Being Active, Staying Healthy

You own your body, treat it well!
As a young woman in my twenties who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia the summer before my Freshman year of High School, I stay balanced with a healthy diet and excercise. These two healthy habits have changed my life and well-being drastically, and I urge you to make the change if you have not included these healthy habits into your lifestyle. So many people are diagnosed with illnesses yearly, and many of these illnesses can be avoided or easier to deal with by including healthy eating and exercise into your lifestyle. It certainly isn't easy, but the payoff is completely worth it.

Here are some healthy choices I have made over the past few years:
- I have cut many processed foods out of my diet. Instead, I like to eat organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and healthier snacks. I snack throughout the day, so it's important to me that my snacks give me energy and not the crash that some high-sugared foods give. Some of my favorite snacks are bananas, sliced granny smith apples with almond butter, and organic trail mix with sunflower seeds, raisins, dark chocolate, and pumpkin seeds.
- I enjoy taking long walks and I do yoga daily.
- Daily journaling helps keeps me grounded and focused on the things that I am truly grateful for, and is a great way to stay mentally and emotionally balanced.
