I saw a screening of Epic with two of my kids last weekend. They loved it and I’m sure other children will like this movie too. I think most parents will enjoy this animated film as well. It’s predictable, but entertaining. Epic is a story about the battle between good (Leaf Men) and evil (Boggans). But in this storyline, the main characters are little people and creatures of the forest. The movie is based on a children’s book, The Leaf Men by William Joyce. My oldest son and I saw an early screening of Fast and Furious 6 last week. We loved it! There is a lot action, mayhem, and car chases. The movie is entertaining and there is excellent chemistry between the main characters. The sixth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise stars Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and Paul Walker. There is something for everyone this week. My wife and oldest daughter want to see Beautiful Creatures. I want to watch True Blood, and my younger kids will want to see Lego Batman. Inception Media Group sent me a copy of the new Twinkle Toes DVD for review on my dad blog. The new title, Twinkle Toes Music Video Collection, features a DVD and a music CD. The DVD includes nine clips and five special features. The CD includes five songs that should appeal to young girls. Twinkle Toes Music Video Collection will be available tomorrow (May 21st). It has a list price of $12.98, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $11.98.

My oldest son and I saw an early screening of Iron Man 3. We loved it! The new Ironman movie isn’t as awesome as the Avengers movie. But I enjoyed the story more and there’s plenty of action even though there’s only one superhero. And yes, Stan Lee is in this Marvel film too. This time, he’s a judge of a beauty contest. Lucky guy. My oldest son and I saw an early screening of Oblivion in IMAX. The film is a sci-fi story starring Tom Cruise (Jack Harper), Olga Kurylenko (Julia) and Andrea Riseborough (Victoria). The story takes place in the future after decades of war with aliens called Scavs. Jack, Julia and Andrea are a few of the remaining humans left on a post-apocalyptic Earth. For my next Master Lock giveaway, they gave me a choice: the 8220D Cable Lock or the 8170D U-Lock. I’ve reviewed the 8220D cable lock recently on my dad blog. My take on the two locks is that the u-lock is great for a single bike, but the cable lock works better if you’re locking multiple bikes at the same time. Below are some highlights of the two locks. This week’s new movies released on DVD and Blu-ray include Django Unchained (Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio), Dragon (Donnie Yen), Iron Man: Rise of Technovore (animated), and Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens (animated). I want to watch Django Unchained and Dragon, but my kids will want to watch Iron Man and Ben 10. Read on for a summary of the new film releases.

March Madness is over. Congratulations to the Louisville Cardinals (men’s champion) and the UConn Huskies (women’s champion). Oregon State wasn’t in the Big Dance this year. Actually, the Beavers have not been a part of March Madness for several centuries. Luckily, it’s now baseball season and the Beavers are currently ranked sixth in the nation. They have a good chance of making it to the College World Series (top eight teams). Speaking of collegiate sports, I have an awesome giveaway on my dad blog today. Master Lock sent me their 8220D Cable Lock for review on my dad blog. Just in time for spring. We had a couple of days in the upper 70′s during Easter weekend so we took our bikes for our first spin of the year. It was a nice ride. We even stopped by the park and played for a bit. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a bike lock with us. Luckily for us, no one stole our bikes. Most people are good at heart, but it only takes one bad apple to steal your bike and ruin your day.
