want to attain. When handling brown tones, Abe masteries it. It doesn’t reach melancholy, or an alternative sensation. It has the feeling of a skater or a banker wearing it on his casual Friday, it will always hit the streets perfectly. The highlight, a Chesterfield levita overcoat that guarantees full comfort and fit, by combining woven (front) and knitted (back).

Woodkid aka Yoann Lemoine (music video director, film director and musician) performed his first concert at ASVOFF 3 at the BETC and since then, he's enjoyed stellar sucess with his Iron EP and his music video for Iron has almost 10million hits on youtube. 

Last night, thanks to Dell & Intel Special Engagements, Woodkid performed his first Paris concert at the most famous landmark of Paris. On top of the "sexy" Eiffel Tower.  

The concert was introduced by his friend Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and guests were treated to songs from Iron EP and also some just recorded songs which will feature on Woodkid soon to be released, full length album titled "Golden ages". Yoann's voice perfectly complemented the graceful and haunting view of Paris from the Effiel tower.
