Everyone know that if you live in north the during the winter, your best bet is to take up some sort of crafting hobby to keep sane . I live in Oregon where you see  endless amounts of rain on end.

I decided  this winter to take up knitting. I went and bought a book at my local craft store in hopes to begin soon.  Knitting right now is foreign to me and let’s just say I don’t think I can knit anything useful enough quite yet. My daughter is about 18 month old and is still having trouble using her fork and spoon. Not that she can’t, but she would rather use her hands because it makes eating a lot quicker. I was thrilled when my friend Lindsey from a Kindred Sprit’s Thoughts, asked if I would review her parents Etsy shop “J Winterbower Glass Art”. Located not to far from me in Lebanon, Oregon Artist Jan and Joe Winterbower displaying the fine arts of the Pacific Northwest at it’s best. If you scoot on over to their shop you’ll find an array of handcrafted masterpieces such as glass beads, pendants, paper weights, lamp work marbles, and many more items. Once you see the beauty of their work, you’ll find it hard to believe that they’ve only been at it for just four years!

It’s really difficult for me to choose a favorite item in their store but if I would have to choose, I would definitely go with their marbles and paperweights. These pieces, come in the following styles: vortex, galaxy, floral, as well as team marbles! If you don’t see something you like, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to fulfill a custom request.

I was sent a stunning rainbow vortex marble to review and I must say that  the photos surely don’t do  it justice. I entirely could get lost looking into it.  This marble is now sitting atop of a shelf in my dining area. What a conversation piece it will be and what beautiful heirloom  to pass down to my children.

1.Why did you decide to start doing this on Etsy and how long have you been?
I love the idea of Etsy, all things handmade, by folks like myself that have a passion for their craft! We’ve had a shop since 2007, but just recently have been really putting our foot to the grindstone. My wife does all the computer work. That’s the real work.

2. What do you enjoy the most when creating your products?
My wife and I both race to the kiln in the mornings to see what God has inspired us to create. That’s a lot of fun, then we can talk about it over our coffee together.

3. Apart from creating things, what do you do?
I love to read biographies, but mostly spend time with my beautiful bride.

4. What inspires you?
I always look to God’s creation for colors and textures. Inspiration is everywhere I look.

5.In five years you’d like to be…?
I’d love to be able to know the properties of glass so well that I could make just about anything my mind could conceive. That will take a lifetime. I’d also like to share what I know with others that want to learn.

My Thoughts…

I’ve not read any book before by Athol so this read was a little hard for me to grasp. Not my typical read and definitely in  a different writing style like no other book I’ve read. I did have to go back and read a few chapters over because I got a little lost as the story is full of such depth and jumps from past to future. Other than those thoughts on the matter. I felt like the author did a superb job in captivating his readers in his mysterious tale. The characters felt real and it was a lot of fun trying to figure out who was good, bad, and the in-between. I would suggest Lost Mission to book groups who enjoy discussing stories with a lot of meat. There’s even a section in the back full of discussions questions.

Thanks to the One2One Network, I just learned about a new show based off Richard Scary’s stories called “Busytown Mysteries”! I was sent a DVD episode of Busytown Mysteries to review thank to One2One Network in order to spread the word! Each episode is about 24 minutes and features two  unrelated stories  that focus on introducing children to deductive reasoning skills. Who? What? When? Where? Why?

I know most children will fall in love with the many different characters and be quite engaged with the well thought out story lines! With titles like “The Falling Fruit Mystery” and the “The Dragon Hunters” children are bound to be in for some great adventurous! But the adventure doesn’t have to stop there, your children can enjoy the fun interactive website of BusytownMysteries.com any day of the week!

My daughter and I were having a lot of fun browsing through the interactive world of Busy Town just this morning! My daughter is adding so many new words to her vocabulary so we really enjoyed talking with many of the Busy Town friends. Other fun things you can find  there include 14 games and activities designed for preschoolers, including interactive games, a Fan Club and “My First Email,” which lets little ones email their progress to pre-approved friends and family addresses.

I highly recommend introducing the children in your life to the new Busy Town Mysteries show as well an encouraging them visit the website where they will find so many enjoyable things to do, it’s always a plus when we can find great family friendly stories and character that can make learning so much more fun!

I happened across the cutest clothing store called Myah & Me that  features several fantastic lines of fun matching t-shirt sets great for the whole family!

I recall when my daughter was much younger and she would spit up on me all the time. Trust me, I don’t miss the days when that happened. This matter was very inconvenient when out in public. Thankfully most days I kept my daughter’s burp cloth close at hand but once I cleaned up her mess I was in another inconvenient spot. I found myself having to throw my daughter’s spit covered cloth into her clean diaper bag, which to even this day I cringe to think of the mess it sometimes made.

Oh Plah! (which is translated from the french term “Here You Go”) offers a wonderful selection of bracelets to keep moms stylish and teething babies happy.

I was given the opportunity to review one of their latest bracelet designs that haven’t been marketed to the general public yet, so I feel quite honored  in sharing my thoughts on it.

The bracelet I was sent is pearlescent white  in color and there is an image of a windpump on it which symbolizes ” energy”. It’s chunky style and shape is eye catching. There’s even a handy oval hole on the backside of the bracelet which makes for easy handling for babies. This bracelet does occupy my daughter quite a bit whether she be trying to wear it or if she is easing the pain of growing teeth.

I probably have way more shampoo, lotions, and soaps than I need crammed on the rack in my bathroom. I have quite a bit because sometimes my skin has a negative effect to a product that I wasn’t able to try before I bought it. I want to smell nice but I don’t want my skin to get all dried out or have my skin break out.

Since my skin issues to other products, I’ve discovered the benefits of organic products like the ones offered at Tropical Traditions. What’s so special? Well, many of products like their soaps are made from non-refined, fresh, organic coconuts from the Philippines and no chemical solvents are used in processing.

I was sent Tropical Traditions Coconut soap in Lavender to try out. I found that the soap smell wasn’t overpowering and that it lathered nicely. I’ve been amazed at the results of my skin after using this soap, even my husband likes using it! It’s hard to believe a product that has left my skin feeling so fresh and smelling so delightful only consist of two ingredients!

I’m hoping to eventually get my hands on the only other scent available Tea Tree. These round 3.4 oz soaps normally cost $6.95 a piece but right now are on sell for 5.50 each! Check them out for yourself at Tropical Traditions.
