%%BLOGDESCLINK%

That is a very crude title for a blog post and I will probably get a lot of hate mail for it. Let’s set the record straight that just because I’m a single mother that doesn’t mean I can’t get dates. In this online dating world, anyone can get a ton of dates with ease and little effort. I have tried many different online dating sites and I am now on a site that I’m very happy with. I’d love to divulge the name but I’d like to keep my profile private for the sake of my blog is you don’t mind. I’m an expert at online dating. I have been doing it since 2004 in any means possible from social networks to chat rooms etc. I have seen and read things and while some things have changed, people still have the same longing to either find Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now. I love my dating adventures and while I have had some great times and memories, I do get some flunkies. Online dating for me is also research since I am the Dallas Single Mom. I want to know what makes a man tick and what makes me more »

The post Why I am not dating you? 25 things men do to screw it up appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

I was perusing around the Internet when I caught up on a blog post from Wealthy Single Mommy called Stuck in a 20′s Dating Mentality – Even though you’re in your thirties or forties. In this post she brought up the concept of casual dating and how many individuals who go through a divorce judge their dating philosophy on their pre-marriage dating routines. In the post she writes “If you want to move on from divorce and heartbreak you have to let go of who you were before you married in the first place. If you want to enjoy dating now, you have to let go of how you dated back then.” Read more here! This is some good stuff. However, as I listen to Miranda Lambert’s song, Mama’s Broken Heart whether it’s dating, break ups or relationships – the way we USED TO DO THINGS is not the way it is now. We are all grown ups – so learn to grow from your past experiences and casually date. The problem with casually dating is that “grown ups” are so traumatized for their divorces and past experiences that they are AFRAID to get hurt and don’t even try. They resort more »

The post How to date like a grown up appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

As you read this guest post you begin really feel the heartache and prayers of this mother. As a single mother we all go through this and many times we wonder if we are equipped to show our sons what it means to be a man since we are just women ourselves. This is truly one of the biggest challenges of my life to date, raising a son alone that is. My son’s dad was out of the picture from the time he was ten so to speak, I guess you could say he had a mid-life crises of sorts. Then he was completely out of the picture from my son’s life from thirteen on with an occasional visit here and there. To say it was hard would be an understatement since I have never understood men in general in the first place. The love I have for my son drove me on in pursuit of information from any source that would help. My primary source of information and strength came from my heavenly Father. There were countless nights on my knees where we talked about this in great length. I told Him that since He was our heavenly Father more »

The post Raising a son as a single mom appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.

%%BLOGDESCLINK%

I was reluctant to write this article because dating is not my thing. As I’ve said countless times before dating is a dance that needs to be carefully orchestrated and choreographed depending upon the outcome you’re looking for. I guess at this point in my life I had to come to a realization that I am not emotionally ready or available to integrate anyone in my life for various reasons. Many of these reasons include the ages of my children, the businesses I’d like to start, a realignment of my life goals. I don’t avoid dating, I’m clear that I’m dating to have a break from the stresses of my life. I enjoy the experience and even with it’s ups and downs, I have found being older, wiser and more responsible has made the experience fun – an escape from the complexities and stresses of day to day life. A chance to interact with other adults and I’m not afraid to date so as I navigate the online dating world, I’m taking the steps to meet in person. It’s interesting to note I often get asked the question “How do you do it?” I don’t understand that question but I’m guessing more »

The post Why dating is better now that I’m a single parent appeared first on Dallas Single Mom - A Dallas mom blog for single parents.
