HTC Hero now available to buy on Three

We mentioned it last month and now it's here, the HTC Hero is available to buy from UK network "Three" for �97.86 on a �35 p/m plan. This is a 24 month plan and includes 2 years of Spotify Premium membership.

The Hero has already been voted phone of the year by T3 magazine and we've given it a glowing review too.

Marketplace Region Switcher available

If you're lucky enough to have Windows Mobile 6.5 or you've grabbed the 6.0 / 6.1 version then you may have stumbled across the region-locking problem. Put simply, you can only view apps for your country. Let's say that there's a great app for the USA and the developer wants everyone to see it - unfortunately if he hasn't paid extra for other countries then you just won't see the thing.

This, as you might imagine, is a pain. It's meant that some countries are only seeing a tiny amount of apps within the new Marketplace system. Luckily, the community has helped and there's a Marketplace Region Switcher available over at xda-devs. Grab it now.

HTC HD2 Now Available. Yes, now!

We've had our HTC HD2 cruely ripped away by a courier, but you can now get one. Yes, right now. Devicewire.com have just announced that the HD2 is in stock and shipping. There's 11 as I type, so you have to be quick.

HTC HD2 - Example video from on-board cam

Another HTC HD2 video for you now, but this time it's taken from the phone camera itself. The HD2 is able to record video in 640x480, so I strapped it to the car this morning and took this video. Just click here to download the original movie, or click on to see it on YouTube.

HTC HD2 - GPS Test (Video)

This morning I managed to do a quick video showing the GPS in action with a "real life" test. In this video you can see Google Maps in action as I travel up the motorway. The HD2 has QuickGPS on board, so a GPS lock is fast and you can be on your way in seconds.

HTC HD2 - Final day (Video)

Now, keep this one under your hat. We've somehow managed to keep hold of the HTC HD2 for an extra day so, late last night I managed to film this extra vid. It's a little dark, but we show the flash in action plus there's more about the on-screen keyboard, browsing, contact management, calendar appointments (HTC have done a great job of hiding the old Microsoft calendar interface), ringtone management, WiFi setup, Twitter and pretty much everything about the phone.

This is our final video of the phone as the FedEx guy spotted me hiding under a desk this morning whispering, "He's not here. You can't take the HD2, sorry." :)

HTC HD2 Availability Update

We've just had an update on the HTC HD2 situation from devicewire.com. It involves the stock arriving this Friday (13th)..

HTC HD2 Screens and more cam examples

It looks like the FedEx guy is about to take our HTC HD2 away, but we've just managed to download some more of the photos from the handset. You can click here (taken with flash), here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here to see them direct from the phone.

As you know, I always like to put stuff online that's "hot off the presses" and have grabbed a load of screenshots from the HD2. They've been unceremoniously dumped here, and there's no resizing either, so be prepared for it to slide off the bottom of your screen :)

HTC Touch HD November Update

If you own a HTC Touch HD then you may be looking on with envy at the new HD2. HTC however haven't forgotten about you, and there's a new update to add enhanced notifications. HTC say..

"This update for HTC Touch HD combines your SMS function with our unique notifications to bring you your messages as soon as you get them. You will receive notifications whenever your phone is powered on and has reception, allowing you to stay close to the people you care about while on the go."

As usual you'll need to back stuff up and charge your phone, plus this looks to be just for network-free phones only.

HTC HD2 - Day 4

Well, I'm not totally sure where this came from but there appears to be a full overview of the upcoming o2 version of the HTC HD2 ROM here.

We've got just a few hours remaining with the HD2 and day 4 is now showing over in our YouTube channel. Today we go up-close and have a look at the settings, plus I give YouTube a proper work-out. Hopefully we'll squeeze one more video in tomorrow, and apologies in advance if I've not managed to answer your question yet but we're really up against it time-wise.

Many thanks for all your HTC HD2 questions. We've started answering some of them in todays video so click on to see more about the phone, it's multi-tasking capabilities and more.

We've also noticed that our first video got slightly mangled by Youtube, so it's just finished re-uploading here and is in the middle of processing as we speak.

HTC HD2 - Unlocked units shipping November 13th

LG GM750 Now on sale. Got one?

We're not quite sure when this happened, but the LG GM750 Windows Mobile handset is now available to buy on Vodafone UK. We're hearing that it'll also be popping up on AT&T in the US soon too (check this FCC link).

We've not been able to play with one of these as yet, so we'd love to hear from you if you own one. Features include a 5 megapixel shooter, GPS and Twitter / Facebook integration. WiFi, 3.5mm audio port and more.
