Carbon Fiber Texture

In this tutorial I will explain to carbon fiber texture. You can use it for layout, or interface as background, effect for any object, etc.
It really a pretty sought after details and easy to produce. It’s just create a carbon fiber pattern, that you can use again and again.

Step 1
Start a new document about 4 x 4 pixel at 72dpi with a transparent background.

Step 2
Zoom your document by hold down the CTRL + and the + (plus) button. Repeatedly until you get very close canvas view.

Step 3
Get out your Pencil tool () and set Brush to 1, Mode to normal and Opacity to 100%.

Step 4
Now set foreground colour to black or the hex value is 000000.

Draw two dots in the top righthand corner of the canvas. It will be like this :

Step 5
Now set foreground colour to light grey or the hex value is b7b7b7.

Draw two dots in the top lefthand corner of the canvas. It’ will be like this :

Step 6
Now set foreground colour to dark grey or the hex value is 2e2e2e.

Draw two dots like this :

Step 7
Continue to fill canvas until you get like this :

Step 8
Ok, the pattern is ready. Now go to Edit > Define Pattern.

Give name this pattern with everything you want. I have give with “carbon pattern“.

Click OK when you are done.

Step 9
Now, your carbon fiber pattern is ready. Whenever you’d like to use it as a texture or etc, just click Paint Bucket tool. Then click set source to fill area, choose Pattern, and then choose the carbon fiber pattern we’ve just made.

Now click to canvas area. Now it’s done.
