According to an interview with Ken Corday by soaps.com, Alice will be portrayed as growing very ill, with all of her loved ones coming to visit. There appears to be a lengthly list of characters from yesteryear returning to pay their final respects to Alice (and the actors to Frances Reid).

One return will please you I am sure. Daytimeconfidential.com reports that Arleen Sorkin will be back briefly as Calliope Jones in May. This coincides with the end of sweeps, which is the earliest Corday reports the tribute can air.

Now, there are 2 main reasons I watch soaps.
1.  The endless romance
2.  The crazy story lines

I don’t know about the rest of you, but in my view DOOL has been lacking in both.  The writers have had numerous opportunities to write romance into the storyline, but instead chose to give us disjointed unions that have been rushed from the beginning, or were never given a chance.  Stefano and Kate are the one true romantic couple on the show.  As for the craziness, Vivian gave us a taste of whacko, but why make her feel remorse for what she’s doing?  It’s a soap, I want a psycho, not a psycho with a conscience.  Remember crazy-Jan?, That’s what I thought.

So, here are my suggestions:

1. Let Chloe pick a fight with Carly.  Maybe Carly falls out a window?  Philip will be an understanding shoulder for Chloe, and Carly and Dan (or Carly and Rafe) could start a relationship as we all know Bope will be back together in the not to-distant future.

2. Let Lindsay Hartley (Arianna) showcase her talent!  She’s the best little crier out there, so give her a storyline fitting of her talents.  I for one would love Ejanna, & it has many potential pitfalls along the way.  Lindsay and Stefano facing off?  That would be amazing.

3. Bring back Meredith and Lawrence!  These will be our psychos without consciences.  Lawrence would want revenge on Carly, Dan, Melanie, and I’m sure Vivian as well.  After all, she failed in avenging his death.  As for Meredith, she’d be after Rafe, Arianna, Gabi, and everyone connected to them.  And we, along with Sami, will finally learn what happened to Emily.  Mer and Larry could even team up!

I’m not asking for Passions-level crazy.  I don’t want a hermaphrodite serial killer who’s in love with Brady, raped his half-sister, had an affair with his uncle, and gave birth to his father’s child.  But this year I DO want to see someone buried alive, someone pushed off a cliff, and someone to go from normal to b*tch in 5 seconds flat!  Oh, and McKenzie Westmore as Emily,

Sydney is returned. Daniel steps up as father of the year, to Melanie and Carly.  Justin and Carly make a duplicitous pact.

Does anyone else remember how boring Chelsea got when she was redeemed? I wasn’t even sad to see her go because her character wasn’t bringing anything to the show. The writers even tried to redeem Nicole after the baby switch and she would let EJ walk all over her, but the old Nicole would never stand for that. One of the biggest mistakes the writers made was changing Sami. What ever happened to the Sami we all knew and loved? The Sami we see now is just a Marlena wannabe or  a clone of Marlena that the writers created probably to fill the void of  Deidre Hall’s absence. The Sami I knew was never this boring and she would never have tried to become friends with Nicole. This new Sami even thanked Nicole in jail for helping the police on the Sydney kidnapping, and I just could not see anyone ,let alone Sami, thanking someone who stole her child from her.
I just don’t see what’s the point of redeeming characters because after they are redeemed, they become dull and boring. I could understand if they redeemed a character before they were written out of the show but these characters are going to be on for many more years. I am really not interested in seeing a show where everyone gets along. A lot of characters are losing their spunk that made us love them in the first place. I miss all the drama and all the cat fights.

You may have noticed that recently we have been having posts written by loyal fans. Thank you to Sodie, Millie,  Haley, Miss K, Katy and Libby for your creative input. There are others out there who I feel have provocative insight that the rest of the DaysTalk community would enjoy. Not to exclude anyone, but off the top of my head I am thinking Amy D, Joan, Gertrude, Karen, Debbie B and Katie. But we are welcome to the theories and predictions of all of our readers.
