I must add I thoroughly enjoyed providing entertainment at his midsummer bash.. he knows how to put on a faaaabulous party,

Wow.... well 2weeks ish till New Year.. And what a great year starting with work in January in Barbados, Brazil in March. a new experience I "Did" my first cruise ship job.. a fantastic 2 week cruise around the UK it was called ..The Coast Of a Kingdom and could hardly be called work.. myself and the band had 5star treatment all the way and went on all the excursions if we wished.. it went up to the Orkneys (not a carry on film) the haunting midnight sun and Ring Of Brodgar I am pleased to have seen . Giants Causeway in ireland which is one of the Wonders of the World ... hidden and lost gardens in cornwell. a walled city in wales and the scilly Isles and Guernsey( i bought a sexy pair of gold stilletoes) i wont wax lyrical or show you my tourist snaps but here is a shot of the band

Many gigs through the year. A highlight being The Canary Wharf Jazz Festival in July in London

Through out the year I have performed regularly with The Boisdale Blue Rythmn Band and recorded a live gig with them in November and another recording session with Martin Wheatley and Jonny Gee .. so the new year will bring some more releases from, Cousin Alice .. plus a new video clip to a new song called Wednesdays Alright this is already under way in production .. involves me merry go rounding in Brighton among other things.

On the recording side also a song called Onscreen Lover which I wrote over a drum loop of a Article P, he is a DJ. He added a New York Rapper into it.. The track will open his forthcoming album and is rather wonderful. I may be able to let you have a listen also.. tho its NOT jazz it does have my distinctive lyrics and vocals. .

I sign off the year with a gig at The National Theatre music stage on December 30th.

The Coast Of a Kingdom

Hi everyone...

A quick update... Am so looking forward to working on a 2 week Exclusive Cruise - The Coast Of a Kingdom (UK) with Swann Hellenic from 22nd June-6th July... I have a fantastic band coming with me Julie Walkington/bass, Paul Etheridge / grand piano, Julian Fenton/ drums.

So its up to the Orkneys, Skye, Mull, around Ireland and down to Guernsey and the Scilly Isles... with Edinburgh and Blarney and more historic locations as well... what an adventure and so wonderful that my first cruise booking I will take me too places right on my doorstep that i have never explored... WONDERFUL.

Will keep you posted on the aquisition of my sea legs and marineering escapades.

The year so far has been very full and exciting. I saw the New Year in whilst working in Barbados, returned to London mid January for gigs. During this time an electric guitar based arrangement for a new song of mine called MY SHADE OF BLUE was recorded in Rio by Marcelo Cotta. I recorded the vocal in London which was sent through to him mid February (the wonders of cyber communication)… and I followed it to Rio myself at the end of the month primarily to make a music video to the song.

I had the whole month of March in Brazil... An excursion to the beautiful town of Búzios was called for to make the Video, Búzios being renowned as a haunt of Brigitte Bardot's in the 1960’s.. Who knows COUSIN ALICE... May bring it to global awareness once again.!!!

MY SHADE OF BLUE will also be the THEME TRACK to an art house documentary called MYOPIA which I narrated whilst there... During the month along with the making the video I recorded a samba stylee version of my song RAISING THE DIAL ....its being" mixed "about at the moment.

I also did that "must do once in a life time” thing and experienced Rio Carnival, which certainly does STOP the city. well the nation I hear.. and I got a few samba moves under my belt. ha...

Was so good to see the crew from SINAPSE again who are producing my music video… as back in 2009 the same team made my SWINGING ON RAINBOWS music clip which was shot in Rio, most of it up in the old bohemian district of Santa Theresa.

Whilst there this time I also delved into some classic Brazilian recordings and was directed to Maysa. What a discovery she is... her interpretations have inspired me to include some Tom Jobim amongst others in my repertoire. It would be Fantastic to take this further and there is talk… to record some songs, an EP or album perhaps... and maybe some concerts in Brazil… I had such a fantastic time so I hope I get to return. Copacabana certainly feels like MY patch (many a morning meditation n stroll along the length of its beach up to Leme) . My last night in Rio was celebrated in the LAPA district (Friday night it's a hotbed of live music) to hear Mark Lamberts band and was invited to sing with them… we rocked an old blues.

So, today I am in LONDON and its spring time. Thursday 7th of April! I have a gig tonight at The Hoopers Gallery / Clerkenwell and have gigs throughout the month.(tres tres important for sustenance in more way's than one) I have some recordings to finish that were started last year featuring DANNY KEANE on piano and cello. TOM FRY on bass. so far… these recordings have a more contemporary sound ....

it good to be exploring new styles and a rather moving atmospheric filmic track called SAD SWEET SORROW is turning out to be really quite special... It's SPRING well feels like summer and am feeling inspired as have a new song or two on the boil ... Will keep you in the loop ...

British singer Cousin Alice arrives in Rio to shoot a video clip to go with an arrangement by brazilian producer Marcelo Cotta of her new song. MY SHADE OF BLUE is also the theme song for MYOPIA soundtrack.

There are some other artistic ventures in the pipeline while she is here. She will release POUR ME, her new music video, during the Rio season.
