Making Your Flash Disk Immune from Viruses

1. Create a folder in your flash disk, name it : autorun.inf

2. Go into the folder you’ve just made, then create a notepad document inside it by right clicking your mouse, choose NEW > TEXT DOCUMENT, and give it any name you like. The name you’ve given is going to be changed with some special characters.

3. Then, click START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > CHARACTER MAP.

4. After CHARACTER MAP is opened, choose font that contain unicode name, as Arial Unicode or Lucida Sans Unicode. Scroll down until you see Japanese, Korean, Chinese or other strange characters.

5. Choose 4 or 5 characters you like, then click copy.

6. Rename the text file you made in second step above by right clicking the file name, choose RENAME> [CTRL] + [V].

7. Finished…….

Q: How can it be immune to viruses?
A: Windows will not accept 2 files under the same name. So, since file with autorun.inf name is exist in our flash disk, the viruses can not make a file with the same name.

Xerox Corporation shows off the technology of erasable paper to public in WIRED NextFest, a place for showing off global innovations that can change the world. This paper is re-usable and they hope it can not only save the paper usage but also reduce the paper waste. The idea has been proposed by Xerox since last year when it was still in a prototype.

Based on the research, 40% of office printouts are used for less than a day, The Xerox engineers have developed a new technology which enables the user to re-use the paper. The project is the collaboration between Xerox Research Centre of Canada and PARC (Palo Alto Research Center). Paul Smith, the Xerox material and new synthesis laboratory manager has showed off their ability by erasing a temporary printed out paper.

Engineers accomplished the feat by impregnating the paper with chemicals that darken when exposed to a specific wavelength of light, allowing documents to be “printed” on without ever actually laying down ink or toner. The effect fades with time though, so the dark portions on printed pages disappear automatically within 16 to 24 hours of printing. The pages can also be exposed to heat to clear immediately.

The other invention introduced by Xerox is significantly more friendly to the environment – a printing technology that can reduce the waste up to 90% and purify the water with less cost and use less energy compared with the conventional method. Xerox has also demonstrated a printing method to make document forgery harder because it can print very small hologram images which can only be read by a magnifying glass under ultra violet light.

Brick contains a virtual keyboard, a track pad, and adaptive multi touch screen which it can change depend on what circumstances the layout is.

Laptop
When you fold Brick open horizontally, it will turn to Laptop mode, where on the bottom part a virtual keyboard keypad is available, and the top part of it turns to be a screen. The screen seems to be a regular screen except it’s touch sensitive, and has a good response to hand move as double taps for zoom, etc.

Tablet
When the two parts are opened fully, Brick will turn to be a tablet with full touch screen. This mode is very useful for web surfing, browsing, photo editing, and viewing music visualization.

eBook
When you fold Brick open vertically, each layers will be transformed to be an electronic page and useful for reading. It will show eBooks, eMags, or a site view. The readers will navigate by slide the layer to turn the page to reverse side.

Fennec, Firefox Version for Windows Mobile

Prism 1.0, Application from Mozilla Lab

Finally Mozilla Lab has released Prism 1.0 application in Beta version. By using this application, any computer users are able to make web applications of any sites at one time, with no help from developer or downloading special application from the site owner.

You just need to choose the icon and then put the shortcut on the desktop, mini bar or start menu. Whenever you’d like to visit the sites, just click the shortcuts. Easy, isn’t it? Moreover, you don’t need to open the browser anymore. Each site will appear on its own window.

This application is separated from internet browser which may be used together. So, whenever a crash happens to the browser, it will not affect the application. Mozilla admitted not all sites support the Prism. However, thousands of sites over the internet have worked well with the Prism.

Prism works well on Windows and Mac OS X 10.4. This function is actually similar with the feature in Google Chrome browser "create application shortcuts". In the Internet Explorer, the feature has not been accommodated yet.

After reading the title above, of course we will consider it to be a car that can transform into a plane. This technology can overcome the traffic problem in many big cities. This year, the car will be produced massively in order to fill the order from many customers.

In United States, the Transition - the car’s name - has been unavailable, no stocks. Although it has a very expensive price, in $148,000 level, it’s still ordered by many customers in United States. The Transition can take 2 persons and has 185 km per hour speed. It is a carbon-fiber framed full road-going vehicle that automatically transforms between light aircraft and car in around 30 seconds, complete with fold-away flight controls inside the cabin.

The new BlackBerry Storm perhaps is the most important RIM's phone since the first Pearl became available back in 2006. The RIM introduces a touch screen handset with a brand new interface ready to take on the current smartphone lover, Apple's iPhone 3G.

The Storm comes with no physical keyboard. Its touch screen physically reacts like a button via SurePress, a RIM patented technology of providing haptic feedback.

The innovation is more complete with its 3.25 in (8.3 cm) TFT-LCD flat touch-sensitive scratch-resistant screen with 360 X 480 pixel resolution and able to display 65,536 colours. You don’t need to use a stylus here since it uses a capacitive touch screen. 2. Lock the layer of the original photograph so that it will not get edited unintentionally. Click the second box from the left in front of layer name until a padlock picture appears. Create new layer by clicking [Create New Layer] button and name it “Lineart”.

3. Click [Pen Tool] on the toolbox. Use black line for stroke line and click black Swatch palette, use transparent color for fill box (click [Fill], and and click [None] button).

Remove the color for Stroke, and choose the “Fill” color which is appropriate with the original color if the photograph. Create the path following the shape of face, neck and ear until done.

10. You can add a shadow to make the picture catchier. Create a new layer name “Shadow” . Place the layer on the color layer. Add the shadow by the same way when creating color path for face.

11. Press [Ctrl] + [A] to select all shadow path. Click [Transparency] tab .Select [Normal] option for “Blending Mode”, and arrange the “Transparency” value between 20 - 50 percent. If you have done it, reopen the color layer and remove the eye sign on photo layer to see the result. Save the picture.
