Madhav Kumar Nepal, Prime Minister of recently formed government is the same person who after signing Mahakali treaty with India( widely perceived in Nepal as selling of the river to India) had once said that Nepal will sell electricity to China via satellite!

At the time when we ourself are affected by load-shedding of upto 16 hours in winter, it is almost impossible for Nepal to do this within next at least 25-30 years, according to our PM by satellite. But this may become possible under one condition that he(Nepal) himself as a person may sell but not Nepal as a country. May be this new scientist, MKN may surprise the world! Let's hope.

Reports are that pop diva Madonna has suggested Britney Spears not to marry again. It seems Madonna who recently has announced she is divorcing her husband Guy Ritchi is fed up with the married life! This means she won’t marry again?

Britney Spears and Madonna have been good friends since they appeared together on MTV Video Music Awards 2003 and shared infamous kiss on stage. According to report, Britney asked Madonna if she will marry again. But surpringly Material Girl told Britney she wouldn't and advised latter to forget about the marriage.

Rumors of breakup were heard many weeks before. However, there are many celebrities who say they will not marry but later proved their own saying wrong.

Stop such COWARD act

I am really shocked to know about the recent acid attack on Afghan girls. Whoever has done that unhuman action, those attackers or all concerned with attacks I think don’t have human sense. That was total violation of human right in very dangerous way. I can’t even imagine.

Being a science student, I know what is acid and how it affects human body. Main thing is its permanent effect deep into even the bone and disfigurement that may bring. I heard this kind of incident before as well but they are only on one on one action. But sure this is the first time I have heard about such action on 15 innocent girls. These girls became victims of someone’s rubbish ambition. Today almost the whole world is heading to provide equal opportunity for women as well. But, it seems those attackers’ main aim was to stop Afghan girls from attending school. I don’t want to blame any one or any group since it is not clear who was behind that attack. But, I strongly hate this kind of act and those attackers!

It’s Afghan government’s responsibility to provide security of these girls and make sure that this kind of act will not repeat in future. It’s one’s basic right to gain knowledge and education. We all should raise our voice against such violence action.

I am going back about three years. I knew Hillary Clinton and used to guess US will get female president soon. Unfortunately, time has shown that probably America will have to wait some more years to get lady president. But, we have something to celebrate recently. Barack Obama who I haven’t heard of before contesting primary election against Hillary has been elected as next US president. Well done Obama, well done and congratulation Americans. You have chosen the right person!

We know, not only those outside the US but also most Americans were not happy with the president George W. Bush and his administration. There is no doubt he is sole responsible person for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. I think he will have turned some more countries in the same condition above two countries are today if he is to head the country 2-3 more years. More terrorism and death of innocent people will have occurred; more Guantanamo camps will have formed with his strategy. But wait, may be he will analyze all these things after his retirement from White House. He doesn’t have time to listen to the victims of Iraq and Afghanistan war nowadays. He has been only listening to what his staffs, instructors, supporters inside and outside America since he was elected for White House. He never cared of those US soldiers who either died or injured in Afghanistan and Iraq. Rather, he was busy finding ways to convince American people so that he can send more troops to the battlefield.

Now being annoyed by the Bush administration policy, as a non-American we have great hope from Obama. In my opinion, the whole world is heading for new changes. This is natural phenomenon. This has already started here in Nepal. We have elected new faces throwing all old corrupt leaders. In the same way, American people have elected the best person to govern the country. This all happened when he is outside the White House. Let’s hope White House where Bush has been staying for continuous 8 years will not change him but he will change the White House first and help American and non-American people live peaceful and balance life.

Again congratulation Mr. Barack Obama (Yes, you can!) and American people!!!

They are no longer refugee from today!

They had their own house, business and fields to grow food on their own etc. in the past. They had been living a good life and their children were sent to regular classes with hope that they will look after them in their old age. Many hopes were made. But now not they themselves only but also don't have any idea about the future of their children as well.

I am not talking about villagers hit by recent earthquake in Pakistan nor those people displaced by hurricane Katrina few years back. It's about millions refugees who without their own fault have to live in those crowded, temporary camps.

I should not have to go far to know all these. More than 100 thousand innocent people from Bhutan are living in various camps in eastern Nepal for more than one decade. This is very small number (no, not that small on it's own but in comparison to the global figure). It would be shame on me if I forget to mention those displaced from Iraq, Afghanistan and many African countries, of course recently in Congo.

My intention here is not to talk about who are refugees, how many of them are in world. Many of us know about this especially those who should have been concerned about! But, anyway it's time to do something for them. Being many people in the same place without limited space under the same roof, less food and impure water supply, improper sanitation, hundreds of them are dying daily due to many diseases, complications etc. So, let's raise our voice for them. Political and individual effort is needed not only to improve the condition of those who are in camps but also to make sure that no one will be refugee from today!

Various organizations and NGOs are working in this regard. But, as we can see all these efforts are still not sufficient. I think main effort should be political solution. Those people are in the condition they are today mainly due to political reason. So, solution is political eventually.
