A little too much to drink in Boston..

Woha, this lady had a very lucky escape after falling in front of a train in Boston. It looks like she'd had quite a bit to drink and fell head-long in front of a "T".

Luckily some very quick-thinking passengers waved down the train and it stopped just short, saving her life. She then wobbled back onto the platform.

Top Gear returns once more - essential viewing

Eekk! The greatest TV show on earth returns on November 15th ! It's shifted back and hour to 9PM but the original British version of the programme will be on this Sunday for it's 14th series. Unfortunately there's only 7 episodes in this series, so soak it up!

He was driving like a maniac too. It could've had something to do with me waving like a fool at the cameras :)

Well, I think it is. Sure, I've got less time now than I used to (having children definitely does that), but I'm finding that if you post a Tweet then you generally "get off your chest" what you would've normally blogged about. My blogs have dried up recently, and I think it's got a lot to do with it. I'm seeing it happening elsewhere too.

Syndey dust storm

Woaha. The dust storms in Sydney must be a very strange thing to experience, especially for children waking up to images like this.

The red dust has been blown across the city by desert winds and has caused this red mist everywhere. Flights have been disrupted and people have started to wear face-masks. The pictures in particular are like something from a movie.

Audience figures up on Countdown - here's why

Countdown is a TV show that launched Channel 4 some 75 years ago here in the UK. When it first came on we all naturally assumed that Channel 4 was going to be utter rubbish filled only with inane quiz shows and random muusic shows. Strangely the first ever programme - Countdown - is still going strong. This is a show enjoyed by those who are off sick from work, home early from Uni or just generally sitting around being lazy.

The show is a tad geeky - making the longest word you can from random letters and using random numbers to hit a certain figure using the power of mathematics. viewing figures have been generally fairly samey, however just recently the "numbers girl" Carol Vorderman has left the show. In her place is 22-year-old Oxford Uni-grad Rachel Riley. Hmm.. I wonder why audience figures have gone up?

A while back the American supermarket chain "Walmart" took control of Asda. Since then your local Asda has got bigger and bigger, but in American Walmart stores they've got a new sport - spotting weird things and people, then snapping them. Unlock your phone, or maybe not

We get posts in the forum which point out unlock sites on a weekly basis. This one (unlocksearch.com) seems to be a bit dubioous. I tried a few models and every single one said it was "unlockable" for only �3.99. After a bit more faffing about I decided to make up model names and, lo and behold, it can unlock a HTC Banana Phone.

Sites like this annoy me, because they're not selling an unlock code at all - just an "Unlock Report" - which will no doubt just tell you to browse the web and find somewhere that actually unlocks your phone.

IE8 Adverts - Put these on in the UK!

This blog post is probably just for those outside the UK as I've never seen the "infamous" IE8 adverts myself. The ads, which Microsoft are using in the US to pull people away from older browsers (and .. err.. Firefox) are pretty funn, although this particular one (below) does involve a fair amount of vomit. Just rest safe in the knowledge that the lady has merely taken a mouth-ful of chicken soup.. and it's not real. OK ? Right, you can watch it now.

Stupid comment of the day...

In the video below the pilot states "I apologise". Yeah. I think perhaps you SHOULD have said "I apologise for being so utterly stupid that I nearly killed everyone and not spotting the bloody roof above me".

Other stupid comments in this video include the camera man saying, �so, ride�s over huh?�
