For his second straight appearance, Max Scherzer got rocked. He gave up 5 runs in the first inning, got yanked and had control issues again. In an earlier post this Spring, I mentioned concerns about the starters in the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots. I know it’s only Spring Training, but without [...]

Huge win for Mike Babcock and the Wings. In a game that looked like trouble for the Red Wings after they fell down 2-0 in the first quarter, the Red Wings put up a fight and came back to win 5-4. Despite a Hat Trick from Chicago’s Andrew Ladd, the Wings stormed back [...]

Spring training is going on and the Tigers have lots of young talent.
Update from Friday's practice: This comes as no surprise, but Wings coach Mike Babcock made it official by saying Chris Osgood will be his starting goaltender in the playoffs. Osgood will start Sunday against Minnesota, as the Wings, who are pretty much locked into second place in the Western Conference, try to snap a three-game .

Long time Tiger Georg Kell passed away at the age of 86 in his home in Arkansas. George was a Hall of Fame third basemen for the Tigers and was a heck of a player. He edged out Ted Williams for the batting crown in 1949. He rarely struck out and consistently batted over .300.
