Calling all Lego fans ages 7-12 to visit the Children’s Room on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  During this time, children will use various library owned Lego kits to create their own masterpieces.  Lego donations are also welcome for this program.

Because this program is a drop-in format no registration is necessary.  Children will be able to participate in the Lego League program on a first come, first served basis. Parents/guardians are asked to remain in the Children’s Program Room with their child.  Please note: No admittance 15 minutes prior to the close of Lego League for time management purposes.

Come watch Japanese animation, draw, read manga, and have a snack.  The club meets every Tuesday night.

Anyone from teen to senior citizen is invited to come play chess on Thursday afternoons at the library. Beginners will receive instruction from seasoned players. Advanced players can challenge each other or teach newcomers.

The library’s monthly movie discussion group called the Saturday Second Screenings will be meeting on Saturday, May 26 at 2:00 pm.  Subsequent sessions will take place on the fourth Saturday of each month.  Anyone who is a movie buff will be drawn into this forum.  Participants will watch the film at the start of each session and then discuss various elements from it.  This month’s selection is Th Lady Eve.

This is an ideal storytime for children, ages 3-6, whose parents work during the day. Children may wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal.  Storytime is comprised of 30 minutes of thematic stories, fingerplays, and music.
