I hesitate to say that I have Never even Heard of a pie safe?? (what can I say, I’m from California!) Much as the whole engagement “season” makes sense, I would suggest that the Summer Solstice would Not be a good engagement day. That said, I am much relieved that you do not own white pants; i would have had to reconsider Everything if you did. And, as long as i get invited to the wedding, i don’t care when you get engaged! (note: i said when not if)

PS- My guess is that Valentine’s Day and Christmas are the most common engagement days. Uggghhh. So cliche.

However, there is a fault in your logic here, which is that it assumes people will celebrate the anniversary of the engagement as opposed to the anniversary of the marriage itself.

Post people only celebrate the latter on an annual basis, and the former for about a week until people get bored of congratulating you.

With this in mind, I assert that there are actually several perfectly acceptable week intervals in which you and Nicholas could get engaged between now and February 1.

Additionally, do they even celebrate September’s Labor Day and much more importantly, Baby Safety Month, in Greece?

I didn’t think so.
