Description

For over a decade, INDG has been helping leading brands to drive their customers to action by delivering engaging (online) experiences. Unique in INDG’s approach is a combination of concept creation and realization that is backed by advanced software frameworks. This liberates the creative process from technical limitations and allows efficient, large-scale realization of innovative product experiences. INDG’s solutions are applied to assist customers throughout the product life cycle, such as product discovery, product advice, configuration and even allows customers to ‘place’ products in their own home (or office) environment
Continue reading.... 3D Real-Time Specialist at INDG

Company: Different Projects

Location: London, UK
Type: Creative Code
Job Type: Full-Time

Description

Who we are
Different Projects are a creative digital production company making websites, social apps, mobile apps, games and more. We happily exist somewhere in the void between agency and startup. We collaborate with leading agencies and brands like Orange, Channel 4 and ITV on projects that make the web a better place to interact, learn or just have a good time. We also make our own digital products where it’s all about making stuff that matters.

Who we’re looking for
We need a Creative Developer. Someone who feels comfortable on both the front- and the back-end. Someone who loves learning new stuff, who\’s entrepreneurial, a technical leader, a true creative problem solver, not afraid to talk to clients and probably has a few of their own side projects going on. You\’ll have a couple mobile or web apps under your belt. You enjoy bridging the gap between creative and technology, working on product development/service design together with UX designers, leading the dev team and helping to recruit new team members to build our technical capacity to even more awesome levels. You\’re passionate about creating new digital products or services people will actually want to use – whether for clients or for ourselves – and will be directly responsible for the quality and success of our technical output.

Skills & Experience
Essential (all of the above plus):
- HTML/CSS/Javascript master with a healthy interest in HTML5
- Mobile app experience and interest – iOS and/or Android (native or HTML5)
- Experience with one or more server-side languages, especially PHP, Python or Ruby
- Love your version control (Git preferably)
- Likes getting hands dirty with 3rd party APIs
- Enjoys prototyping and iterating stuff
- 2-5 years experience in an agency, digital production environment or startup producing projects on deadline

Bonus points:
- Strong interest in UI/UX Design
- Flash/AIR/Actionscript 3 experience
- Experience with one or more open source CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, etc)
- Agile/Scrum/Lean experience

If this sounds like it could be you, send us a CV and some examples of the work that you\’re most proud of to work@differentprojects.co.uk

Several prominent currents run through the oeuvre of Montreal’s Matthew Biederman – data systems, politics, broadcast media, performance and the promotion of awareness of northern landscapes and cultures. Another interest that is evident across Biederman’s body of work is colour, a fascination that he demonstrates an almost painterly preoccupation with within several of the installations that he’s executed over the last decade. The latest such work is the ominously titled Event Horizon, an immersive, generative AV installation commissioned for the International Digital Arts Biennial (BIAN) in Montreal
Continue reading....
Company: MobGen BV

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Type: Art Director
Job Type: Full-Time

Description

UI designer/Art director at international Mobile and Social
Media marketing agency in the heart of Amsterdam

MobGen

MobGen is an award-winning full service digital/mobile marketing agency, based in Amsterdam but with a truly international flavour. Our 50+ staff come from 15 different nationalities including Spain, Italy, Australia, Israel, Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, USA and Poland. Internal communication is all done in English.
MobGen is in many respects a young company – even though the partners and directors each have over a decade of top-level marketing and mobile technology experience, MobGen itself was only launched in 2009. The staff is a mix of experienced seniors and young talents from design and technology institutes. The result is a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic team that has a problem-solving attitude. We have an A-class client list featuring companies such as Shell, ABN AMRO, Vodafone and Opel alongside many prestigious boutique projects.

The creative team is looking for an experienced kick-ass UX/UI designer who is also keen to dirty his or her hands in campaign concepts. We know this is an odd mix, so we are happy to talk to anyone who is either one of these things [UI specialist or Art Director] and who is looking to move up and branch out. Essentially we want to see a top level of finish, some great ideas for interfaces and/or digital campaigns… and an awesome attitude! The successful candidate would work directly with the [Australian] Creative Director and the design team of around 10 [including web designers/ 3d guys/motion graphics and video etc], and would be responsible for some serious projects!

About You:

● Portfolio of well-designed web and mobile projects.
● 3+ years experience in designing user experiences and coordinating with multi-disciplinary
project team members.
● Great skill in translating high-level concepts into elegant user experience design – you and
the Adobe Creative Suite are intimate!
● Ability to prototype user workflows, interaction models, and screen designs. You know your
JS from your CSS.
● Fascination with infographics – our clients have a lot of data and want us to display it in
attractive and effective ways.
● Comfortable working independently or with product management and dev teams to
understand and solve user problems and company business goals.
● Excellent communication – You can sell your design rationale and verbalise your creative
vision.
● Comfortable in a very fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple projects and
priorities and thrive in a state of high-energy.
● Thick-skinned! Able to absorb feedback and react accordingly.
● Tech-geek – you love gadgets and the way they can enhance your lifestyle

Bonus:

Video/photography/illustration/print skills are a handy extra
Out-of-the-box ideas, able to incorporate gimmicks and fun stuff into projects
Dutch language is a bonus but by no means a necessity [any other languages are also useful!]

Amsterdam is considered one of the best cities in the world to live in, and MobGen can help out with the logistics if you need to move here. An European working visa is of course an advantage.

We offer

● Market based salary;
● Start period: as soon as possible;
● Great deal of personal responsibility;
● Working with and learning from an experienced award-winning team;
● Work setting is a beautiful location in the center of Amsterdam;
● Opportunity to become part of a fast growing international mobile marketing agency.

Contact information
Interested to become part of MobGen? Send a short motivation letter with CV (including portfolio or
links to applications) to: hr@mobgen.com regarding ‘MobGen UI/artdirector’

REMINDER employment agencies, placement agencies, etc.: Acquisition to this vacancy is not appreciated.

Company: Resn

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Type: Technologist
Job Type: Full-Time

Description

Resn Amsterdam is looking for a sweet-sweet Front-end Experience Developer because we’ve been told by this guy we met last week that we should probably get one. We need someone who can wield the red-hot combination waffle iron of Flash and HTML7.9 with recklessly strategic abandon to create the kind of crispy interactive experiences that make us wish we’d never been born.

You’ll be working in Amsterdam but in a liason with our wolf-pack in New Zealand: multi-skilled developers with varying degrees of beard growth, animators with varying degrees of hygiene, producers with varying degrees of height and designers with no degrees at all, all on a deviant mission to deliver hard the highest quality user experience ever created by anyone ever. You will plan your interactive attacks in detail and know all the best tips ‘n’ tricks allowing you to weave consistent and desirable experiences across the scattered landscape that is the modern desktop and mobile web.

You\’ll be responsible for the research, development and production of hemorrhaging edge dev and have your fingers up the skirt of what\’s new and years of experience in what’s old.

We have just moved to Amsterdam, Holland, a breathtaking city filled with buildings, roads and people. You’ll be a key part of our emerging Resn-euro-troupe and be instrumental in helping us learn how to dress, clean and behave in the old country.

If you want to move here from over the seas we’ll talk the pilot into free flights or pay for them and help you get setup in our golden nugget of creativity.

Join the Resn Viking barge as it thrusts its love mast in the centre of a quivering and unsuspecting Europe!

Requirements:
* 3+ years agency experience kicking either Flash or HTML/CSS and JS in the balls.
* Knowledge of OOP, design patterns and when to use them.
* Experience designing and integrating with APIs (JSON, XML and MSPants).
* Experience creating high-end 2D & 3D programmatic animations, transitions and visuals.
* Methodical planning of your approach to the complex problems of high end experience development.
* Experience with formal browser testing, frameworks and libraries, and version control systems.
* An eye and passion for detail and a hunger to achieve the best results.
* Can speak England good. Dutch is a bonus.
* If you are an HTML/javascript developer with no Flash experience we are still keen to hear from you. HTML is the future from the past… right?

Bonus Points:
* Education in computer science is a huge asset.
* Experience with WebGL and/or Stage3D? Will you marry us?
* Experience developing web apps for mobile phones and tablets.
* Backend knowledge: Pythong, PHP, Noddy.js etc.

Send your sexy-time work and experiments to the email address below and tell us why Resn is the man for you.
Please mention what your involvement was on the projects you display.
Awards are great – we love awards because the people who pay us love awards.
Please send any personal works as well as those often contain the gold and the soul.

Ideally you will already have a permit to live and work in the Netherlands that said we can help you find a way in if you are the bees knees.

If interested, contact dev_4_life@resn.co.nz with CV and examples of work.

Company: Error Creative Studio

Location: Liverpool, UK
Type: Coder
Job Type: Full-Time

Description

£28,000-£38,000 per annum salary (depending on experience) for 37.5 hours per week. Starting as soon as is physically possible.

A LITTLE ABOUT ERROR

Now nearly two years old, Error has etched out a strong presence delivering digital brand design and development work for clients such as National Museums Liverpool, Cambridge University, London Asian Film Festival, Riverford Organic and Campaign Against Living Miserably. Based in central Liverpool, we’re a small team (five including you) with a ton of experience. We work hard, live honest lives, and try to do things a little differently.

A LITTLE ABOUT YOU

A developer who’s willing to work with long-term clients on existing applications, as well as developing fast-paced, interesting and varied projects; who’s willing to be kept on their toes by trying new and different things; and above all, a developer with a desire to deliver quality work.

We’re looking for an experienced developer to work on a key client account and many other exciting digital projects with the following development platforms:

- PHP (WordPress and Drupal)
- Ruby (Rails)
- Javascript (client libraries like JQuery, server-side code with Node.js)
- MySQL
- MongoDB

If you’ve got more to bring to the table, tell us about it! We’re looking for someone with a rounded interest in technology. That might include:

- Mobile Application Development
- \’Big Data\’ (Key/Value Stores, Map-Reduce)
- Desktop Application Development
- Microcontrollers and Electronics
- Much of our work is about producing beautiful, functional web applications: you’d need to know what it means to work with solid HTML & CSS markup as well.

SOME OTHER FITTING THINGS

You’ll be our first full-time developer so we’d need you to be good with clients – meeting them and helping to manage them (don’t worry, we’ll help!) – and good with us. Being down-to-earth and light-hearted normally wins us over!

If you are interested, please contact info@errorstudio.co.uk with cv and examples of work.

CAN was all over the recent International Marketplace for Digital Arts (IMDA) event that took place as part of the first edition of the International Digital Arts Biennial (BIAN) in Montreal. These speed talks allowed a global roster of artists, curators and organizers to discuss their current projects for the assembled audience and—fueled by a lot of coffee—approximately two dozen practices were presented over the course of two days. For the next week and a half, I’ll be pointing out some of the artist and projects that were discussed during these sessions and the first up is Montreal’s Darsha Hewitt
Continue reading....
