Hey Gadgettes,

Just finished listening to last Thursday’s show, and it was great as always. I have to admit, the possibility of a “raunchy” version of Gadgettes sounds awesome. I would pay actual money to subscribe to a monthly podcast of Gadgettes Unplugged. You guys should look into that as a second income in these trying times.
The Web exclusive for 165 was one of the best yet. It ran the emotional gamut from hilarity to the depths of depression, and by the end I think everyone needed a group hug. Hopefully that was just a case of the end-of-the-week, late-holiday blues, but if not, at least it was captivating. Train wrecks usually are.
Thanks again for all the hard work you guys do. Ive been a loyal BOL listener since before Veronica even had a speaking role, but for whatever reason I had never checked out Gadgettes until Molly went to a Monday-only schedule on BOL. In the past year Gadgettes has quickly become the weekly series I look forward to the most, across any form of media. I had written to you guys 6+ months ago saying that I was going through a difficult time with my job, and that Gadgettes was one of the escapes I used to keep myself sane. Since that time, Ive changed jobs and moved, and things are looking a lot better for me. Thanks again for being there for me, even if you didn't know it at the time. I realize that holiday has already passed, but if I was to make a list of things I'm thankful for, Gadgettes is definitely makes it.

Hey MoJaKeLi,

I was listening to Gadgettes 165 when you guys went right down my
alley talking about how much of a copy editor’s nightmare the “word”
sexting is. I’ve been at my first newspaper copy editing job (yes I’m
22 and dumb enough to go to a newspaper) for 6 months and have already
been in a 15-minute argument over the use of “sexting.” I’m proud to
say I yelled my editor out of using “sexting” in a headline, opting
for the much more tame “kinky texts.”

By the way, another techglish nightmare that I’m constantly fighting,
trying to Twitterize words by putting “Tw” in front of them. Ugh! Kill
me!

I don’t know about the sock club because all my dress socks are black, but there is a club I do belong to: Men’s Warehouse Fresh Shirt Club. I get a new shirt and matching tie sent to me every month. It was a gift, but have to say I love not have to worry about it. I also included a link to a tie of the month club.

And Molly, I love that you enjoy a man in a tie. I have to say, I hate to have a tie on, but think that it is the ultimate in class when you are wearing a nice suit, fresh shirt, and a tie: My clothing of choice 5 days a week.

It has been a while since I have had a chance to listen to the show or write in, and I have missed the hilarity that your show added to my Fridays. I am not sure if you have covered this little "gem" yet, but I think that something so... gaudy? So head-scratching-ly extravagant? So... (my sensibilities are at a lost as to how I should categorize it) "uniquely" nouveau riche as "The Hello Kitty Diamond Edition perfume for children" would fit so well into several your segments.
The ad's copy is what peaked my interest, and I really am curious as to who would want their young child (realistically speaking 'daughters' as I doubt many boys are clamoring for Hello Kitty) basking in "seductive" odors? ...with hints of margarita?

Hey Molly, Kelly, and Jason,

I was disheartened by your discussion on the 8-bit tie because last summer I attended a wedding where the groom and the groomsmen all wore 8-bit ties. I’ve attached a picture to prove it. Not only was it unique and different, but I thought it actually looked good. Now I should state that the groom and the bride, nor myself, are Sys admins, own fixed gear bikes, or have Space Invader tattoos. I’m just saying, it might be possible to own this tie and not be an indie hipster douchebag. Love the show guys!

I’m also a guy. I would love to have a sockscription.

More than that, I want every pair individual numbered, so that each shipment can tell me what pair I need to throw away.

There is, literally, no end to the amount I would like to not think about/interact with my socks. Hell, I want this for clothes, period. I want an automated service that ships me the clothes, tells me what to wear, and when. I want a Mac-like slider interface to indicate my desired dress-for-the-job-you-want level, etc. Engineered clothing services. That’s what I need. (want.)

After recent discussions on Gadgettes surrounding the attractiveness of non-smart-phone-owners I can no longer look at my samsung flip phone the same. Add to that the fact that my favourite wireless provider here in Canada has suddenly started getting some of the hottest smart phones I believe it is time for me to take the next step. My provider has both the Milestone (the international Droid) and the iPhone. We are an Apple household so the iPhone might play nice with our other computers but the Droid is so new and shiny… What should I do?

I love Gadgettes, and I love gadgets. But I have to ask what’s wrong with these girls who don’t have any love for the guys rocking a more “old school” style. I couldn’t imagine steering clear of a man just because he has outdated technology! I may carry my iPod Touch and 3G phone everywhere I go, but I find my boyfriend’s lack of tech refreshing and sweet.

For one thing, I never have to worry about him answering his phone or texting when we’re at dinner, because he only turns on his cell when he’s traveling. And if I need any information when we’re on the go, I have my own devices for that!

Hey Guys,

I’ve been watching the show for a while and I think it’s HILARIOUS!!! I laugh out loud every time. My mom’s birthday was a couple of weeks ago. But the moment you mentioned the tea kettle I knew that it would be perfect for my mother. She loves fancy kitchen toy and I used some of my saved up birthday, holiday, and allowance money to buy the kettle as a surprise. It is actually awesome, we set it up which may have taken us an hour but after reading the manual which comes in a variety of languages we finally set it up. It tells the time and does everything you said it does, it’s also good because me and my mother are russian (I was born here in New York but my mom was born and raised in moscow) and since she’s from europe she’s used to 24-hour time and Celsius which are the only presets available on the kettle so she understands it better than me. Overall even I’m impressed with it. It’s sleek and the screen looks great!!! Even I like it!!!

ALSO I use the mighty mouse which has for buttons, for expose and regular clicking, and it does increase functionality!!! : )

I am really into new gadgets. I usually purchase most of the new electronics that come out. It’s funny because in your last podcast you guys mentions dating habits in reference to technology, and right after that one of my coworkers asked me out. I started to give him my number, but when I asked for his phone to put my number in, his phone looked like a jitterbug. I made a few jokes about his phone not having a color display, which was enough to deflect from me not giving him my number. He’s a Verizon customer, and they are constantly contacting him pretty much begging him to upgrade his phone. He’s even been offered a free phone, but he still will not do it. I really enjoy your listening to your podcasts. You guys are awesome.
