I'm taking Spanish, Pysch, and Ceramics again.

My girlfriend, I'll call her Bunny for various reasons, it's starting school again this term to. We don't have any classes together, but we are on the same campus. Her other boyfriend, Bear, is also back in school, mostly at a different campus. My other girlfriends, Cat, and Baby, plan on going back next term. Maybe we can get Baby's other boyfriend, Wolf to get back in school. But he has a job, no reason to ditch that.

Over all this should be a good term. We've got some things figured out, and some things to work on.

I've been doing some thinking, talking with some of my female friends, and doing some reading and listening. I think something needs too be said. There too much hypocrisy in the current attitude towards feminism.

This is the internet, and while I hope people will read all of this before flying off the handle, I expect some flack if anyone even notices this post.

I think I should start by saying I believe fully in equal treatment and consideration for everyone. Everyone should have the chance to achieve whatever they wish. If they can't achieve that thing, it should be based on their own merits. Everyone should be compensated equally for their work.

But there is an imbalance in western society. Overall, women have been striving for and doing a good job of achieving equal consideration. It's not quite there, and not entirely because of bigots. It's because most women still want to be chased. These women will go on and on about wanting equal pay, and equal consideration for employment. Equal respect, full equal rights. All great goals, and support this fully. But then some of these women will turn around and say they'll never ask a man out, or pay for a date. This hypocrisy leaves many men with a bitter taste.

It seems to come down to desire. Generally, women are considered objects of desire, and men the desirers. Usually women are not comfortable expressing their desire for a man. Men are not usually comfortable with being an object of desire. Often women want to be pursued, and men want to pursue. This often leaves women in the actual position of power, and men in the submissive role. Counter to much of western media. This can be acceptable. But when such a women pushes for equal political, and economic power and consideration the hypocrisy can elicit a threatened feeling from the usual man. While all of these goals are reasonable and proper. The feeling can be that now, this women that has so much power over men in personal relationships wants to grab more. It feels as if she wants to place herself over men, not what she perceives as reaching for equal status.

The men who react like this are valid in some of their feelings, if not the expression. Discrimination is not the proper reaction to being threatened in this way. Acceptance and withdrawal is my perceived answer. Let the women have the political and economic power so many crave. Men, pull back. Stop wooing. Go dutch on dates. Wait for the women to press for sex. Women, if he's cute, ask him out. Buy him a gift. Buy tickets to the big game and go with him. Men did it for you with your preferred movie or show.

Equality needs to go both ways. You're in charge of our social interactions, women. If you want more political and economic power, give men more social power.

P.S. Stereotypes and generalities used for poetic license and brevity.

Getting Back Out There

So I've finished the Fall term at PCC. My love life is fairly settled. And my poly family is getting the apartment in order while I go on vacation.

They are going to get everything cleaned, and organized. Come up with a chore and work schedule. And get some work done.

So far I've been getting up earlier, and writing more. I took more time to focus on my studies. And now I'll be making time everyday to study and write.

The main change is the addition of Ca to the family. She's a great woman. She just needs some loving support, and a firm hand. She'll be helping A with cleaning and staying motivated. They will both keep C on task with writing and other work. And K will keep them on schedule. I hope.

In all of this, I'm not only going to work on assignment writing, but also my own projects. My next project will be an article series on modern polyamory. Then maybe one on kink. I might turn these into blogs on there own.

<media:rating>adult</media:rating>
Ramblings of an asshole
