Switching from Kid Development to Entertainment strategy, Jørgen Vig Knudstorp kills the company. Shareholders must replace Mr.Knudstorp as much as possible if they wish to save Lego !!! Otherwise we will see just another stylized video-game maker.

I recently heard Robert Brunner (Apple's former Director of Industrial Design) speak at the World Innovation Forum. He described design as the interface between the company and the customer. He also asserted that great products are more than just objects - they're ideas, experiences, and expressions, all influenced by design.

This shows why Apple has done so well, especially recently, in creating products that consumers love. I'd distill Steve's quote down a bit further and suggest that the Apple designers focus not just on how it works but on the resulting experience for the user.

I must say I am more and more astonished with WWW marketing due to seeing the way the youger generations deal with with their friends with their technology. My 11 year old nephew just sent me a website they had put online to manage popular topics for their online friends. They were asking about how one could setup online advertising on the page to create revenue. I must tell you I am so very proud of them.

I was able to use your writing and quotes from your papers a great deal during my MA and dissertation. I am a great admirer of your work.

Thank you,

Thank you for sharing this timely study. I am indeed heartened that Creativity is finally being recognized as an essential ingredient for business success (as many of us have believed for a long time). So how do we "instill creativity throughout an organization?" I view it as a two-part process. First, we must foster a culture of creativity in the organization, and there are many books and white papers that offer insight as to how to do this. Then – and I think this part is often overlooked – it's very important to provide training and offer tools to awaken and develop creativity in the individuals that make up the organization. It's one thing to talk about creativity, and have a corporate culture that encourages it, but quite another to invest resources to actually teach individuals to access their own natural creativity. The interesting thing is that when we do teach individual creativity, we not only get people who are more creative, but we get people who are happier, more energized, and more responsible... better corporate citizens.

I've just published a book called "The 20-20 Creativity Solution," which may be useful to help individuals in a corporate setting connect with their authentic creative selves. More info at the2020book.com

Hi Linda. Interesting, albeit a bit depressing, results from the study. Looking at just your first way to inspire & engage - i.e., giving people hope for the future - seems like a ripe opportunity for some uplifting storytelling, and folks getting immersed in the storytelling exercises in your Orchestrating Collaboration book!
