I initially wasn’t too happy with the Cataclysm announcement, but it’s grown on me a little bit since the first announcement.

When I started this site, there weren’t a lot of blogs out there about DK’s; the expansion hadn’t been released yet. If you think that I'm about to say that they're adding a new innovative dungeon, your wrong. They're recycling more old models and content. If your like me, the first thing that caught my eye was that they had decided to "reuse" the Tier 2 helm models. I thought they already did that back in Burning Crusade ... can we say Greathelm of the Unbreakable or any of the bazillion Tier 1 or Tier 2 look-alike pieces from BC. -- Visit http://www.deathknighttactics.com today for the full story.

Do Patches Bring Out the N00b in Everyone?

Overall, the new dungeon was pretty interesting; I ran it twice on normal and once on heroic. I don’t think anyone died on the normal mode. Interestingly enough, the idiot group leader I was with gear-checked me before allowing me to join his group for normal. I hardly see why that’s necessary unless you’re an elitist whore.

Having gone through Ulduar, my guild suffered from a lack of choices in weapons. I’ve been stuck with Stormedge because it’s pretty much all that has dropped for us. For the most part, blood and frost are pretty similar to 3.1. Unholy has had notable changes made to it that affect both dps and tanking. The first and most obvious change is that Unholy Blight has been redesigned as a single-target effect that increases Deathcoil damage. As a tool for AoE tanking, UB has lost its allure.

Ulduar definitely felt different than Naxxramas, my hats go off to the Devs for making such a pretty and challenging instance.

It seemed to me that Blizzard’s new dungeon strategy worked. I was hoping The Blizz would get on that, but there hasn’t been anything new since the last slice of news. I imagine that said changes will require some talent changes. I don’t think this is something that Blizzard will be wanting to do outside of a large patch like 3.2, so I regret that for the moment we’re all stuck.

We finally got to spend some decent time in Ulduar 10 with our A-Team. We pulled about 5 hours on Friday and 3 hours on Sunday. First night, we managed to kill Flame, Razorscale, Ignus, Deconstructor, and Kologarn. Then on Sunday, we killed Assembly of Iron, Auriaya, and worked on Hodir.

I honestly think that either Blood or Unholy is good for leveling purposes. A blood leveling spec focuses on health regen and damage, while an unholy leveling spec focuses more on diseases and control via your undead minion.

We want both dual wielding and 2-handers to be viable for Death Knights, balancing both of these inside each tree has been exceptionally challenging and caused an issue or two.
