linda + michael :: wedding :: Style Me Pretty

Phew. Another wedding I’ve been itching to share but couldn’t due to publication restrictions but since it’s now up on Style Me Pretty, I’m able to share this spectacular wedding with you guys.

Now, I’ve been to my fair share of weddings (obviously) and have been pretty blown away at the attention to detail, care, effort, money, and creativity put into a wedding. I really do think my jaw was constantly dropped and dragging on the ground during Linda and Michael’s wedding day. I don’t know why I was surprised or anything- from the get go, I knew that Linda and Michael had very specific and refined taste for everything. We had a record amount of phone meetings and in-person meetings (when they were in town from California) in order to go over the game plan of their day. Their discernment and standard for classiness / sophistication definitely stood out to me. Check out their engagement session here!

And so, that formula equates to such a full day of detail-shooting, wonderful food and fantastic imagery, including a personalize firework show off the lake and guests releasing lanterns into the night… wow.

I’ve waiting SOOOOOOOOOOO long to share this with you guys! I had to wait until their wedding was published in Wedding Bells magazine first until I could share more. It was exceptionally difficult to wait and share these images because Steph and Chris’ wedding has been one of THE most enjoyable, memorable and meaningful weddings I’ve shot in all of my 11 years. And of course, that’s a recipe for some of my strongest, and best work to date.
I could write an essay on why this wedding was so enjoyable and memorable for me but to sum it up: 1. Down-to-earth couple; 2. Loves their dog Oscar (and now Maggie) as much as I love my two doggies; 3. Graciously let the photographer whom they’ve never met stay at their home in Victoria for their engagement session; 4. Had a gorgeous wedding at a castle, along with a day full of beautiful and thoughtful details, against a backdrop of mountains and water… ? C’mon now :)

What made the trip extra great was not only having my lead photographer, Justin, travel with me (of course) but also Deborah from Palettera! We had time to explore Victoria together, eat some GREAT food and have some awesome conversations about life :)

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I had an amazing time photographing them.

I shoot a very select number of family/baby photos each year because well, I’m pretty tied up with weddings and such :) But when Ariane and Shaun asked me to photograph their family I had to do it!
I just loved getting to know Oliva better- it’s been incredible to watch her grow and develop and tonight I was able to really see her personality shine. One thing I discovered- she loves her parents’ noses! One thing we all discovered was that walking uphill for Oliva still needed some work haha I guess learning to walk inside a house and outside on rough terrain on an incline is different… :)

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all enjoying the fantastic spring weather :)
Ok, well for Cathrina and Julian’s engagement shoot it suddenly turned all windy/chilly and by the last 15 minutes of our shoot it started to sprinkle lol But that’s real spring for ya I guess! This shoot was a while in the making because Cathrina and Julian booked me 2-3 years back but nothing compares to the fact that they’ve been dating for 11 years now- wowza! I loved spending my afternoon with these two, seeing how comfortable they are with each other and how their personalities totally compliment each other’s. It was hilarious finding out how they met and started dating too haha I always love those stories.
Can’t wait for their gorgeous detailed-filled wedding at the end of the month.

What can make a chilly Saturday downtown more enjoyable? Two fabulous and easy-going people who wear their heart on their sleeves and seem to genuinely enjoy spending time together… AKA Prscilla and Yosvani :)
Although Justin will be photographing their wedding, I managed to tag along to shoot because I can’t get enough of them! Plus, uh they kind of make my job easy since they both are friggen gorgeous- inside and out! Wish I could be there at their wedding this summer but I guess I’ll have to be content with staring at their eSession images in the meantime :)

I finally get to share with you what went down almost a year ago at Angelina and Tyler’s wedding! Woohoo.
This wedding will go down as one of the most memorable weddings for me- from the amazing, out of this world details of Angelina and Tyler’s wedding but to also how amazing Angelina and Tyler are as people. From the get go they were so easy to work with and took to all my suggestions and advice, making for a smooth day for photography. I just recently caught up with Angelina over some coffee and give her their 40″x30″ custom canvas and it’s just great to hear how couples are doing, post-”hooplah” and wonderful to know they’re living and loving life together :)
This wedding had a LOT of well-known, and well-established vendors and it was a tad daunting but also incredibly daunting to be working amongst such high-calibre professionals. It really pushed me and my team to bring our own A game.
