I think the picture is awesome, maybe one day i will visit. The cross to me is a symbol of
life and death, physical and spiritual, a reminder of how cruel people can be when you do not follow the popular belief. we can learn from the symbolic meaning of the cross. But it seems only a few will.

The gist of Mrs Thatcher's very famous quotation is, socialism will never work since it stymies honest efforts of ordinary men to seek their own financial stability since they are focused on what the state can give them. Both the former Socialist republics, Russia now and the the People's Republic of China have embraced free enterprise and capitalism and have veered away from state controlled economies. The result of the rise of China into a first world status is clear proof of the efficacy of free enterprise and capitalism. Since China is blessed by a disciplined and cheaper work force honed by decades of strict discipline, it is outpacing even the United States and other developed countries in its rise to the zenith of world economic and political power. On the horizon looms the emerging figure of India making her own inroads to the position of economic self sufficiency and 1st world status. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.

Did a bit more research. The actual quote seems to be, “…Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people's money.”

While the popular quotation has been simplified, it does seem to capture the heart of what Thatcher said.

She made the statement during an interview with journalist Llew Gardner for Thames Television's This Week program on 5 February 1976. This would be a year after Mrs. Thatcher won the leadership of the opposition Conservative Party, and three years before she became prime minister.

Thanks Jon!
